ed, detail oriented, and very professional. Not only is Samantha fantastic at her job, she really cares and goes above and beyond to make your wedding day perfect. We had several meetings with my planner/event designer and other vendors at The Waldorf leading up to the wedding, and Samantha showed up to every single meeting even when we didn’t ask her to. I thought that was really classy because it demonstrated her dedication to her job and our event. She worked as a team with me, my mom, and my wedding planner to make sure every little detail was covered. Overall, her client services skills are TOP NOTCH! She even helped with little requests- she went to Bed Bath and Beyond to get me a special hanger for my wedding dress so it wasn’t touching the floor, she helped me order birthday flowers for my sister in law, she asked people to move when we were taking pictures so they weren’t in the back of our shot, the list goes on and on ! Samantha and the rest of the Waldorf staff also helped me create a custom catering package, so my guests could choose from chicken, steak or vegan/gluten free. They even gave me mini portions of each entrée on our wedding night so I could try everything! I loved how the Waldorf took dinner orders the night of vs guests pre-selecting their meal because it made the night feel very elegant and personalized for each guest. We had the wedding on a Friday, so that we could spend time with our guests, and also to save a little $$$. I would recommend this to anyone.
The ballroom is beautiful, and was perfect for about 125 guests, but any more than that would be EXTREMELY tight. There is an awkwardly placed wall that secluded 2 tables from the rest of our reception, and they said that they could not here any of the speeches. So my advice would be to make sure that your speakers are placed in a spot that those people behind the wall can at least hear, if not see.
Overall we were very happy, and everything looked beautiful.

I informed the hotel that the room was for our wedding night via- booking.com, the phone (twice), reception desk when we checked in, and even the person who helped bring my bags in earlier that day. Yet, they opened up a sofa bed in the living room, which I did not request and I did not want open. The once large room was then made to feel small and we could not enjoy the fireplace. I am not sure why they would do that if I had booked the room for only 2 people on our wedding night. Other than that, it was nice as always. I just hoped they had done a better job preparing the room for such a special night.

Our guests raved about the food and the service and the hotel was thoughtful enough to pay attention to the kind of cake we were served at our table and make sure we got a slice of the opposite flavor up in our room after the wedding. The hotel loses a star because they promised that our wedding day was OUR day, and they booked two other weddings in the building. I normally wouldn't care, but it's how they justified being the most expensive venue in downtown Chicago in their sales pitch and it would have been nice if they followed through.
It was really annoying to see two other brides and grooms getting their wedding pictures taken in the lobby when I was told we had to book the ENTIRE floor to have my wedding there. Apparently, someone else got to do a cheaper brunch in the same room hours before and another couple only needed to book a suite for the wedding night.

was perfect, it did not seem too small. The room Could probably accomodate 100 guests with no problem as there is an additional room with balcony that we only used as a lounge area. THe aesthetic is truly stunning and the service is wonderful. THe coordinators and coordinator assistants are excellent at getting back to you and making changes to any reasonable requests possible. I would highly recommend. It appears pricey at first, but you get so much for your money here. Please check out if you are just starting to check venues. We felt very honored to have our big day at the Elysian. Unique and gorgeous, not like any other hotels in the area.
