I never understood the importance of having a good and experienced officiant until our wedding, but Derek was absolutely incredible and exceeded our expectations in every way.
From our first contact with him, Derek was kind, responsive, and very patient with answering all my questions. He really got to know us both as a couple but also as individuals too, through calls and a questionnaire. We chose to have a non-religious ceremony and even though Derek is an ordained Christian minister, he respected our wishes and put together an absolutely beautiful ceremony. It was beyond words and felt like he had known us and our relationship for years. It still makes me emotional to think about all of the beautiful things he said, and how wonderfully our ceremony flowed. He even worked with my now husband to help co-ordinate a surprise song/moment for me at the end of the ceremony.
My husband’s uncle, who is also an ordained minister who has preformed many ceremonies said it was one of the most beautiful ceremonies he has ever heard.
I remember reading his other reviews and thinking “what would be so amazing about an officiant” - well now I know. We recently got our wedding video back and it was so wonderful to hear the ceremony all over again. Derek, we want to thank you again for everything. Thank you for marrying us and for everything you did to make our wedding day as special as it was. We recommend Derek so so highly!!!
Derek did such an amazing job with our ceremony. We talked on the phone a couple times before, and he really took the time to get to know us. The ceremony he put together was so perfect, very personable to us, and seamless. We received so many compliments on him and how he conducted the ceremony! I would recommend him over and over. I wouldn’t have changed a thing! Super kind and caring man.

I am an ordained minister in the Charlotte area with over 10 years working with the Young Life Ministry.
I have been helping couples plan and facilitate their wedding ceremonies, in grand or intimate venues as an officiant since 2022. I'm originally from Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University. I've been married since 2001 to my wife, Erin and we have two boys: William and Davis.
I have been working in education for over 25 year and have a strong passion for helping couples create their perfect wedding ceremony.
