Called Neil few months ago to set up a ceremony. He agreed after our phone convo and I was told to send a email with details. I did shortly afterwards. But never received a response. Now, which is a few months later and a month from my wedding. I received an email from his wife saying he's in a fragile state and unfortunately cannot perform my ceremony. Luckily I was able to find a officiant after a few months of not hearing from him to officiate my wedding. I understand being ill better than anyone I've fought my own battles. But,if I knew I was not in the best health I would not offer services I cannot provide and save people some time and stress especially when wedding planning.
Same as the below review, we had booked Neil to officiate our service back in August. Our wedding is in October, and I reached out to him about 6 weeks ago to see if there was anything to get started on. After several and email attemps, we still never heard anything back from him. Not wanting to risk it, we went ahead and booked a different officiant. I did end up losing my $50 deposit. I have no idea what is going on with Neil, but I would NOT reccomend using his services.
**Update- after mailing a letter to Neil's address, I received an email from his wife. Neil is very sick and hospitalized. She has returned my deposit.
My wedding is next weekend (Saturday, May 3rd) and we had to cancel our services with Reverend Neil. From the get-go, his communication was lacking, I didn't think much of it because I don't know how the process works, so I figured as we got closer we would talk more. 2 weeks before the wedding, I emailed him and waited 4 days and did not hear anything from him. I called and left a voicemail asking for a return call to discuss our day, and he did not return my call within about 24 hours. The Friday before our wedding, I called and left another voicemail urging him to respond to my communications, hoping for a call back that same day to put me at ease, and nothing. Saturday afternoon, we emailed him to let him know we had found a replacement, and now it is the Monday before our wedding, and nothing to apologize for his lack of communication. I usually don't write reviews, but I felt this had to be posted as I wouldn't want anyone else to have to go through this, especially so close to their wedding day. We are 'lucky' to have it in May I guess where there were options for other officiants still. To be clear, we did NOT receive services from Reverend Neil, however we did communicate with him to do our wedding vows, and that is why I gave him all 1 stars.
