We couldn’t have been happier with our choice of wedding officiant! From the very first meeting, Jeff made us feel comfortable as he was very easygoing and easy to talk to. We had a few premarital counseling sessions with Jeff and he did a wonderful job mediating the discussions. He is very knowledgeable and took his time to hear us, understand, and talk to us through various topics. Jeff provided several different templates to choose from on what style of ceremony we were looking for. Religious, Contemporary, Religious-Lite, and Agnostic to name a few. We went with Contemporary and then picked our vows, readings and tradition to put in the template. The ceremony itself was beautiful and heartfelt, and it was clear that Jeff is a true professional who reviews the script several times and puts a lot of time into making sure each ceremony is unique to the couple. We did not have Jeff at our rehearsal, so we met him the week of the wedding at a nearby coffee shop. He reviewed the script with us, but also gave us suggestions (“staging instructions”) to ensure beautiful photos and seamless flow! Several people during our reception commented on how well the ceremony was officiated and we couldn't agree more! Jeff was funny and engaged with the guests a few times as well. We never had any doubt about saying “I do” to each other and Jeff was a big part of that!

Jeff is simply the best there is. Leading up to our wedding, Jeff was so professional and kind and effortlessly helped us create a ceremony that reflected who we are. We even met up for a quick ceremony run through that helped us see how everything would flow on the day of. After our ceremony, multiple guests approached us to tell us that Jeff was the best officiant they had ever seen at a wedding. We feel exactly the same way. We hired Jeff as a secular/non-religious officiant for our wedding ceremony on 4/5/2024 at District Winery in Washington, DC and he certainly did not disappoint! Multiple guests told us it was one of the best wedding ceremonies they have ever attended....sweet and emotional, yet funny in the right places, and not too overly serious/stuffy, which was exactly what we wanted. One of the best parts was that he provides you with many different ceremony templates for you to pick and choose different elements from to create your own ceremony, with his input and help of course if you want it. He also took tons of time to get to know you as a couple, and weaved some of these elements into the ceremony. He also gave very prudent suggestions and recommendations for things to include in the ceremony, and was always available for calls and through email...he was even out of the country on vacation for about a week leading up to our wedding, and he still answered our emails within a day. He has also done a ton of weddings at our venue, District Winery, so it was great having that peace of mind that he knows how our venue runs weddings. He also very kindly offered, without us even asking, to attend our wedding rehearsal when we told him we were nervous and having some issues working out some kinks with our venue. Also, once we obtained the marriage license, he took care of submitting the paperwork properly, which is a huge peace of mind. We really can't recommend him enough for anyone in the DC area looking for an officiant!

Jeff was great. He did our certificate signing for us and even helped out our first time officiant when she was looking for some feedback on her script. His attention to detail was great and his knowledge was immense. Jeff was very pleasant to work with. He meet with us when it was convenient in our schedule and took great care to explain the whole marriage license process in great detail. Jeff was on a list of officiants we wanted to interview, and luckily he was at the top of our list -- because after our initial interview with him we signed him! He was extremely personable and made us feel very comfortable. He gives you a bunch of different templates from traditional, contemporary, and religious to mix and match your ceremony, so you can have it as religious/traditional as you want it to be. My husband forgot our marriage certificate at home, but Jeff was able to meet us and get that done for us without delay. I would recommend him to anyone!

Jeff is amazing! We did not have him as a ceremony officiant but had him sign our marriage certificate. He was extremely responsive and professional and was able to meet us at a date, time and location that was convenient for us. Even though it was just a signature and formalities, he still made it feel special and was so warm and friendly. He walked us through all the paperwork which was extremely helpful as well. We did realize he officiated our friends wedding and he did an amazing job at their ceremony! Jeff has so much experience and is a true professional!

His personality is so charismatic and personable -- from our first call with him about a year prior to our wedding, we knew he was the officiant we'd been looking for! Jeff knocked it out of the park! My husband and I aren’t part of an organized church so we asked our wedding planners to recommend an officiant for our wedding day. After reading Jeff’s BIO on his website, we felt so emotionally connected to his story that we replied to the intro email stating that “we knew he was the right person for us” all before we ever had a chance to speak with him! Thankfully our gut was right! The process matters! Jeff followed up quickly to schedule a 60 minute video call with us the following week. He made us feel at ease from the very start. He asked us questions about our lives as individuals, our families, puppies, hobby’s, interest’s and some of the logistics for our day. We felt so comfortable with his genuine interest and delivery that we shared some personal stories we didn’t expect to share during that very first meeting. There was no doubt by the end of our call that this guy was/is a subject matter expert in the world of weddings! Jeff sent us a follow up email that night with examples of various readings, vows, poems and other unique cultural ideas to consider for our ceremony. Our next call was about a month later. We sent him our feedback on the ideas we loved and he walked us through each verse while incorporating his incredible humor where it made sense. He made kind hearted suggestions regarding placement of the more emotional moments expressing love for those we lost then he explained how he’d lift the room back up so that the rest of the ceremony would be about the celebration of our love! A couple weeks before our wedding day he met us at the venue while doing our first walk through with the planners. Jeff provided insight on more than just the ceremony. We were so thankful for his level of experience from so many different venue scenarios. He guided us on what type of lighting would work best, what to discuss with the photographers, sound and microphone techniques, and even the best way to manage the train on my dress! Yes, we had planners but it was Jeff who left no gaps to fill and put us at ease during an otherwise chaotic time! Jeff officiated our ceremony with ease and command of our 150 guests. He made us laugh. He made them laugh and he was an absolute pro at reading the room to adlib off script when the tears were flowing. Undeniably the best person we could’ve had standing by our side on our wedding day. My advice to anyone just starting to plan their wedding... meet with Jeff first. He's a great officiant with the value add of being a wedding SME. I wish I had his long list of good and not so good vendors he's worked with over the years from the very beginning!

