Wally was incredible! Photography was one of the most important aspects of the wedding day to me in the planning process, and Wally killed it! Not only was he incredibly personable and so easy to get along with, his photography skills were impeccable. I fell in love with pretty much every single picture he took throughout the entire night. He made everyone feel comfortable and had a great sense of calmness and humor about him that made the day seamless. He gave instruction, while making people feel loose and comfortable which was amazing. He was non stop working the entire wedding, running around trying to get the best shot and they all showed in his final products and I cannot thank him enough for capturing all of our wonderful moments throughout the entire night. If you are looking for an amazing photographer, look no further. Wally was perfect and I highly recommend using him on your special day!!

I met Walter many years ago, in the early stages of his business. He has always been such a joyful person and talented photographer, that even then I said that one day I would ask him to shoot my wedding. When the moment finally came along, sure enough I only had one person in mind to photograph the big day. Walter was so wonderful to work with, just as I knew he would be, professional and precise, creative in his compositions, and most of all enjoyable to be around. I think it's normal to be nervous if you're not used to being photographed, and especially during those sensitive shots where it's just you and your husband, but Walter created such a comfortable space for us to feel relaxed and calm, guiding us and recommending different poses throughout our secluded session. He covered the entire wedding himself, managing to truly capture every cherishable moment and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you Walter!

Had an amazing experience with Wally! He was super professional and very helpful when it came to posing! He made sure we got all of the pictures we wanted. He also did our engagement photos and they turned out amazing, can't wait to see our wedding photos! We got a small peek at his camera and they looked unbelievable!

We are so happy that we went with Wally to document the most special day of our lives. Sometimes I think the smartphone has spoiled us all into thinking that images can be captured easily by anyone. But looking through Wally's portfolio, you'll quickly realize that the best photos are a result of hard-earned talent from years of working in the field. Our family and friends were pleasantly surprised at how quickly and efficiently he choreographed a wide assortment of family and wedding party shots. I think the most telling part of Wally's stunning talent is that when we received our final package of photos, we were almost overwhelmed with the abundance of studio quality images: thousands of beautiful, high quality shots - in color, black and white, atmosphere, candids, family portraits. Months after our wedding, and we still get big smiles on our faces everytime one of his photos shows up on the screens around our house. Bottom line: Wally is a top-notch wedding photographer of the highest order and you should consider yourselves lucky if he is available to shoot your wedding. Highly, highly recommended.

We absolutely LOVED working with Walter. He was very fun and easygoing, which helped us be more relaxed for all the photos. He brought us to some great spots for photos around town and on the beach. Our bridal party thought he was a blast. We put the memories of our special day in his hands and we couldn't be happier with the pictures!

I first met Walter and his crew when he photographed my best friends wedding. I was the maid of honor so I got a first hand look at how he works. I was impressed with how smooth everything was going. As everyone knows weddings can be hectic and many things feel rushed but Walter took his time and made sure everyone was comfortable and that he captured the pictures he wanted. When the time came for my wedding I already knew I wanted him to be our photographer. My husband and I met with him and we discussed styles and locations. Walter has vast knowledge of great areas to take photos based on the location of your wedding and is always open to suggestions. Once the big day came Walter and his staff were very professional and we couldn’t be happier with the pictures. The pictures came out romantic and classy and really captured the moments of that day. We were even pleasantly surprised with many candid photos of us and guests which shows how attentive they are. We would highly recommend Walter, he’s professional, easy going, funny and an all around great guy, you won’t be disappointed!

