We contracted with Weddings by Allie for a “day of” coordinator for our daughter’s wedding at the Houmas House October 2025. Allie explained at the beginning that she wasn’t availa...ble herself, but that we would have another experienced coordinator who would attend our 2nd & 3rd planning meeting. The assigned coordinator did attend the final meeting only, but was not present at the menu tasting at Houmas House. At the final meeting we were told there would be an additional coordinator with us that day. The primary coordinator, Chris, did reconfirm with the vendors during wedding week, and apparently did create detailed itineraries for the members of the wedding party, which were distributed at the rehearsal. Allie did provide us with a cake stand and a tablecloth for the cake table as well, which was appreciated. On the wedding day, it was raining most of the day. Our coordinator, Chris, arrived about 1:00. She did steam my daughter’s dress and I believe was instrumental in getting items set out for the reception. At 3:00, the second coordinator mentioned to me Chris had just left for the day. Yes, had left. No word to me whatsoever on why she departed. The second coordinator said something about a recent knee surgery. The second coordinator had been to no planning meetings, nor had she been to the actual rehearsal—but she was now our only coordinator present. She was trying to get up to speed for the ceremony and reception basically in real time. She did a great job pinch-hitting with no prior info from planning meetings. We ended up having a beautiful wedding with only a few hiccups. The next day, however, Allie told me that Chris had stated I was informed at the rehearsal she would be leaving early and Renee would take over till the end of the day. This was absolutely untrue! The first time I learned my “day of” coordinator had left 2.5 hrs prior to the ceremony was at that exact moment. She had never mentioned she would be leaving before the wedding even began. If I had been made aware, then my husband or I could’ve offered any needed assistance to the planner left holding the bag. I will also mention that the coordinator representing Houmas House, Jessica Marchand, was an absolute lifesaver. She was a vital backup to Renee. All in all we had a beautiful wedding, but I will never find it acceptable for a wedding planner to depart on wedding day with no prior discussion with the bride or mother of bride.
