we chase the light

We don't have our wedding photos back yet, but I don't even care, you guys need to know how awesome Autumn is. It was FREEZING on our wedding day (in April, yay Kansas) and not only did Autumn handle it like a champ, she helped us and our entire wedding party handle it like champs! What I loved most (besides her awesome photography talent and style) is that Autumn fit in our wedding so perfectly; she was another family member there helping us celebrate. We'd willingly go outside in 30 degree weather with 35 mph wind gusts ANYTIME for her!

Autumn is absolutely amazing. She captured every moment we wanted perfectly. She is a true professional, but also knows how to have fun. She got every shot we wanted and then some. Plus she was super flexible with our schedule.

Autumn (we chase the light) is an absolute gem. It's so amazing we have her talents here in the little town of Manhattan, KS! Autumn shot our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos, and she took us two camera-shy folks and made us look AMAZING. She has such fantastic rapport with her subjects, and we are so comfortable with her behind the camera. She was so incredibly patient at our wedding when getting my husband's family together was like an Olympic game of herding cats! Autumn's talents behind the camera and easy-going professionalism make her a real treasure! We hope to hire her again for family shoots in the future!

We run an Event Venue (Dillon House Events, LLC) and have the opportunity to see many different photographers, for multiple events. On May 30th this year, we hosted a Wedding reception for about 250 people, and Autumn Shoemaker (dba "we chase the light") was the couples choice. Her commitment to getting the right/best shot in a very hectic environment was more than impressive. She demonstrated stealth so as not to disturb the guests, cunning to capture some very precious moments, and intense creativity in using the venue as a backdrop for some of the most impressive photos we have seen so far. She has an ability to see beyond what is just there, but can visualize what it might be is shot "just this way". Her works in both brilliant color, and nostalgic black and white hearken back to days gone by. Very appropriate in a 104 year old venue. She is a consummate professional, that appeared to be very much in sync with the bridal couple and their families. We would be thrilled to have her do MANY more weddings and receptions at the Dillon House, or wherever you choose to hold your special day. While we are already a Historic Venue, Autumn Shoemaker and "We Chase The Light" will soon become both Historic, and Epic. WOW!

I can't say enough good things about Autumn. Leading up to the wedding, she was very responsive to any phone calls or emails to discuss plans. On the day of the wedding, I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. Autumn is very communicative and helpful. She was so fun and laid-back; she put my husband (who hates posing for pictures) at ease, and so many of my friends and family said they loved working with her. Finally, the photos she took turned out absolutely beautiful. So many of the pictures are so lovely, we're having a hard time deciding which ones to print for framing! It's a great problem to have. If we ever have need, I would hire Autumn again in a heartbeat!