There aren't enough great things to say about Wally.... From the moment we first met with him, we had a feeling that we had met our wedding photographer. Warm, genuine, and just down to have a great time and capture the best moments of our big day. Wally walked us through the whole process making us feel confident and worry-free on our wedding day. He and Edward hustled like crazy to capture the day from top to bottom, and just felt like an extension of our guests, having fun with everyone and getting in the mix. We just got our photos back, and couldn't be happier. My wife and I were super nervous, as we're more "behind the camera" people, and didn't want to come off self conscious or posed in our photos. We shouldn't have ever been worried knowing that we were in Wally's hands. We came away with photos that were better than anything we could have ever hoped for! Walter photographed my daughters wedding this fall. It was a big wedding with a lot of family members. Walter did an amazing job getting a photo with the whole family crew in it. We had an all white wedding and the pictures turned out so good and we are beyond pleased with them! He captured so many fun candid moments and you could really feel the vibe of the wedding thru the pictures. I can not stop looking at them!!! Beyond that what we really loved most was working with Walter. He is so much fun, comfortable to have around, very approachable, and while having very high energy, he is calm and under control at all times. Walter makes you feel comfortable while being photographed. He blended in as if he was one of our guests :) I honestly can't imagine hiring a better photographer. Walter is an amazingly talented photographer and I can not say enough good things about him or recommend him enough. In a sea of wedding photographers we really felt that Wally's style really stood out and made his work unique. We were lucky enough to have rain on our wedding day and he made the most of it. Hanging above our mantelpiece is an amazing rainy night shot that he captured where he was able to illuminate each rain drop. It's a magical shot.

I read all the great reviews, what else is there to say. We had absolutely no hesitation asking Walter to shoot our maternity session. The shoot itself a blast with the perfect weather and the location that he recommended. Add to that Walter's personality and his obvious love of his craft oozing from his persona, you end up with a marvelous afternoon. I cannot recommend Walter enough, you will not be disappointed,

Wally traveled to Cabo with us for our destination wedding. We were THRILLED with the photos! Not only are our resulting pictures one of our most treasured possessions, Wally made us so comfortable throughout the day. You end up spending as much time with your photographer as you do with your groom on your big day ;-) --so it's super important to have a good rapport. Wally is kind, patient, personable and TALENTED. I highly recommend his work and service!

Walter was at the top of our budget so we were very critical of him. He blew our minds and honestly made our wedding day! The La Valencia was a terrible place to have a reception because it was extremely hot and none of the details we planned came through but the saving grace was Walter, sweating in a very hot room, climbing on things and laying on the floor to get the right shot. When we received our photos back we were in shock at how good they looked especially with the poor circumstances. It almost made us feel better about the things we were upset about from the venue. Somehow no one looked sweaty everyone looks happy and perfect and I honestly just about every photo was full of life. We honestly do not believe we could have had a better photographer and it was money well spent.

I can’t even begin to tell you incredibly grateful I am for Wally and his artistic ability to take an amazing photo. Everyone in my family used Wally for their wedding photographer and have to say everyone was left speechless. Wally is able to capture so many beautiful moments that leave you breathless. Wow, where do I even begin? YOU MUST BOOK WALLY AND HIS TEAM FOR YOUR WEDDING. They turned what started out as a very stressful day into a beautiful collection of art that we will cherish forever. I woke up the morning of my wedding physically sick in the bathroom. When Wally and his team arrived for the "getting ready" photos, I was green and couldn't hold food down. Great timing for food poisoning right? Wally was so kind and managed to get absolutely breathtaking shots of the entire party and myself getting ready and YOU CANT EVEN TELL I WASN'T FEELING GOOD. He is magic. I have never felt so beautifully represented in photos (with underlying stomach sickness nonetheless!). The photos that we got are breathtaking. When I went searching for a photographer I wanted something different than your standard wedding photography. Of course I wanted some of the standard shots and well done photos, but I wanted something more. I wanted a little bit of art. This is Wally's forte. We still have people gushing over our photos over a year later and I had multiple brides-to-be reach out to me over facebook asking who did our photos because they are so well done. Wally listened to exactly what we were going for and knew how to lead our bridal party to get the shots he needed while allowing us to have fun goofing off and navigating requests for shots. He has incredible experience in wedding photography and knew of dozens of secret spots to capture the amazing photos that we received. A Saturday in Balboa Park?! You can't even tell there were hundreds of people around the park. We have intimate and beautiful photos because of Wally. Quality 10/10. Art 10/10. Ease 10/10. Wally's professional and fun demeanor 10/10. I cannot gush about Walter Wilson Studios enough. Everyone has nice photos nowadays, heck even iPhones can take amazing portraits now. My husband and I are beyond happy that we found Walter! First of all we are from Chicago and just got married in California last summer. We hired a photographer from Chicago originally who was not what we had expected after receiving our engagement photos. So frantically we needed a new photographer ASAP. Walter was so accommodating with our schedule and setting up a time to meet while we were out in California. My husband and I were late to this meeting and new Walter had a date with his wife... and we couldn't make him late! After 5 minutes and of course stalking his gorgeous pictures on his website we knew Walter was the guy! His personality is contagious and he is so good at what he does! He was so responsive over the phone and through email. The day of the wedding came and Walter and his second photographer Edward arrived right on time! They went above and beyond getting perfect shots of our wedding! Our family was so impressed with Walters professionalism and personality! We received so many compliments all night! My husband and I can't wait to see how everything came out! So if you are in search of probably the best photographer in California hire Wally!! everyone we met and told about having Wally as our photographer couldn't stop praising him!

