We recently had our wedding at Wavering Place and cannot say enough good things! The grounds were perfectly manicured, the house was stunning (as always), and the fall leaves beginning to turn were the PERFECT backdrop for our wedding. Lisa, the owner, was responsive, gracious, and easy to work with. Highly recommend having a wedding here!!!

We looked at a number of outdoor venues before 'landing' at Wavering Place. We spent some time with Lisa, the owner, and Amanda from Southern Way and we walked away with the feeling that we had found the right place! Wavering Place was the perfect outdoor venue for a wedding. We were able to create a perfect wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception on site with the aesthetic that we were looking for. They were easy to work with and accommodating to our special requests. It is a beautiful location and we highly recommend!

Everything about Wavering Place was incredible! They were easy to contact from the start, quick to respond, got us in to tour the venue very quickly, and answered all of our questions we had.
Amanda, the property manager, was one of the most wonderful people we have ever met and we were sad our time working with her came to a close after our wedding ended. She was incredible in all aspects and made sure that our day was perfect. She was always on-call when we needed her and if she didn't know the answer to our question, she would find it out in short order.
Lastly, the venue itself is top notch. The grounds are immaculate, the house is gorgeous, the place offers a variety of spaces to do both your ceremony and reception, and we could not have been more elated at how our wedding day panned out. Thank you again Wavering Place! You were truly wonderful.

We are so grateful for this venue and the people running it! They helped make our day so special. The venue is in perfect condition and the surrounding gardens and buildings are well-kept and beautiful for photos. The light is so stunning here, and is perfect for an outdoor wedding. There is plenty of parking and the venue also contains a smaller garden house in the back which could be used for the ceremony or even part of your reception. It was my dream venue and I’m still so in love with it and recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, private venue in the Columbia area. The manager is amazing and was so helpful the entire way through. They also work with a lot of great vendors that they recommend to you and are more than welcome to have you out for planning purposes or to just see the property leading up to the wedding. We had the best experience and the best wedding day at this beautiful venue!

Wavering Place is ideal for any celebration. My daughter was married there in April 2022. The property is enormous with spaces for the ceremony, cocktail hour, covered reception area, and room for a tent, dance floor and band. We had over 200 guests and it went flawlessly. The grounds are historic with beautiful gardens to wander through and 100 year old live oaks to be married under. All of the vendors Lisa Adams (Wavering Place) recommended were superb and are familiar with the property. The photographs with Wavering as the backdrop were amazing. Lisa had us come out to bury a bottle of bourbon ( a southern tradition) the week before the wedding. I cannot state how seamless everything went and cannot think of a more beautiful venue in Columbia South Carolina.

Wavering Place was the most beautiful place to get married!! Lisa and her family made sure everything was 100% perfect the day of! We had no problems! Lisa even made an amazing breakfast for us the next day after we spent the night there!

This venue is magical!! I have always dreamed of getting married at Wavering Place and it exceeded every expectation. From getting ready in the bridal cottage to dancing the night away in the green house, it couldn't have been more perfect. We loved working with Lisa, she was wonderful! Wavering Place is a special hidden gem near Columbia and we could not have been happier!

A beautiful experience during our sons wedding October 20, 2018 was had by all! We had a slight setback of rain mist shortly before the events of the evening were to begin but the venue owner, the wedding coordinator and the caterers stepped up to defend and protect all of the beautiful preparations! What a team! The mist was short lived, the event had a grant start and within a few minutes Carolina blue sky appeared.
The evening became more dreamy has the night went on!

WOW! What an amazing and very special place. Kyle and I were married here on October 11th, 2014 and it was such a wonderful (and perfect) day. Our family and friends still talk about how beautiful it was. The owners have become true friends and we consider ourselves very honored to be a part of the Wavering Place family. The bridal cottage (casa cucina) was the perfect place to get dressed and have cocktails and snacks with my bridesmaids and mom before the wedding. And the Groomsmen room is very cool and relaxing for the men (to drink bourbon and beer before)! Please get married here! It will be part of you forever!

It is a family place and we actually had our rehearsal dinner here over 30 years ago when it belonged to "Uncle Julian". I have a background in architecture and hospitality design and grew up in a creative family of cooks, caterers and general, all around party planners!! I also spend time painting in my studio when I can.
