LaToya has been more than our Officiant, she's also become our friend-mily! She's personable, flexible, and was always available! She performed our ceremony so beautifully and everyone loved her at the reception! You'd think we'd known her our whole lives! She's definitely the one you need to officiate, especially if you wanna keep laughter at the alter!

LaToya is the pinnacle of professionalism. My now husband and I decided to elope in New Orleans, and when searching for an officiant I immediately found Waning Moon Weddings, and I just had a feeling! We had sessions for us to get to know her and get comfortable, as well as her getting to know us. The information she gathered would make it into our very personalized ceremony. She is attentive and sweet, and even helped us during our photo session (stopping cars and all!). I would 100% recommend her services!

I cannot do justice in describing our experience with LaToya of Waning Moon Weddings. We were attracted to her business by the photos on her website of her beautiful smile. We were not disappointed when we connected with her. She made us feel special every step of the way. On the practical side, she was efficient and professional. We were planning a destination wedding in New Orleans and wanted to find a special official that we felt good to us both. From the time we video chatted with Latoya to getting to meet her in person we were absolutely in love with her. Latoya has such a warm happy personality and a beautiful smile -she did an amazing job getting to know us and incorporating our personalities into the ceremony. TLDR: Hire LaToya, period. You will not be disappointed! Esp if you're looking for an inclusive officiant who is an expert in inter-faith couples! My husband and I have very different upbringings; he is Catholic and I grew up in a very liberal environment without a specific religion and more focused on spirituality and connecting to self. I was worried about finding an officiant who could deliver on a ceremony that could balance and celebrate our two approaches to spirituality, and LaToya did just that. After our meeting with her, we learned that she grew up in the same town as my husband and even went to his high school, so it really felt meant to be! She explained ways that she could honor and celebrate both of our spiritualities to make us both feel comfortable, and boy did she execute. All of our family/friends talked about how incredible our ceremony was, raving about the beautiful way LaToya was able to weave in our spiritualities and really focus on who we are as a couple. Every time we talk to our friends/family about the wedding, they mention LaToya and the ceremony, how they aspire to have that type of love and celebration. They loved how she included them in ceremony, ensuring that our people knew they were an important part of this day. The ceremony was so authentic to the both of us, both individually and as a couple; I literally could not imagine anyone better than LaToya. I really do feel like she was meant to be our officiant, she cultivated a beautiful, welcoming space and delivered on a ceremony that made our day more special than I could've ever imagined. I can't thank LaToya enough!

My husband and I picked LaToya because we knew that we wanted someone that could offer a ceremony that didn’t feel overly traditional or cookie-cutter, something that felt unique to us and LaToya did not disappoint! We booked her pre-Covid and she was very accommodating when we had to reschedule twice. She even did the legal marriage paperwork for us on our original date while still officiating the ceremony a year later. She takes the time to get to know her clients to offer the most personalized ceremony. She’s also very organized, I appreciated the check-ins during 2020 to keep everyone updated through those constantly changing times.

Let me start by saying that I want to renew my vows asap so that Latoya can marry me again and I just got married in April 2021. My husband actually found Latoya and sent me her info. It was short notice, but I took a chance to book her. At our pre-ceremony meeting, I knew that it was destined for her to be my officiant. We hit it off instantly. She actually gave me a suggestion for a wedding venue, which was where my husband was thinking, and that's where we got married. Our ceremony was so special. Omg, I don't even know where to begin. Latoya is AMAZING. From day one and just following her on social media, I knew she was the one I wanted on my special day. Her energy is out of this world and she love to see others happy.The day of my ceremony I was running a little behind and I was devastated and when I saw her walking towards me (I swear I met a celebrity) but she made me feel at ease, she told me it happens and she just turned the worse moment in the world to the BEST. LaToya was/is amazing! It was super important to us that we had a pre-marital counselor + an officiant combo. She came recommended by our planner because I couldn't really find what I looking for, and ended up checking all of our boxes - local, accessible, affordable, & personable - AND she's funny lol! We put together a small wedding during the pandemic in a matter of weeks and she was available and wrote a short, sweet, beautiful ceremony for us. LaToya was the perfect officiant for us! We wanted our wedding to be intimate and laid back, and we wanted our officiant to get to know us personally. We were able to explain to her the vibe we wanted for the ceremony, and we talked to her about our relationship and what's important to us. She listened and incorporated that into the ceremony script. The fact that the script was a collaborative process made the ceremony that much more special. She was also punctual and extremely friendly!

I had a very intimate wedding and wanted an officiant that was professional, yet fun. LaToya fit the bill and more. She has a contagious smile that can brighten up any venue and her energy is always positive. She personalized our vibes, which truly made our wedding special. Apart from the ceremony I also went through her services for a photographer. I was nervous a little, but the photographer that ended up doing our wedding was phenomenal! Oh, I highly recommend the first look too! The photographer and LaToya showed up on time, it was an early wedding and I was truly grateful for this. I would recommend waning moon not only for officiating, but some of her other personalized services. It's well worth it, especially if you are looking to have a unique yet intimate feel for your ceremony.

LaToya was full of energy and engaging. She was through in meeting with us using Skype as we lived out of town. We gave her a pretty good rating because she arrived late for the rehearsal and the coordinator had to run through the walkthrough. Because of this, we were given two sets of directions, which made things confusing on the wedding day. She arrived 15 minutes before the start of the wedding, which was a little unnerving. We realize traffic was bad, but she should have allowed for that. It would have been nicer if she would have been in agreement with having the music play for a little longer once the bride and father walked down the isle. Even 30 seconds longer would have been a nice transition. We can recommend her for her personality, but not her punctuality.