We met Wally by walking our bulldog in our neighborhood. Wally has a bulldog too, so we hit it off instantly! We later learned that Wally was a photographer, 2 months later we were engaged, and 1 week later we hired him as our wedding photographer. Walter is SO talented and truly knows what he's doing. We took our engagement photos in October and they were absolutely stunning. We had so many people told us they were the best engagement photos they had ever seen. He was very flexible with the location we chose and prompt with communication. Not only is he great at taking pictures, but he is great at making you feel comfortable and coaching you on how to pose/ what will make your body type look best. When it was getting close to our wedding date, he told us it would be a good idea to meet and go over our timeline. He let us know that the way our timeline was set up, we would only have 1 hour for dancing at the end of our wedding. This was NOT what we wanted, and with his help, we adjusted the timeline and we were able to change that to 3 hours of dancing (which was obviously the best part of the night). He is a professional and has worked so many weddings, he knows what works and what doesn't, and we truly appreciated his advice and insight. He was great getting the family pictures done efficiently and stress-free, and was right in the middle of the party getting the fun and crazy shots through the end. it was the BEST decision to hire Wally for our wedding photography, I would recommend him to anyone I know getting married.

HIRE HIM. Stop your researching because Wally is THE BEST and everything you're looking for in any wedding vendor. But mainly because he takes really, really nice photos that you (and your kids, maybe) will cherish forever. 1. A vendor should be prompt and super dependable. Wally responds to your emails fast and shows up ready and on time. 2. Every vendor will say "this day is all about you" but it turns out most are lying and care way more about getting their job done and looking good. Wally totally gets it. He's patient, respectful and courteous, but also keeps you on track so you don't miss the best lighting at sunset. The way that he is able to capture your special moments without being bothersome, and even more importantly, the meticulous detail he puts in post editing, makes you his most important client long after the photo shoot is done. 3. Dude is funny and so easy to work with! Honestly, the photo sessions would've felt stiff and awkward if it weren't for his fun personality and sense of humor. He got us to loosen up which really shows in our photos too. Last two cents, our photobook (it's so beautiful and polished it could be published) is the only way we really relive the day we got married - a day that came and went so fast, we were left wondering the next day if it really happened. We're so proud and happy that we get to revisit such beautiful memories and thoughtful moments again and again. Thanks to Wally!

Walter is first class from the moment you meet him to the day he delivers your wedding photos. He does an amazing job of capturing "The Moment" at every venue and during every occasion. He took us to some amazing, handpicked locations for our engagement shoot and capped it off with an amazing wedding day. My wife is so incredibly happy everytime she looks through our photos. Just recently she discovered we were missing some of our photos and within an hour Walter had them to us. His service is impeccable, his attention to detail is outstanding. He is the no brainier of wedding and event photography.

