This is a bit of a mixed review because our experience with the planning process was very different from the event itself.

great—the space was perfect for a cocktail-style event, the drinks were excellent, and our guests had a wonderful time. The drinks and the incredible service from the bartenders really stood out. The staff working the event was friendly, attentive, and worked incredibly hard to keep drinks flowing all night, which made the evening run seamlessly.
Unfortunately, the planning process leading up to the event was frustrating. On several occasions, we were told one thing during meetings only to have those details change later over email, and this happened multiple times with different members of our planning team. It seemed as if our budget was not respected, as substitutions were not very flexible and often came with unexpectedly high upcharges. The inconsistent communication made the planning process feel much more stressful than it needed to be.

was unexpectedly disappointing and markedly different.
After booking the venue, there was a lack of transparency regarding additional charges, costs, and important guidelines. Information was not proactively provided; unless we specifically asked, key details were not disclosed. Throughout the year leading up to our wedding, we worked with several staff members, which made the lack of consistency and communication particularly concerning.
Most notably, our dissatisfaction increased following the wedding itself. Issues that arose before, during, and after the event were not acknowledged by the wedding staff. We did receive compensation after extensive discussions with management; however, their communication style changed greatly, suggesting reluctance in assisting us in providing a fair resolution.
For those considering this venue, I strongly recommend asking comprehensive questions and ensuring that all details and agreements are clearly documented in writing prior to securing your date.

We opted to have a cocktail style wedding instead of a traditional sit down dinner, Katie saw my vision & delivered it on the day off! Kevin was my maitre’d, he was the absolute best! there is a better view of the ocean in all of NJ with the the floor to ceiling windows throughout. Everything was perfect on the day of, from the staff coordination, food, bartenders, lighting, etc. They made the whole process from start as e as y as possible and continually put our anxieties at ease with the big decisions. Our friends and family were talking about our wedding for weeks if not months after. Also, they were very mindful of our budget and did everything they could to ensure we stayed within it by giving us options of where to go bigger or smaller to meet the perfect balance.

Especially for most of our guests who were traveling from outside of NJ, this was a PERFECT spot to unwind for a few days, enjoy the pool and beach before the wedding. The bridal suite was perfect for my bridal party to get ready in. The ceremony on the terrace was perfect and our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful everything was including the food! Our interaction with the team at The Wave was smooth, pleasant, and highly professional. Each member was extremely friendly, approachable, and dedicated to making our experience hassle-free and enjoyable. A special mention must be made about Allison, who manages the wedding and event services. Her responsive and easy going demeanor made coordinating all the details an absolute breeze. Her expertise and assistance were invaluable, ensuring everything fell into place perfectly.
The food at The Wave deserves a five-star rating on its own. Every dish was a delight, tempting the palate with a variety of delicious flavors and artistic presentation. Our guests were full of praise for the quality and diversity of the cuisine. The efficiency with which the actual day unfolded was truly commendable. Everything was so seamless and well-organized that I did not have to worry or even think about logistics. The team at The Wave took care of everything, allowing us to immerse ourselves fully in the joy and celebration of our special day.
It's worth noting that The Wave, being a resort, does not have a traditional bridal suite. This should be factored in as an additional expense if you are considering the Wave. However, given the overall excellence of their services and the available facilities, this was a minor detail that did not impact our experience negatively. The Wave more than makes up for it with its other top-notch amenities and services. The Wave Resort offers a unique blend of scenic beauty, exceptional service, and superior amenities, making it an ideal venue for a memorable wedding celebration. Allison is so knowledgeable, accommodating, and a true professional. Everyone there made my husband, our guests, and I have an incredible time that we will never forget. We also stayed there for our wedding and the front desk staff was extremely hospitable and our room was gorgeous. unch wedding would be lost among the bigger events, but the new team, including Allison and Tyra, made us feel so special and completely supported our wedding dream.
Allison is so organized and offers so many solutions from what to do with remaining balances, to how to flip the whole event space to be held in doors during a hurricane. We felt so at ease knowing she was handling the details of the day. If you are looking to have a bigger, more intricate wedding with lots of rentals or decor, I would suggest having your own dedicated coordinator, but for us, Allison was more than enough.
The day of, Tyra, the other bridal assistant, and the entire staff at Wave made me feel like all I had to do was sit back and enjoy the big day. Truly, Tyra is an absolute gem, who makes weddings at Wave Resort so special with the perfect blend of calm and confidence that allowed us to trust her with anything we needed that day. My husband and I never finished a drink because they kept bringing us fresh ones. We were so impressed with the service of the staff, who elevated the entire cocktail hour and reception from a basic brunch, to a very classy event.
Do not underestimate a brunch wedding! Our guests had plenty to eat and drink, and in better weather, the view is absolutely stunning in the day time. Despite the absolute downpour going on outside, the room was warm, full of love and laughter, and went so seamlessly that we almost forgot how disgusting it was.

