The garden was amazing, a few blooms in early April (12th) and the greenery truly popped! The house was stunning and made the best backdrop for photos. We also loved having our private dinner on the balcony. The bridal suite was cozy and great for me and my girls to get ready in. The barn/pavilion was perfect for the boys to get ready in, for guest to use the bathroom, and a rain plan alternative we always had in our back pocket.
There were so many spots for us to choose from when it came to planning where we wanted to get married and have our reception. We ended up choosing a field off to the side for our ceremony and the back lawn for our reception space (pictures provided). We absolutely loved it.
Communication was great. We were able to troubleshoot quickly and effectively to pull off the best day. Vendors were familiar with the space and were able to set everything up perfectly.
We took a star off only because Wavering Place requires you to use Southern Way for catering and Crisp for rentals. Which are on the pricey side and we felt trapped by a lot of the decisions we had to make on that end of things.
But everything else was great and we have already recommended Wavering Place to all of our friends, family and anyone else we run into on the street. :)

ng that we had found the right place! Wavering Place was the perfect outdoor venue for a wedding. We were able to create a perfect wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception on site with the aesthetic that we were looking for. They were easy to work with and accommodating to our special requests. It is a beautiful location and we highly recommend!

Amanda, the property manager, was one of the most wonderful people we have ever met and we were sad our time working with her came to a close after our wedding ended. She was incredible in all aspects and made sure that our day was perfect. She was always on-call when we needed her and if she didn't know the answer to our question, she would find it out in short order.
Lastly, the venue itself is top notch. The grounds are immaculate, the house is gorgeous, the place offers a variety of spaces to do both your ceremony and reception, and we could not have been more elated at how our wedding day panned out. Thank you again Wavering Place! You were truly wonderful.

There is plenty of parking and the venue also contains a smaller garden house in the back which could be used for the ceremony or even part of your reception. It was my dream venue and I’m still so in love with it and recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, private venue in the Columbia area. The manager is amazing and was so helpful the entire way through. They also work with a lot of great vendors that they recommend to you and are more than welcome to have you out for planning purposes or to just see the property leading up to the wedding. We had the best experience and the best wedding day at this beautiful venue!

area, and room for a tent, dance floor and band. We had over 200 guests and it went flawlessly. The grounds are historic with beautiful gardens to wander through and 100 year old live oaks to be married under. All of the vendors Lisa Adams (Wavering Place) recommended were superb and are familiar with the property. The photographs with Wavering as the backdrop were amazing. Lisa had us come out to bury a bottle of bourbon ( a southern tradition) the week before the wedding. I cannot state how seamless everything went and cannot think of a more beautiful venue in Columbia South Carolina.

venue owner, the wedding coordinator and the caterers stepped up to defend and protect all of the beautiful preparations! What a team! The mist was short lived, the event had a grant start and within a few minutes Carolina blue sky appeared.

The bridal cottage (casa cucina) was the perfect place to get dressed and have cocktails and snacks with my bridesmaids and mom before the wedding. And the Groomsmen room is very cool and relaxing for the men (to drink bourbon and beer before)! Please get married here! It will be part of you forever!
