Wedding Dance San Diego helps couples learn to dance confidently for their wedding dance with private lessons, group classes, custom choreography, song editing, and parent dance lessons. Couples can choose any style of ballroom, Latin or swing dance, and even get last-minute "emergency" wedding dance lessons. Lessons and entertainment are also available for bridal and wedding showers, rehearsal dinners and cocktail hours.
Wedding Dance San Diego was established in 1991 and is located in Encinitas, CA in coastal North County San Diego.
When owner, Liz O'Grady, began teaching ballroom, she quickly saw that wedding dance students were not being served in the best way. Couples had little time. They needed well-chosen moves that were easy but also exciting for an audience. They needed to focus on just their song. And they needed to know how to get over nerves and feel confident in the spotlight.
All of this led Liz to design a system that specifically addresses the wedding dance dilemma: to help non-dancers perform (and enjoy!) a graceful "show" in a short time.
The process she developed now produces outstanding results every time, whether students have months or only days to learn to dance. It matches steps with students' regular movement style so that ease and elegance happen quickly and naturally. Students master dance moves they love (and can use forever), and they feel confident for their performance on one of the biggest days of their lives.
About Your Instructor
Liz O'Grady has been teaching American Style Ballroom, Latin, and swing dance for over two decades. With a BA in music and ongoing study of personal development, learning styles, brain science, and coaching, she has developed a magical blend of teaching for new dancers. Part "dance evangelist," part cheerleader, part gentle coach, her students are forever freed from having "two left feet."

a very warm and encouraging instructor and helped put those of us that were less inclined to dance (my father and husband) at ease. She gave us a choreographed dance that was reasonable for our skill level, but somehow made it look dramatic, fun, and beautiful! Not to mention, it was to a non-typical first dance song, so she had to be creative with the styling (she said she'd never had anyone recommend our song before and she was excited to create a dance for it)! On top of that, she was thoughtful about our dance floor spacing and entrance location. We both didn't like the idea of someone judging our terrible dance prowess, but she made it fun, and dance lessons felt like a little enjoyable date night! She was kind, not judge-y, helpful, and would take videos for us with a voice-over so we could follow the videos & suggestions when practicing on our own! She is an angel and an absolute joy!