ecent larger ceremony and wedding reception a few days ago in October, 2022, both were spectacular events! The venue is magical as you have your ceremony on the large terrace with the ocean as your backdrop. The sound of the waves and the beautiful view is perfection! The large windows surrounding the indoor reception space allows views of the ocean and Pier Village with its carousel and many shops. Our brunch menu was delicious! The appetizers, entrees and desserts were all wonderful! Our Director of Catering, Allison, worked with us offering ideas, suggestions and quick responses to our emails to help us plan our custom wedding. Allison, Brittnie, our Maitre d’, and Tyra, Banquet Mgr. all worked our event day of keeping everything flowing smoothly. The bonus is that they are all really nice people to work with, as well. The entire staff, from the front desk , including Patrick , Front Desk Mgr., and Kate and James, to the servers at the wedding reception were all pleasant and accommodating. In
addition, we stayed two nights and many of our guests stayed in the hotel . The rooms are immaculate, stylishly decorated and have oceanfront balconies to enjoy . I highly recommend the Wave Resort for your wedding.

Had my son's wedding, a Sunday brunch at the Wave. Was excited for the day, the ceremony went smoothly but the rest was a disaster. The cocktail hour, hardly no food was passed ou...
t that I ordered, the brunch was not set up completely, they set up an egg station with 1 person working it and I had 140 people waiting 2hrs for eggs, then after asking where the rest of the food was I was told that the chef wanted to put it out at his own pace. By the time some people got eggs, there was no bacon or potatoes left. The brunch was from 12-3pm. they served only eggs by one person till 1:45pm. then they brought out chicken and salmon, not the way it was supposed to be cooked. We got cut up chicken, which was dry and dry salmon, my menu was for chicken breast cutlet with wild mushroom and roasted tomatoes, it was a bunch of cut up leg, thighs, and breast with bones. The salmon in lemon dill sauce with sautéed spinach was just a bunch of overcooked salmon sitting in oil in a dish. We never got our carving stations. The person in charge told us she does what she is told. I spent my entire day apologizing to my guest for the lack of food that the chef decided not to serve. It was the worst Brunch, if you can call it that , I have ever experienced. Thank god I ordered the Ice Cream from The Baked Bear, so my guests got to eat Eggs and ice cream! I had many people come to my home after the wedding we ordered white castle's, everyone was hungry. They need to fire the chef and get a better matradee, she was the worst. “although they heard my complaints and concerns & in turn refunded some of my costs, no amount of money can replace a wedding day and frankly I wouldn’t trust them with yours”

and I kid you not said "this is the best wedding we've ever been to" made us so happy.
Tyra was born to be in this business. Noel has such a great understanding of this day and the importance it really represents. I am eternally grateful for how they checked in on us and the accommodations throughout the entire stay there cannot be beat.
Let me preface this by saying if you are a bride that does not think she needs a wedding planner, this may be the perfect place for you, with an extremely hospitable, professional and spectacular team, it is achievable. The food came out on time with no complaints during cocktail hour because it was phenomenal. The bartenders were fun and personable. Then we made it to dinner. 5 star presentation and out of this world execution. The chef is insanely talented and went as far as to come out so that we can thank her for her hard work and pure talent to be in this industry where food is typically bland and just "ok", she was the exception.
The suite was spectacular and the rooms were clean, airy and a fresh breath of air in comparison to the drab that you typically see at older hotels. I cannot recommend them enough nor be more appreciative.