Jeff is the best! We had premarital counseling before the ceremony, and I think it not only prepared us better for the beginning of our marriage, but also made the ceremony better! He incorporated so much of who we are and what we love in the ceremony and I adored it! Jeff is a must for any couple!

We are an engaged couple and used Jeff to assist with pre marital counseling. I can not recommend him enough. He went above and beyond to help us. It was not only your basic counseling on finances and communication but also a deeper look at your relationship and future marriage. He truly cared in helping us be prepared as possible on this adventure and we felt like we were talking to someone who was wise friend, pastor, relative. He truly cared. We met with Jeff a total of 6 times and he was willing to meet with us via zoom due to our schedules and time zone differences. If you’re looking for someone who can guide you, listen and be there for you, please consider using him for your pre marital counseling! He’s been invaluable to us!

Jeff was BY FAR the best option we could have had as our officiant. He met with us several times via Zoom to discuss exactly what we wanted and didn't want in our ceremony, down to the smallest of details (who is in the party, what role they play, what is to be mentioned about parents/siblings, what exact readings/blessings should be read, etc.). He sent us various sample ceremonies, readings, and blessings of different cultures, faiths, and spiritualities for us to pick and choose from for our own unique ceremony. He was extremely thorough, and made sure he knew us on a personal level as well - even as far as including our fur-children in our ceremony! He also attended our rehearsal to make sure everybody in the party knew their role, where to stand, what to do, etc. On the day of our wedding, our DJ got stuck in traffic, and Jeff stepped right up with a bluetooth speaker and microphones to save the day! No guests even knew we had an issue because it was taken care of immediately by Jeff and our wedding planner. (He says he always prepares for something to go wrong so that the bride and groom never have to worry!). He made our guests cry happy tears, he made them laugh, and most importantly, he made my husband and I a truly perfect wedding ceremony! If you needed a sign to hire him as your officiant, HERE IT IS!!

Right from the start, Jeff made an effort to get to know me and my now husband in order to craft an extremely personalized wedding ceremony. He also provided tons of great information to help us decide what we wanted in our ceremony and about the process to obtain a marriage license. What we ended up with was a ceremony that was unique to us as a couple (and our love of dogs). Jeff is professional, patient, and fun to work with. He allowed us to put our worries to bed, and simply led us through the ceremony, and the process before and after the event, including how to get the VA marriage license (as we are not from the state). He makes us fee comfortable and just happy!

If we dreamed up the perfect officiant, it would be Jeff! He was punctual, professional, funny, and thoughtful throughout our whole process and we had a very long process. Due to COVID, we ended up having to change our wedding date 3 times including a last minute cancellation 24 hours before our second date. Jeff was a trooper throughout all of this and even revised our ceremony the night before so that it reflected the change in plans when we did our first small ceremony in front of just immediate family. He was open to hearing our thoughts on our ceremony and flexible to meet our needs. He didn't try to push or force his views or agenda and focused on what we wanted for our special day and worked to make it happen. Jeff helped make our ceremony perfect - personal, sentimental, emotional and personal. We loved that Jeff got to know us and weaved it into the ceremony. We had several guests tell us that it was the best ceremony they've ever witnessed and we couldn't agree more! The best way to describe how awesome Jeff was during our wedding ceremony is to provide this anecdote. Jeff worked with us over several zoom calls and e-mails to craft the perfect script for a nondenominational ceremony for our outdoor wedding. My 78 year old religious and hard-to-please immigrant mother had been wary of us not getting married in a church. Jeff not only made her laugh during the ceremony (unheard of!) but afterwards she could not stop talking about how great it was that Jeff was able to lighten the mood because she and all of us were a bit weepy during the ceremony. There were several unplanned moments that could have made things go awry (some rather gusty winds, some unruly children, etc) but Jeff kept calm and used his sharp wit to make it all seem well choreographed. This wasn’t slapstick humor - it was smart and hilarious that clearly even appealed to the harshest of (mom) critics. We couldn’t imagine our special day without anyone else. We also grateful we found Jeff and highly recommend him!!

