Weddings by Lisa

My husband and I could not have chosen a better officiant for our elopement in August of 2022. We live in upstate NY however eloped in South Carolina at "Pretty Place" Chapel. As out-of-staters, it was important to us to have an officiant who met our needs, especially since our total guest count was less than 5... our officiant could quite make or break our whole day being as the ceremony was the "biggest" piece. After my initial phone call with Lisa, she was hired! Lisa was VERY attentive. She followed my lead and helped finalize our custom ceremony with her experience. Prices were comparable to the market, but you get an extra piece of confidence with Lisa's communication and the custom marriage certificate - truly makes you feel special. If you're looking for a wedding officiant, I highly suggest Lisa!!

Lisa was so great to us at our wedding! We did the officiant + planner package, and I’m SO glad that we did. She communicated with us perfectly leading up to the wedding, and the day of, my husband and I didn’t have to worry about anything because we knew Lisa had the timeline and vendors all sorted out. Whatever needed to be done, Lisa handled! She even let me borrow a compression sock during the ceremony because of ankle issues that I have made my heels hurt much more than they should have. She absolutely went above and beyond what I expected, and I am so grateful we hired her!

Lisa is AMAZING! She is punctual, communicative, funny, and definitely stays on top of everything that has to do with your big day! I so enjoyed having her as our coordinator, and I am SO glad we hired her, because she took an incredible amount of pressure off of us in these last 2 weeks. I would recommend anyone to consider Lisa to coordinate their wedding - it is SO worth it!!

Miss Lisa was an absolute Godsend for my wedding!! I was a mega DIY bride, but when my dad passed suddenly right before my big day I wasn’t in the right space to handle all my plans and Lisa took care of it all! She made sure I had EVERYTHING I needed. Lisa and her husband are the best and I recommend them 100% for your wedding or bow renewal!

Lisa made my wedding ceremony go by without a hitch! She and her husband made sure everything went smoothly for the ceremony. Not only did Lisa create a beautiful ceremony that had left my guests in awe, she was extremely helpful with everything, especially my nerves. Lisa prepares this folder for the Bride after the wedding that helps to ensure changing your last name isn't such a struggle. She takes care of sending a copy of the marriage certificate to the probate court so that the newly weds can enjoy their honeymoon without thinking about that stress. I highly recommend Lisa. There are so many options to choose from when it comes to ceremonies. Lisa is so sweet and knows what she is doing when it comes to weddings!

I don't know what I would have done without Lisa. She made everything run so smoothly and never let anything stressful cross my path. If I needed anything at all, Lisa would take care of it. Need to book a rehearsal dinner? Lisa said "No problem! They even said you can come decorate!" Have a question about the venue? She will call and ask it for you and any other questions you may have. I mean, this woman held us all together and it went perfectly!

Lisa was great with planning our small wedding. She was prompt, courteous, and very professional. Highly recommend!

Lisa was amazing to work this - she worked with me throughout the process and made sure the day was perfect. Her husband even helped with getting the wedding party to walk out at the right time! I would recommend her to any bride, be sure to also do the rehearsal (we did) as it helps the day run smoothly!

Lisa was absolutely horrible to my granddaughter. She gave horrible service and so did her "replacement". We paid for her and another officiant because the replacement didn't show up until my granddaughter was walking down the aisle!

Lisa is very unprofessional, unapologetic, uncaring, rude and downright WRONG. She, not ONCE, apologized for our ruined wedding ceremony; much less offered anything in return for VERY POOR service.

Oh boy! I hate to write this review because there are so many 5 star reviews. But, what happened, on my wedding day, was highly unacceptable. Lisa seemed amazing, at first. She agrees to do my whole wedding for $150. We didn't have a large budget, so this was great! I paid the initial deposit which turned out to be $115. She immediately started sending over ceremonies for us to look over. Then, I wanted to pay the rest of what I owed and it was another $115. So, $230 in total. It wasn't what we agreed on, but I didn't want to have a confrontation and have bad feelings before my wedding, so I paid it. Everything seemed to go good after that. The day before my wedding, Lisa emailed and informed me that she had the flu, but she had found someone to fill in for her. I wasn't given any contact info for this new lady, I was just told that she had all of the details of my wedding and would be there. I was seriously worried, but trusted Lisa. No other contact was made until 10 minutes before I was going to walk down the aisle. Yes, TEN MINUTES. And that contact was made by me, in a frantic attempt to let Lisa know that this replacement officiant had not shown up. (I also had ZERO signal to call anyone, so my fingers were crossed that a miracle would happen.) Luckily, my photographer brought her husband, and while I was running around panicking about no one being there to marry us, she informed me that her husband was registered to officiate, but he had never done a wedding. I quickly shelled out cash (that was supposed to go towards our honeymoon) and gave him my phone with the full ceremony on it. He was so nervous, but we had NO other options. He took his place to officiate and I started to walk down the aisle. My grandfather and I were walking slowly to "here comes the bride", and a female that I had never seen runs up, grabs the microphone and acts like nothing ever happened. She performed the while ceremony, but would not walk down to where my groom and I were standing. She stood in her own place that she assumed was okay (Because she wasn't there on time!) And she made us walk to her to recite our vows, in which she didn't even hold the microphone for us so that our guests could hear us. She also didn't know that she had to hold the microphone close to her mouth (again, because she was late) so over half of my ceremony wasn't even heard by my guests. I did voice all of these concerns with Lisa, over email. I also told her I was afraid that the replacement wouldn't file our marriage license if she caught wind that I was giving negative feedback. The only thing Lisa came back with was "She is great at what she does and she will file the license. I will call every day to make sure." She offered no remorse for my wedding day being RUINED. She offered no compensation for VERY POOR planning. She offered NO apologies for the behaviors and lateness of the replacement that SHE vouched for. I DO NOT recommend Lisa Baker as a wedding officiant. Unprofessional, unapologetic, uncaring and her "word" means nothing.

