First off, I’m not the type of person to leave reviews for a business, but I feel as though it is important to write one for the Warwick, as a cautionary tale for other brides look...
ing for a deal on hotel blocks.
I am a Denver local. My fiancé and I are getting married in November 2018 and wanted to ensure that our 100+ out of town guests had a variety of options for accommodations. We chose The Warwick due to its proximity to our wedding venue and the ability for us to host a post-wedding brunch in their restaurant. The rooms have recently been renovated and are gorgeous and the hotel staff is highly responsive to email and phone calls. The Warwick offers two options for a room block: 1) a traditional room block (where you sign a contract and book out a certain number of rooms, and pay an amount to the hotel for the rooms left unused) or 2) a discount rate (a code that your guests can use when booking their hotel room in order to get a lower rate). After looking over both options, my fiancé and I chose and signed an agreement for option 2: the discount rate in February 2018. We thought we were getting a SCREAMING deal!
Unfortunately, this was not the case. This week, after several family members attempted to book rooms with the discount code unsuccessfully, I reached out to the hotel. My fiancé and I were given a very stressful 3-day runaround of communication in which we we were basically told that our signed agreement and discount code were no longer valid for the pre-disclosed date in February 2018 due to a HUGE outdoor show that is happening the same weekend as our wedding in November. To make matters worse, it was communicated to my fiancé that the Warwick had signed a contract to give a similar special rate to the attendees of this outdoor show, which somehow made it now impossible for us to get the rates we had previously discussed in our signed agreement.
I’m not upset at the Warwick for raising rates for this weekend in November. I get it because it will be highly profitable for them and we signed an agreement for a discounted rate, not a contract for a room block. I’m simply sad because I signed an agreement to get a special discount, and it’s no longer valid. The invalid code was incredibly confusing to many of our relatives, and honestly, made me feel really disorganized and incompetent. I would have really appreciated some sort of notification from the Warwick Staff around the change in rates instead of learning through several phone calls from my aunt and mother.
I’m also frustrated because we are now 5 months out from our wedding date, and ALL other hotels in Downtown denver have rates close to $300 a night or are completely booked out for our wedding weekend. Thankfully, Airbnb is a huge blessing!
There is not enough space in this review to give our sincerest thanks to the Warwick Denver Hotel and all they did that gave us a very magical wedding day and weekend. And after b...
elow, if we forget to thank someone, our apologies as there were many staff that assisted in our wedding planning until the wedding day.
Our event/wedding planner Victoria was absolutely amazing. For almost 8 months she stayed by us and provided such professionalism, thoughts, guidance, honesty and yet during the entire time, we really felt like she was part of our family. We couldn't have done all this without her.
There are so many details to a wedding that many may not think of and without Victoria, we may have forgotten something very important, no matter how big or small.
The Executive Lounge on the 15th floor is a perfect place to have a small to medium size wedding. We had 45 guest and was perfect. The views are amazing and the balcony is an added plus. The layout of the lounge flowed perfectly.
We had an open bar and our bartender Mikey was so right for our wedding. Our guest loved him.
Would recommend attending one of the Warwick's Wedding Open Houses as that helped us get ideas, meet some vendors, tasting, and the like. Even if you don't use them, it's a place to start.
The Hotel provided a block of rooms for some of our guest and there were some issues with that where our guest would call and say they were attending our wedding (we had a blocked room special rate) and some were told they could not find our wedding venue or they were told there were no more rooms remaining in block when in fact there were rooms left and we were within our agreed on blocked timeframe. Though no worries, Victoria was again there and helped some of our guest through. At the arrival of our guest, there were no issues. Hey, things can not always go as planned and in the grand wedding scheme of planning, stay calm and work it out.
We used their audio system and that worked great.
So many others to thank like the Banquet Manager who am sure did so much behind the scenes to assure our food was not only tasteful, though set up and displayed to perfection. The servers were great and on top of things as were the staff that worked the carving area of the roasted pig (yes, a pig and it was delicious).
Let's not forget the hotel staff to say a big thanks to; the front desk staff treated us and our guest like royalty. They even remembered our names which is always a great touch. The Concierges seemed to always be there for us as we were coming and going and very accommodating and quite nice. And a big thanks to the housekeepers, always working to keep things tip top as possible.
Am sure we could go on about everything though think you get the point that we were very pleased with everything and could not have wished, dreamed, or planned a better wedding day for us.
Cheers to all of your reading this review and best of everything in your wedding planning and wedding day.
I used the Warwick for my wedding reception and cannot say enough about the service, staff, and beauty of this hotel. It used to be the playboy club which is a fun fact that tied i...
nto our wedding and intrigued our guests. Victoria was the person we worked with from the beginning. She was detailed and responsive which is very important as my family can be kind of needy. ;) She made the process fun and easy. The entire staff at the hotel was so welcoming too. The front desk all congratulated me as I was checking into my suite (Which is included in their packages!!!) and the catering servers were quick and efficient. I know a lot of the guests had fun with the bartender Mike (?), who was also very speedy getting drinks to everyone.
The Warwick made our wedding so incredible and I cannot say thank you enough. I can’t wait to come stay again for a long weekend downtown. THANK YOU!!

The guestrooms were very vintagey and even had balconies! The bed was soft and great after a night of dancing. :) The Warwick was a great weekend get away and an even better wedding venue!
Sarah would update me on our booking numbers at various points throughout the wedding planning process. If you reach a certain number of rooms, more rewards will come your way. The...
only issue we had was that there seemed to be some miscommunication between Sarah and the staff as far as which rooms received upgrades and which ones didn't. Other than that, the place is nice and within a 5 minute walk from 16th Street Mall.
A gorgeous hotel, close to several restaurants. Our consultant was great, but the check in there was issues. The hotel has many other deals than the wedding block we offered our gu...
ests, so it was difficult to see who was staying there. It was also difficult when some guests got better rates under different deals we were unaware of! Our bridal suite was great for the night. We wished the bar stayed open longer for guests!

We had our wedding reception at the Warwick Hotel in Denver. Working with higher management staff was great and the menu tasting was a blast. I was let down when I found out our "w...
edding coordinator" wasn't going to be on site for the actual wedding. The wedding itself was pretty smooth but there were behind the scene issues that took place. I felt the general manager did the right thing by accommodating our requests to make the situation better. The entire wedding reception set up was beyond beautiful and everything looked just as we were told!