We had a mini-destination wedding in New Orleans and afternoon only meeting us once she was able to speak so eloquently and with such warmth, she made our ceremony that much more special! Toya was EVERYTHING! My wife and I ((I Love saying that btw)) decided to simply elope. Nothing fancy. Nothing major. Just us and our 2 witnesses in a park. Perfect. Although we were downplaying it, LaToya never let us forget that no matter how small the ceremony was, this was OUR DAY!! The initial meet and greet was so chill. Her vibe is warm, welcoming, amazing. My wife and I ;) loved her immediately and we are not people’s people lol. We even had car trouble the morning of and she was extremely accommodating and patient with us. She found us a beautiful spot in the park with an amazing backdrop away from everyone. It was perfect! I could tell she genuinely enjoyed us as we did her. For our 5th anniversary we’ve decided to do the big ceremony for all of our family and friends and I will DEFINITELY be back booking with LaToya!

We hired Waning moon to officiate oue destination wedding and LaToya was the best. She worked with us to pick out a ceremony plan that matched our personalities. LaToya was very attentive, punctual and resourceful. I called her the day before the ceremony to cancel due to some paperwork issues. She told us exactly where to go and what to do. In 2 hours, paperwork complete and license in hand. We were married as planned in the park. Everything I thought was a problem was a breeze for her. It was perfect.

After a brief introduction and assessment via email, she set up a video conference with us to learn more about my partner and I. What I loved most about working with LaToya was the specialization of our ceremony. We were able to Include a lot of different elements such as the use of a lasso (which my partner’s parent’s also used when they were married) and also participating in a sage blessing. It was very important for us to also include elements of our spirituality and our religion, which LaToya was able to do effortlessly. Overall, our experience was so amazing and she really made our ceremony special. We booked Waning Moon Weddings over a year before our wedding date - immediately after securing the venue. That's how certain we were about LaToya. The warmth, love and joy literally lept off the pages of the website. She sent us some ideas about the ceremony script and suggested and affirmed some of the other vendors we'd eventually work with. We would hire LaToya over and over and over again!!!!! And then over again once more! Seriously. She is the bomb. We (being from Kansas City) were nervous about the likelihood of finding a professional in New Orleans who would be able to officiate our ceremony in a way that felt personal, spiritual, connected, and reflective of our love story. Latoya made every aspect of our wedding amazing! She understood us and what we wanted instantly and the words she spoke got "us" perfectly! It was everything we wanted and if we had to do it all over again, we'd do it the same way!

We adored LaToya, it was such a joy to work with her! When I think back on our day, the most magical moments were at the ceremony . Like many people, finding the person who would be responsible for marrying us was a daunting one. We really wanted to strike a balance between someone who would bring spirituality into our ceremony without being partial to religion, would be open and inclusive for us and our diverse community of guests, and would bring joy into the ceremony. (I also really wanted a woman to officiate us and think it is totally cool that this business is mainly female officiants!) We were considering having a friend officiate and I’m really happy with chose LaToya instead, she definitely nailed it. First, her script brought me to tears the first time I read it, after only meeting us via video chat twice. She’s the kind of person who can really hear people, understand what matters most to them, and adapt a wedding to their style in just a short time. Second, in my past experience, wedding ceremonies can be hit or miss and it often depends on the style of the officiant. LaToya filled the room with her fun personality and such a contagious energy, and the ceremony was seamless, a perfect combination of fun, heartfelt, and spiritual. She also made it interactive for our guests with a story from our engagement that tied into a count down to the kiss at the end, which totally fit our community’s personality and was a fun surprise when we read the script! Finally, we hired her about 6 or 7 months out and we found that was more than enough time to plan and coordinate. LaToya was professional and prompt in her communications and made us feel totally at ease leading up to our wedding with support on wedding license questions (we were destination) and by conducting our rehearsal with only a few weeks notice. I cherish the memories and vibrant pictures from our ceremony, and I can only send the most heartfelt thanks to LaToya for bringing out all of the love, soul, and joy in the room with us at our wedding. Our experience with Waning Moon Weddings by LaToya was excellent. We initially wanted some one close to the family to be the officiant for our wedding but didn't want to jump through all the hoops of figuring out how since we were planning our own. After some research, we stumbled upon this jewel. We knew from day one that she would be great for us. We spoke a few times via skype, phone, text messaging (we were coming from out of town) and every single time she just grew on us. By the time the ceremony came around, it was like she was a part of the family. She offered her services and ideas throughout the entire process. Even walked us through getting our marriage license taken care of. Gave us SEVERAL different options to choose from as far as the type of ceremony we wanted. We called vendors, we got quotes, we even visited venues. But still, we knew that planning a wedding for other people wasn’t what we truly wanted. We scrapped our plans for a wedding and decided to elope. Once we decided to elope, we picked a city...NEW ORLEANS! It checked all the boxes for us: food! cool tours! history! great music! We happened to find LaToya after googling vendors in Louisiana and everything else fell into place. We initially contacted LaToya in April 2019 to start the process for our May 2019 elopement. In the month that we worked with her, LaToya was responsive to emails, texts and calls and we were able to quickly schedule our initial consultation and a follow-up planning meeting. Her survey asked very thoughtful questions about us as a couple, helped her get to know us and set the tone for the type of ceremony we wanted.
