About this vendor
Mia of Wedding Dance North County believes your first dance shouldn’t feel counted, it should feel felt. With nearly 20 years + of professional dance experience, she helps couples move with the music, trust each other, and stay fully present in the moment, rather than worrying about counts.
Her teaching style is warm, intuitive, and beginner-friendly, making even the most nervous couples feel at ease. Instead of drilling counts, Mia focuses on musicality, connection, and natural movement, so your dance looks effortless and feels authentic. Couples often say their first dance became one of the most meaningful moments of their wedding, not because it was technically perfect, but because it truly reflected who they are together.
Whether you’re dreaming of a romantic slow dance, a timeless waltz, or a playful mash-up, every lesson is custom-built around your story and your comfort level. The goal is simple: you leave each session feeling confident, connected, and genuinely excited to dance together on your big day and take the art of dance with you forever.

In short - Mia is AMAZING. The dance she choreographed for us had our guests in tears! 5/5 stars across the board.

orm a choreographed dance for our First Dance at our wedding, and we wanted it to be a surprise for our guests. However, we both have 2 left feet when it comes to dancing, have had zero dancing instruction of any kind in the past, and had no idea what we were doing.
We found Mia based on recommendations from reviews online. Mia was incredible to work with, and helped progress us beyond anything we could have ever imagined. Her vast experience as both an instructor, choreographer, and performer are very evident. Mia helped us to boost our confidence while continually challenging us to push ourselves, all the while having a great time during lessons.
When we danced at our wedding, our guests were in tears they were so shocked. We received a ton of compliments on our performance, but I credit 100% of those compliments to Mia's incredible work.
5/5 stars, would absolutely recommend!
We are so grateful to have had Mia as our dance teacher for our wedding. We had her choreograph our first dance along with my mother/daughter dance as well.
She was so attentive ...
to our needs, questions, concerns, and made sure to keep the dance in line with our personalities. I would absolutely recommend Mia to ANYONE who is maybe unsure if they want a dance instructor for their wedding. I did not think we needed one, but am SO glad we ended up going to her. She is sooo sweet and extremely talented! She always made us feel comfortable, gave us so much positive reinforcement, and we walked away from the experience feeling completely confident with our dance. We only did 4 lessons (we waited until the last minute lol) and she was still able to pull it off. We can’t wait for everyone to see it this weekend.
THANK YOU Mia, you are truly incredible.

al — an intro class, the 6 class package and 2 one-offs and we have ZERO regrets that we did. We started off not knowing anything about dancing and ended up with the most beautifully choreographed first dance.
Mia choreographed the whole dance, listened to our goals and adapted the choreo as needed to our abilities and timing. Our audience was wowed by our performance, and we couldn’t have wanted anything more.
I highly recommend going with Mia if you are looking to learn to dance, especially for your first dance.

d an almost 3-minute routine that was perfect for our song and was very helpful making tweaks here and there to make us feel the most confident with the steps. She was so much fun to spend time with and was really thoughtful about giving us instructions to help us nail the dance. She also had the perfect timeline, so by the time we left for our wedding we knew the dance by heart. Our first dance ended up being one of our favorite parts of the whole wedding day!
Mia made our vision for a mother-son mashup dance come together!
She helped us find our moves and encouraged us!
So much fun!
My wife and I took our wedding dance lessons with Mia at North County Dance, and we honestly could not have asked for a better experience. From our very first session, Mia made us ...
feel completely comfortable and confident—even though neither of us had much dance experience.
She tailored each lesson to our song, our personalities, and the vibe we wanted for our first dance. Her teaching style was patient, encouraging, and fun, and she had this amazing way of breaking everything down so it never felt overwhelming.
By the time our wedding day arrived, we not only knew our routine perfectly, but we actually looked forward to dancing in front of everyone. It ended up being one of the most special moments of the night, and we owe that entirely to Mia.
We can’t recommend Mia and North County Dance highly enough—whether you’re preparing for your wedding or just want to learn to dance together, she’s the best!

’s jaws were on the floor. We had people coming up to us after saying “Where did you learn to do that?!”
Not only was Mia super patient with the groom’s two left feet, but she was a genuinely kind and fun person to learn dance with. We gave her the songs and she did the rest! She remixed the songs, designed every detail of the dance routine (synchronized with the music, mind you) and then got us so dialed into the routine that we had time left over to learn different dance styles as well!
Whether you’re looking to impress an audience with a routine or just want to learn how to move a bit better on the dance floor, we highly recommend Mia if you’re lucky enough to book her!
Here is your review: (which is amazing!!!!)

I were already taking lessons with Mia and while it meant driving to and from Orange County for lessons we convinced them that the drive would be worth it as she is the best! And she was! Mia had our whole family ready and it was the greatest experience we could have hoped for.
Anyone who wants dance to be a meaningful and fun part of their wedding should seek the training of Mia! She is talented and has the personality to make everyone feel confident. We can’t say enough about her. We are still continuing our lessons even after the wedding!
