I’m Margaret Young, your Wedding Officiant Extraordinaire from Isanti, Minnesota.
I truly am the person who gets to stand between you and your LEGAL Marriage Celebration!
I bring 40+ years of public speaking to your wedding day, which means I can handle anything- happy tears, nervous vows, runaway flower girls, or that fainting Bridesmaid.
Before becoming a wedding officiant, I spent years in hospitality, which trained me in the ancient art of smiling, nodding, and making everyone feel calm & comfortable even when things go a little sideways (which is a possibility no matter how much you plan!)
I’m now in my 15th year of officiating weddings, and here’s my not-so-secret formula:
I ask you questions, I listen carefully, and then I turn your love story into something that feels like you, not a cookie cutter ceremony. Then I deliver the ceremony in an articulate, well spoken, expressive and well-rehearsed way.
My ceremonies are heartfelt, personal, and just funny enough to make your guests relax and enjoy the moment.
If you adopted a newly ordained minister, who is staring at a blinking cursor thinking, “Why did I agree to this?” don’t panic. I also ghostwrite 👻 ceremonies, slipping beautiful, meaningful words into their hands so they look like a poetic genius. You’re welcome.

For decades I worked in Hospitality and during that time I have participated in hundreds of wedding celebrations as Banquet Captain, Server, and Bartender. One day , after watching a mature lady come into the hotel , donning a clerical robe, and conducting a short ceremony, I thought "I can do that"! So I did. For 14 years now. Sans robe. Over 390 Ceremonies!!!!

We had a few complications while building the ceremony since we are both non-religious but the bride’s family is highly religious. Margaret understood how to walk that line for us with a prayer or two and a few bible verses to fulfill the bride’s wish of incorporating a blessing to the marriage. She was open to any suggestions and really went with the low-key feel we wanted our ceremony to be. On top of everything else, she was willing to make a last minute change to join us at the rehearsal dinner (across the state) to walk through with the bridal party so everyone knew where to go and what to do. It was herding cats for sure, but she did it! Margaret, Luke and I want to thank you so much for the memorable ceremony, putting up with our large families, and helping me out as I breakdown during pictures. We both truly appreciate it!

We had a short ceremony in a dinner setting for 100 guests in a hotel banquet room. ny. She was really good about meeting with us, working with us, and making sure the ceremony included everything we wanted. We wanted our 5 month old daughter to be apart of our ceremony and she helped us incorporate our daughter so she was part of our day as well! She was on time, super kind, helpful, and interacted with the wedding party and family great too! After our ceremony we got SO many comments on how much everyone liked it and how great of a job she did! If you want a perfect, thoughtful, beautiful, ceremony, I'd highly recommend having Margaret perform your wedding ceremony!!
