Our wedding day in Birmingham would not have been the same without Andrea. I am quite confident that no other photographer could have captured our day in as real or as perfect of a way as she did. She is so calm and easy to work with, and she takes a special interest in getting to know her bride and groom before the wedding day, which brings a personal element to the photos that would not be there otherwise. She is also incredibly detail-oriented in her photography, which allows the unique atmosphere of the day to come alive with each shot. The photos Andrea took are something we will be proud of and happy to display for many years to come.

We loved working with Andrea! She was calm, extremely organized, efficient, and took amazing photos! Neither my husband nor I particularly like having our picture taken, and she completely put us at ease. She caught every moment without being intrusive at all. I showed my dad the pictures of the ceremony, and he was completely surprised at what she captured. He had no idea she was there, which is perfect. We love her photojournalist style. We have formal pictures that include the whole family with all the amazing moments of the day in candids. We would gladly recommend her to anyone getting married!

Working with Andrea was a dream. Having no experience planning a wedding, Andrea was there to help and guide our photography decisions all along the way. Although we were working within a budget, she was flexible and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. The day of the wedding, she was a pleasure to work with and my entire family and wedding party quickly became her number one fan. We received our pictures not long after the wedding and were amazed at how beautifully she captured the love that was shared on our wedding day. Beyond a wedding photographer, Andrea is an artist and a journalist and, a real sweetheart.

I found Andrea through a simple Google search and boy were we lucky bc she was absolutely perfect. We do not live in Nola so we did all of the communication via email and phone. The whole process was so easy from setting up the schedule to day-of festivities. We had a tiny ceremony and so we didn't need her for more than a couple hours, but she worked with us to come up with the perfect itinerary. It was all completely stress-free. But most importantly- the pictures are amazing!!! They truly capture the joy of the day and every time I look at them- I am just in awe! Hire her! She is the best!

Andrea's photos are just incredible (check her blog if you haven't yet). She was easy to reach and enjoyable to work with. Her photo books are amazing. I didn't have a strict timeline, and things like cake cutting and dances came up pretty suddenly without warning. Andrea always managed to capture every special moment. All of my friends have commented on how incredible our wedding photos are. I highly recommend her!

Andrea was everything we were looking for. She is professional, talented, kind, fun to be around (which is important, since you'll be with your wedding photographer for more time than anyone else on the day!), and great at what she does. Where some photographers are good at capturing formals but not candids, Andrea does an incredible job at both. The photos that she took captured our wedding perfectly. We have some candids that we are going to treasure for years, as well as some formals that perfectly captured our friends and families' spirits. It was well worth the investment and we are so happy with her. I cannot recommend her more.

I had seen Andrea's amazing photos before I had even gotten engaged and knew that, if I ever were to get married, I'd want her to shoot my wedding! Andrea's photos speak for themselves: they are beautiful! They have a unique and interesting look to them that I don't often see in wedding albums. My fiancé and I asked her to make us look thin, young, and fun--and Andrea definitely delivered! She really captures the essence of people in her photos; even inanimate objects (like my bouquet) seem vibrant and alive. Also, my wife and I are a bit older, and our parents are in their retirement years. We were so glad that we trusted Andrea to take those photos. We now have beautiful images to remember our wedding day, and our family and friends! Oh, and speaking of family and friends, the day after the wedding, they were still talking about how wonderful Andrea was and what a "great personality" she has! Weddings can be stressful, and it's good to have a photographer who is charming, calm, and organized. Needless to say, we were very happy with our experience and with the gorgeous photos!

Andrea is simply the best. I loved having her at my wedding--she was a joy to work with and it felt like I gained a friend. I was a little nervous about the whole rigid, structured wedding stuff and told Andrea that I preferred to have mostly candid shots instead of portraits. None of the portraits that she did take wound up looking corny at all and the candid shots are beautiful. She did a GREAT job and captured everyone at their best. As well, I have to say something about the way the final photos were presented. It was very convenient (I got photos on a thumb drive and already online), but it was also beautifully presented. She sent a beautiful box filled with a beautiful thumb drive (who knew?) and a selection of beautifully printed shots that distilled the day perfectly. I recommend her without reservation, she is extraordinarily talented.

Andrea is one of a kind. I am a fairly non-traditional individual, so we were looking for someone that could capture a story in her photos versus just a bunch of smiles. Andrea did just that. She created art at every turn and captured the nature of our event. People are still raving over the images. In addition to her amazing eye, Andrea is one of the most genuine, authentic individuals I came across in the "wedding world." She is easy to work with, and to be honest we left it all up to her, knowing that whatever and however she shot the day would be perfect. We were not disappointed and we will be booking her for every other event we have moving forward.

Andrea was AMAZING! My husband and I searched high and low to find a photographer with a little edge in their photographs, and Andrea fit the bill! On the day of the wedding Andrea was a dream- especially when it came to capturing my entire 100 member family in a giant group photo! A total pro! The final photographs were beautiful, with rich colors and tons of candids! Andrea is the best!! She is very easy to work with and did a great job at our wedding!! We decided not to take first look photos two days before the wedding and she immediately adjusted the timeline for us. Andrea did a phenomenal job for our wedding. She is easy to work with and her work is AMAZING!!! Hands down the first thing people tell me about my wedding is that my photographer did an amazing job of capturing our celebration. Every bride needs Andrea a part of their big day!!