Highly recommended! Lisa was so in tune to our needs and was always just an email away. She was a tremendous help at our rehearsal and friendly and inviting to everyone. Thank you for marrying us!

I highly recommend Lisa Baker to all brides in the Upstate looking for an affordable, kind, and caring officiant who will create their perfect ceremony! Lisa was a pleasure to work with. My husband and I are not religious so we wanted a somewhat non-traditional ceremony. Lisa gave us a substantial amount of print outs of previous ceremonies she's done for other couples, and we were able to piece together everything we liked from those to create our perfect ceremony. She customized everything exactly how we wanted it. We did not have a wedding planner or director, so she stepped up and did a wonderful job during our rehearsal and the day of our wedding, organizing our families and wedding party, telling them where they needed to be and when. After the wedding, she gave me all the forms I needed to change my name in a convenient packet, which was very helpful. She responded very quickly to emails, which is my preferred method of communication, so that made planning extra easy. We loved working with Lisa. She was one of our easiest and best vendors to work with.

Lisa was professional and seemed to genuinely care about my needs and the overall outcome of the wedding. This was especially important because of last-minute drama - it was great to have a calm, collected head among all the chaos. I'll be recommending her for years to come. She even gave us a wedding gift!

Mrs. Lisa was a true lifesaver. After our official had dropped us two weeks before the wedding, the bride was stressing over who would marry us. With everything paid for, we were up a creek without a paddle. Mrs. Lisa was so sweet and so easy to talk to. Even though we only knew her for two weeks, she felt like a true friend as if we had known her for years. With a custom ceremony written for us, we knew our day would be magical, but it was more that we could even dream of. Thank you so so SOOOO much for the wonderful job. We can honestly say we couldn't have done it without you.

Lisa was the easiest of the wedding to book! So stress free and she provided everything we needed to know about getting our marriage license squared away. We were given several ceremony options or were able to write our own ceremony. My wedding was very small and informal, but Lisa was very warm and professional. She never missed a call and responded to all emails quickly. We were greeted with hugs and everything about her services were stress free!

Lisa was great to work with! She was always available to talk to whenever I had questions and always quick to respond, whether it was by email, by phone, or even in person. I had no idea how to even begin planning what our wedding ceremony would be like, but Lisa was there to provide feedback and examples whenever we needed them. She created a custom ceremony that captured who we were and made our wedding absolutely perfect! We would definitely recommend Lisa to anyone wanting to get married!

2 weeks before our wedding, my husband and I found out we had a few changes to make, one of which was who could marry us. Lisa was amazing! She gave us guidance but listened to what we wanted too. I love how she automatically knew that my daughter was going to be a huge part of the whole ceremony. She made our day perfect! The words, the direction, the support, were just what we needed. The few days after the wedding you and your husband talk about the ceremony, reception, if you think everybody had fun... One of the things we talked about was how great Lisa was (and my vows were better ;) we wrote our own). We definitely recommend her to all!!!

Lisa and her son went above and beyond. Her son helped with the music since my DJ flaked on me. Her service was everything I wanted and she was very personable with my family. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to get married. She also supplied the Social Security papers for changing my last name which was great so I can savre myself a trip. Thanks Lisa!!

We worked with Lisa to get the perfect ceremony for us. Both coming from Catholic families, and not going with a Catholic wedding, we weren't sure how to go about designing our ceremony. Lisa was amazing by giving us a lot of examples of ceremonies and allowed us to tailor our own. She was so easy going and made any changes we requested quick and professional. We were so happy to share our special day with Lisa, she definitely pulled everything together for us!
