I sincerely thought about just not writing a review and leaving this experience out of my memory, but I want to warn others before going with this officiant.
1. She mispronounced ...my husband's first name AND our new last name. This was AFTER practicing it with us several times in between us hiring her and the big day PLUS practicing with the Father of the Bride before the ceremony.
2. She was supposed to tell my husband when to turn around. We practiced this a few times the night before at the rehearsal. She didn't and we missed the opportunity for him to see me walk down the aisle (there was no first look).
3. She told the guests to stand up for the bride...but then never told them to sit back down. Our guests stood for the entirety of our ceremony.
4. She couldn't remember the order of the ceremony, had us re-do the ring ceremony after having us do it too soon, and failed to remember that neither of us wanted religion brought into the ceremony.
5. Didn't move out of the way for photos even after requesting it several times before the big day.
6. Brought a guest for the rehearsal and wedding. Ended up not being that big of a deal because we had some no-shows, but still pretty rude in my opinion.
7. Failed to provide us with a copy of the ceremony script after us asking for it several times because we wanted to practice to make sure things went well and we didn't mispronounce or forget words.
The reason our ceremony was so important to us was because we had already gotten married the year prior in a large group courthouse ceremony. We wanted an intimate moment that was photographed and videographed so we could look back on these memories for years to come. Now, I can't help but think of what a laughingstock the most important moment of our wedding was. Several of our guests came up to us throughout the night and were concerned about April's performance. I'm glad she had a great night (as she said in her message she sent to us while we were still in the middle of our reception), but this was the biggest and only mistake we made during our wedding planning.
