Let's start by saying I'm definitely not a fan of cakes. I usually think they are too dry, the frosting is too sugary, etc. I've never really enjoyed cake at all. When I tasted our cake, I was thrilled! It tasted nothing like I had ever tasted ...before. My only negative comments were about the cake topper. My now-husband and I had opposite opinions: he wanted traditional and I wanted modern. We finally found a compromise, but we also needed something for the 2nd tier (to accent the pillars for the top tier). The day of the wedding, the cake topper was placed on the cake table (next to the cake) and the item we had for the 2nd tier was placed on top of the cake. I also had a candle that was left in the plastic wrap and placed on the table unopened (looking somewhat cheap and tacky). As far as the cake goes, it couldn't have been done any better!! I was just somewhat disappointed that things hadn't been done the way they had been discussed/decided. I was also very confused why the candle was left in the plastic wrap, making the extremely elegant cake looking a little cheap. Overall I was extremely thrilled, and those are small details that won't be remembered in the long run. I would highly recommend Brenda, as long as you are willing to trust in her professional opinion and give her a little free reign to showcase her abilities. Though the directions weren't followed 100%, the changes that she made looked beautiful and I was happy with how the cake ended up looking. The thing I'm the happiest with: we had way too much cake, and there was a whole extra tier left for us, so we have our anniversary layer to eat in a year, but we have a layer that we can eat in the meantime!!