We’ll just start out by saying that if you are looking for someone to help you make your wedding the absolute best day it could be, then look no further, just call Jeff. When we spoke to Jeff for the first time (by the way, we planned our wedding during Covid lockdown, so our first “meeting” with Jeff was a video call), we were so impressed by how personable and warm he is, and how he immediately made us feel like we were in good hands with him. If you are planning your wedding, you know how overwhelming it can feel at times, but Jeff’s calm, confident and professional manner made us immediately feel we had the right resource to help us be successful. Jeff provided us with a great deal of information and ceremony templates which we used to tailor our ceremony to suit us and what we wanted it to be. He was able to answer all of our questions about licensing and how to record our marriage and even provided us with resources to use to get through the process of changing a name. Of note, when we were getting our marriage license (we got married in Washington DC), once the gentleman at the licensing office found out our officiant was Jeff, he assured us that Jeff knew all the procedures to get things done in DC and that Jeff’s reputation was to get his marriages documented quickly and correctly! Talk about peace of mind! Although our ceremony was held at a historic location in DC (DAR Constitution Hall), we had opted for a simple service that focused on our love for each other and on our families and close friends, so we did not have a formal rehearsal before the wedding; however, Jeff showed up on the morning of our wedding and made everything we had talked through in advance happen flawlessly! He was warm, funny (we had more than a few laughs during our ceremony which put us at ease), extremely professional, and confident throughout the ceremony. He communicated both the importance of what was occurring and the promise of our future together through his actions, demeanor, and words. He absolutely nailed it! All the 5-Star reviews are accurate and true - Jeff is an experienced professional officiant who provides a perfectly tailored ceremony that will suit you on your most important day. We worked with Jeff to do some pre-marital exercises in addition to having him do our ceremony and I can't say enough about how he supported us through the entire process. During the pre-marital sessions, we did some exercises to better understand the nuances of our personalities and how we can better support one another through communication. This wasn't "counseling," ( although I think he is qualified to help you there as well ), but rather tools that can help couples enrich their relationship. We both found this very insightful and helpful. We next worked to plan our ceremony with Jeff. First, he provided several candidate ceremonies covering the spectrum of types of wedding ceremonies (religious, not religious, serious, less serious, etc.) and he gave us suggestions as to overall flow, timing and content. Because he had gotten to know us through the pre-marital work he was able to really understand what we were looking for, and it really showed on our wedding day. We wanted our ceremony to be a "Goldilocks" ceremony from the standpoint of having the "just right" amount of religious content to be respectful of each other's beliefs as well as those of our families. More importantly, we wanted it to be sweet with a little bit of humor sprinkled in the right places. Simply put, Jeff nailed it. Just when we thought our mothers would start plowing through the boxes of tissues we had put next to them, Jeff would lighten the mood with a little humor that would evoke some chuckles from everyone present. Afterwards, nearly every person asked us, "Where did you find that officiant? He was AMAZING!" So, in summary, I can confirm the glowing reviews. Jeff did an incredible job officiating our wedding! When we were 90 days out from our wedding, we had to terminate our contract with our initial officiant. Jeff was recommended to us and when we reached out asking if he was available, we were extremely grateful when he said yes! Jeff literally saved the day! The experience we had with Jeff was absolutely incredible. If I could leave more than a 5 star review I would. 2 weeks later we still have guests telling us how much they loved him! He answered all emails at least within 24 hours, most of the time within an hour our two. He totally matched my husband and I's personality and made that apparent in our ceremony. While we got to choose from the templates he provided, we wanted something meaningful but fun and he delivered. He was able to include our dog in the ceremony when we couldn't have him at the wedding, and added sentimental additions to surprise my husband and I and they were perfect! It was a pleasure working with Jeff on our ceremony!  He is very responsive and is clearly a pro at what he does.  The ceremony is such an important part of your wedding and we had no idea where to start.  Jeff provides extremely helpful templates as a guide and from there you can customize the ceremony to your liking. My husband and I wanted some religious elements/prayers but at the same time wanted to keep the ceremony modern and like "us".  Jeff gets to know you as a couple and of course personalizes the ceremony to you as a couple.   He also provides guidance on the process for obtaining your marriage license prior to your wedding and also follow up information after your wedding re: name changes, etc. so no stone is left unturned.   As far as the actual ceremony, one of our guests commented that this was the best ceremony she has ever witnessed.  Jeff is very light hearted and humorous and a great speaker.  My friends and family commented how detailed and helpful he was with the little things, such as best angles for photographs and overall so the ceremony is smooth and effortless.  He is also very familiar with tons of venues in the area and has likely worked with your DJ before. My husband and I also did some pre-marital counseling sessions with Jeff which I highly recommend!