Andrea was incredible. She swooped into WA state from across the country and immediately set to work for the big day. She is tiny and soft spoken, but when she's in business mode she can corral crowds of excited emotional friends and family and get them into place better than our day-of coordinator. For candids we didn't even notice her, she was stealthy! And of course the finished product had her very distinct touch and eye for the finer features of elated partygoers, the natural lighting and the charms of the settings. We were so fortunate to get her.

It was so important to me to not just have posed shots, but have photos that captured the whole experience of the wedding. We could not be more thrilled with how our engagement pictures turned out! Andrea was so much fun to work with and was so dedicated to providing us with great shots! I had very few ideas of what I wanted other than that I wanted everything to look natural. She did not try to pose us or overly direct us but simply let us be comfortable with each other and captured us in a natural way. We chose to have our shoot at a waterfall and she was so supportive and creative in the way she approached our location. She even ended up knee-deep in the 50 degree water to get the perfect shot! Andrea met us on the morning of our wedding day when we were starting to get ready, and she captured our entire day -- getting ready, getting to Central Park, getting hitched, having dinner, and rounding the night out with celebratory drinks. She fit in so well with our small wedding party and really made the entire day incredibly special. She was able to capture moments we could have never described in words, all while traipsing around New York City! I can't say enough about how awesome Andrea is! We recently got married on October 3, 2015 in NOLA on a chartered St. Charles street car, and we couldn't have done it without Andrea's help. My husband and I live in California, so we planned our whole wedding on our own from a distance. We blindly started contacting vendors and Andrea was recommended to us by some other photographers we had reached out to. I'd say we were lucky the others were booked up because Andrea was exactly what we were looking for. Once we connected with her we were really intrigued by her fun, editorial style of wedding photography. She gave us many recommendations and helped guide us for our engagement photo session, and in planning and scheduling everything for our big day. She really went above and beyond for us, and she is incredibly sweet. My husband and I consider he a friend now, and I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a professional yet relaxed and fun photographer who is great at capturing staged and candid photos. I can't forget a shout out to Cyd, the second shooter for our big day. She was awesome as well!

Our wedding was under the oaks in City Park, New Orleans. I was unsure how the photos would turn out with it being an outdoor wedding, sometimes shady and sometimes not. I anxiously awaited the photos and I could not be happier! Andrea captured the moments beyond my expectations~ I cannot stop looking at the photos and reliving that wonderful day. I catch myself thinking, "I don't remember doing that" and I am thankful she captured the moment for me! Andrea was such a pleasure to work with. Even the daunting task of getting everyone together for family photos was handled with ease by Andrea. My family also commented on how pleasant and fun she was to work with. I told my friends and family (that in my opinion) the photographer is so vital to capturing memories and I hoped that I would choose the best one. Well I did... thanks Andrea for everything!

Being a landscape photographer, I was very impressed by Andrea's work: She knows how to leverage both natural and artificial lighting. The effect is that her pictures look natural but still leave a lasting impression. So I hired her to do my engagement photoshoot in NOLA. We live in Houston, and the shoot was supposed to be a surprise for my wife. Andrea not only helped me pick the location, she went above and beyond to find a local sax player that was to be playing our song while I propose to my wife. After the proposal, Andrea guided us to great spots in french quarters while taking our pictures. Sometimes the most awkward thing for couples to do during a shoot is to pose, and same was the case with us. I was expecting that Andrea would suggest poses, which she did but for most of the shoot she left it to us. Overall, I was very satisfied by her work and professionalism. She delivered more images than we signed on for in the contract and did so within the deadline.

The work and art that Andrea put into our wedding truly made all of the difference. I felt very overwhelmed when facing the prospect of finding a photographer. As everyone knows, there are so many things to plan in a wedding and I thought photos would just be one more headache. Thanks to Andrea our experience was quite the opposite. Instead of a hurtle to overcome, working with Andrea was a lovely experience, and weddings should be lovely experiences after all. The entire ceremony I stood beside my soon-to-be wife with two primary thoughts in my head. 1. this is so wonderful I can't believe we are getting married, and 2. wow Andrea is really snapping away, circling around, back and forth, like a nonintrusive hawk, restlessly hunting for the best shots. While everyone els was getting to sit back and enjoy the moment Andrea was working her heart out. Andrea made sure to get a great deal of family portraits that I know will be treasured and passed down for generations. As someone who loves history I really understand the value of documenting moments and Andrea made sure to perfectly capture our special day for all time. She was also the reason that we ended up deciding to get engagement photos. We were originally not going to do engagement photos, but Andrea was such a delight to work with that we just wanted to spend more time with her. It ended up being a beautiful afternoon in the garden with my future wife and the person who made the moment possible. To top it all off Andrea gave us a truly unspeakably superb price. This last part means more to my wife and me then I can express. With all of the expenses required to have a wedding, we were under more pressure then we had ever been before. Its not an exaggeration to say that the single greatest factor in getting us through this stress and putting us at ease was Andrea. People told us that our wedding day would come and go with the blink of an eye and they were right. After all of the worrying and planning it was a wonderful blur. we can look back at that blur with complete, crystal-clear, hd permanence forever thanks to Andrea. She will be sure to leave you and your partner seeing each other, not stress and worry. Seeing each other is what photos and weddings are all about after all.

