My husband and I hosted our wedding reception at the Warch Campus Center in June of 2017. We ultimately chose the Warch because of the location (we LOVE downtown Appleton) and - of... course - the breathtaking views of the Fox River.
Our experience working with the event coordinators and caterers at the Warch was very positive. All of our questions were answered in a timely and respectful manner and we genuinely felt cared for by the staff - they did an excellent job.
On our wedding day, the reception went on without a single snag. The food was phenomenal (FIVE STARS) and the space looked stunning (we reserved the Somerset Room and the Pusey Room). I still recieve compliments on the meal and the gorgeous scenery at our event.
The Warch also included a complimentary shuttle to transport our guests to hotels, which was amazing.
My ONLY criticsm of the Warch, and the only reason I cannot give a five star rating, is the level of flexibility they offered. I understand that it keeps things simple for event planners, but it would have been very relieving to have had some of our requests met with more flexibility.
My husband and I inquired about breaking up our beverage package (to serve complimentary cocktails and wine through dinner and then switch to beer only) and were told we could not. I also asked if we could space our guest tables to fill more of the empty area in the Somerset Room (the Somerset Room is HUGE and we had plenty of space leftover), and was told that was not possible.
Finally, we were not allowed to leave any items at the Warch overnight, which put a lot of work on our guests who had to help transport totes of decor and personal items back to their hotel rooms (after drinking...). We could've easily picked up our items early the next morning - and having that accomodation would've saved a lot of stress at the end of our wedding night. When I look back on my wedding, I wish so badly that we would've been offered that flexibility.
Overall, the Warch Campus Center is a DREAM setting for a reception and I wholeheartedly would book it again.
My advice to any couples considering the Warch is: book it! Just have a plan in place for your personal items at the end of the night. :)