Walter is pure talent- you can feel the passion he has for his art and it shows in his photos. Even just looking at his camera screen before any edits are made and the photos "wow-ed me". What was even more amazing was how personable Walter and his staff were. My fiance (now husband) and I were comfortable working with Walter within about 2 minutes of meeting and it made being in front of his cameras a piece of cake. He was so easy-going and also creative, directive, and thought outside of the box. We got pictures at seemingly common locations that still looked one-of-a-kind and unique. He was very responsive during the entire process, great turn-around time, and the quality of work exceeded all of our expectations. For this price point, it was a no-brainer, we got our money's worth (ten fold) and have memories to last us a lifetime, thanks to Walter. I will continue to recommend him every chance I get . I was referred to Wally by a friends wedding I was apart of and cannot recommend him enough. Wally is an absolute delight to work with and he made our wedding day completely stress free. Wally had done a few weddings at our venue in the past and was a total expert with the space. Our photos are stunning and he got them to us so quickly. There are so many wonderful comments I can share regarding Wally and his AMAZING talent. I saw some of his photos on a floral site and I was speechless at his work. When we started looking at the Walter Wilson Studios site we couldn't get over his eye to capture a moment through the camera lens. We interviewed a few different wedding vendors but kept going back to Walter as his pictures are amazing and he is a nice, friendly, easy going person to work with. On our wedding day in so many of the pictures we are laughing as he was cracking us up, which yielded great pictures. We looked like we got married in 3 different places as we did pictures at the hotel (first look), wedding venue, and then ran to the beach for sunset pics. My only problem is there are so many great pictures I do not know which ones to frame! As an added bonus, wedding guests have access to the online pictures and can also download them - how great is that! I highly recommend. Yes, he costs a little more than others - but it is worth it!

We heard about Walter Wilson Studios from a co-worker who said "If I were to get married again, I would have them shoot my wedding." That's all we needed to know! While we are not getting married in San Diego, we definitely wanted a sunset beach shoot to capture our life here. From the booking process to the shoot to the edited images, we couldn't have asked for a more seamless and fun process! We are so in love with our engagement photos, we have no clue how we'll ever choose just a couple to frame. We can't recommend them more highly!

First impression of Wally was that he's super friendly and instantly makes you feel comfortable. He brought a lot of sample work to our initial meeting (loved) and with his affordable pricing, we booked him the next day for engagement and wedding pictures. Mike (hubs) and I are not comfortable in front of a camera but Wally was so easy to work with, and he really knows how to use his surrounds to create beautiful shots regardless. We loved all of our e-pix. Our big day was 9/21/13 at Loews in Coronado. Wally arrived on time with his second shooter, Jeff, and they got straight to work. He works his butt off, he's super efficient and quick which really helps with timing. We did a first look and all of our pictures pre-ceremony in under 2.5 hours - plenty of time to spare to freshen up before the ceremony started. Wally is probably part ninja because I barely noticed him during the ceremony and reception. We were able to take some extended family photos during cocktail hour and a few sunset photos, but it never felt like we were gone from our wedding festivities for too long. Throughout the entire evening, Wally reminded me of pictures I wanted to take per the shot list I had sent him - this was awesome because my brain was all over the place and it was nice to not have to worry about whether I was getting all the shots I wanted. He even posted a few teaser photos on his blog within a week of our wedding. They were beautiful! I can't forget to comment on Jeff too - he was incredibly nice and helpful. Even our moms mentioned how friendly he was! Can't wait to see his work! Basically: Wally's friendly, very professional, organized and takes incredible photos. He works really hard to make sure he's capturing the day the way you want to see it captured. His keen eye also captures the beautiful moments you didn't expect to see. Thanks Wally!

Wow! I hired Walter to photograph my wedding at the El Cortez on 9/1/13 and it was one of the best decisions I have made! Walter is not only extremely talented, but a dedicated, crazy, hard worker as well! Walter picked a perfect spot at Presidio Park to take our first look photos, and he knew how to arrange us (my hair, my husband's suit) so we looked our absolute best! During our ceremony, Walter was everywhere obscure, including in the bushes, taking all the right shots at the right times. During our sunset photos in front of the El Cortez, he lay on the asphalt to capture the whole building. If this isn't dedication, I don't know what is! His candid shots of the reception took me back to the amazing time I had doing our first dance and later, being spun around by my husband. Walter is also very personable and easy to establish a good rapport with. He is reliable, trustworthy, and timely as well as easy going. So far, I am thrilled with the photos he has ALREADY posted on his blog! I can not wait for more! Fabulous job, Walter, and thanks for a truly fantastic day!