Working with Andrea was one of the many highlights of our engagement and wedding. She was incredibly flexible about meeting our needs and kept in touch frequently throughout the preparations. During our engagement photo shoot, I witnessed the delight she takes in her work and the way she makes her subjects feel at ease. As for the wedding, she went far above and beyond what we'd asked of her. My only concern is that we now have so many wonderful photos that it will be extremely difficult to pick a few to print. We couldn't have asked for a more gifted, considerate, or fun artist to document our special moments.

As a professional photographer myself, I had a good idea what I wanted for my own wedding and spent a lot of time researching until I found Andrea. For our engagement session, which was included in the package we got, we wanted an older, urban location and Andrea knew exactly where to shoot this in New Orleans. She was professional and easy to work with before and during the wedding and interested in capturing images that represented the style and personality of our wedding. I'd say overall it was a great experience working with Andrea.

Andrea photographed my fall wedding in Birmingham, AL. My husband and I decided to get married on November 1st which fell on a Saturday between Halloween and Dia de los Muertos, two of our favorite holidays! Because of the holidays I wanted to have a gothic but whimsical style. I wanted elegant with a twist and Andrea seemed like the best fit for capturing what we wanted and I am elated with our decision to hire her! I did not have a bridal party so Andrea instead worked very closely with my husband and I before the wedding. She met all my demands happily. When it turned out we had a little time to kill before the reception and I had no more requests she made suggestions for poses and backdrop changes. Honestly, the recommendations from Andrea for candid poses in spots I hadn’t been able to think about are the best pictures from that session!!! I had been a bridesmaid in a much larger beach wedding Andrea photographed (that’s how I found her!) so I have also worked with her in that capacity. In both situations Andrea is calm and calming in the most heated moments! After watching her work with another bride as we all got ready at the beach and posed for formals and seeing the truly unique results I knew I wanted her for my wedding. Her eye for capturing small details artistically have made my pictures a storybook with amazing formals, candids, and detail shots. Literally her pictures have taken friends and family’s breath away!

The thing I love most about Andrea is her unique, journalistic perspective. Her photographs tell a story. Andrea is a true artist with her photography. She was very helpful with all of the arrangements, pricing and packages and she eager and enthusiastic to travel for my son's destination wedding in New York City. She captured every precious moment of this beautiful celebration of life and love.

I was looking for artsy - not staged - wedding photos. I also wanted someone to capture the beauty and essence of the day without interfering with the wedding, as I'd experienced at friends' weddings. Andrea delivered. Andrea recently photographed my wedding in August, and I could not be more satisfied with the pictures we recently received! She did an amazing job capturing every important moment, and I feel like I'm there reliving the day through her pictures. From getting-ready pictures to the ceremony to the reception, she did a phenomenal job! She arrived at our condo at 10:30am, rode around New Orleans with the bridal party to take pictures around the city after the ceremony, and arrived at our reception at the Loews early to take pictures of the venue and stayed throughout the entire reception capturing every detail! Everyone who has seen the pictures has had nothing but positive things to say about how beautiful all of the images are. Not only were the pictures beautiful, but Andrea was an absolute joy to work with. She was so kind and helpful throughout the entire day and into the night. I truly cannot recommend her enough!! I did a boudoir shoot with Andrea, and I absolutely love my photos and the whole experience of working with her. She's such an artist—I was able to just relax and let her do her thing. I could not be happier with the end result. Andrea helped me choose two locations (my home and a beautiful secluded wooded area) for the shoot. We communicated frequently leading up to the day—she gave me any advice I asked for and asked me questions about what I planned to wear, what I was going for, etc. Once she arrived, she made herself at home and helped me do the same. :) She was really encouraging the whole time, giving me just the right amount of direction and posing me in the perfect ways for my body. I also love how creatively she used the space around us. Andrea was very quick in giving me a gallery to choose from. She worked with me on a layout for a book, and showed me a final proof before sending it off to the printer. She touched up any problem areas I requested and did a beautiful job editing the photos overall. This was a really personal and momentous shoot for me, and I wouldn't have wanted it to go any differently than it did with Andrea. I have beautiful works of art as the finished product and I had an amazing time working with her on it.

Andrea Mabry has a very keen eye for the whimsical. Her photography captured the joyous atmosphere of my wedding comprehensively. Andrea was also an absolute joy to work with, and her turnaround time was very short. I would hire Andrea Mabry for another event in a heartbeat!