, responsiveness, and flexibility made our decision to book very easy. Our event planner, Ryann was such a pleasure to work and truly got to know us and our vision. Our guests have been so complimentary about the food, view, experience and fun they had at our wedding. This is a hidden gem!

w date that worked for us. Ryann, the in-house event manager, was amazing the entire time - super helpful and eager to answer any questions we had, and making sure we were as prepared as possible. The day of the wedding, Ryann made sure the whole day went seamlessly and was there up to the end of the wedding. There was also someone there just to make sure that my Husband and I had our food, drinks, and were comfortable during the entire reception - which we were not expecting, but was SO great. We also stayed the night at the resort and although its pricey, its worth it - new, modern rooms and ocean views to die for! All around 10/10.

ng door and walk me to my event space to ensure I knew exactly where to go. The banquet staff was equally accommodating and on top of their game. I point this out as treating vendors this well is certainly a reflection on their corporate culture and imagine how well they treat their clients!
Incredible ambience overlooking the Ocean. Amazing food and excellent service. If you are seeking out a modern resort property with a broad range of amenities, look no further!

t Wave Resort were truly amazing people to work with and made our wedding day beyond perfect. With our original wedding plans being cancelled due to COVID-19, I reached out to Ryann less than one month prior to our event. She went above and beyond to help us plan a small wedding in such a short period of time. She was quick to respond to my emails and always happy to answer any questions I had. Ryann was so sweet and kind to us during the entire process and was one of the main reasons we became excited about our wedding again. From the moment we arrived at Wave Resort, every employee I encountered was friendly and always willing to help. Ryann, the servers and Chef Kris far exceeded our expectations for our small reception. Words cannot describe how delicious the food was. My husband and I know we will be back to dine at Wave Resort's restaurant for many anniversaries to come! We are truly so thankful and so happy we were able to celebrate our special day at Wave Resort. They made our wedding day perfect. If we had to plan our wedding again, we would choose Wave Resort over and over again.

ing to work with and made sure all of my questions were answered in a timely fashion while we planned our wedding in less than two months (our prior venue cancelled our contract due to Covid). I’m so glad we ended up here! Ryann went above and beyond the day of the wedding to make sure everything went smoothly. The servers were extremely friendly and attentive. The Wave was able to accommodate a few of our guests with kosher meals. We stayed for the weekend and enjoyed every moment at the resort. Words can’t express how thankful we are for Ryann and all she did to make our wedding special, especially during a difficult time due to COVID. We can’t wait to come celebrate our anniversaries with them for years to come! If you want to have a flawless wedding with gorgeous views of the ocean, book the Wave Resort! We are so happy we did!

We were looking for a unique venue that our families and friends...
would remember, the floor to ceiling ocean views from the room were spectacular. We ate almost every bite at our tasting and knew with the perfect combination of location & style - Wave Resort was definitely the perfect choice for us!!
We booked just three months before and our event manager Ryann, made the entire process completely stress free. She quickly responded to emails and texts I had along the way, her compassion & excitement towards us was appreciated.
The event & banquet managers were constantly making sure our reception stayed on track and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. The staff were attentive and organized and my husband I did not have to worry about ANYTHING all night. Our guests loved the food and atmosphere. We are so thankful that we will have these amazing memories for a lifetime! Thank you!!! See you in a year for our anniversary! Love C + F
