But there was something about the photos on their website that we really fell in love with. So vibrant, so beautiful, and so full of life! So we reached out to them, not sure if they even did weddings for non-South Asian couples - let alone gay couples - but Deepesh and Sana could not have been kinder or more enthusiastic. “Yes! Of course! Let’s set up a time to talk by phone so you can tell us your story. We love a good love story! We also want to make sure we choose the right photographer from our staff. Someone who will be perfect for you guys. We want to understand who you guys are. We want to capture your story not just your pictures.” They were great every step of the way. And they did, indeed, choose a terrific photographer for us. His name was Mandar and he was amazing. Kind, thoughtful, creative, easy to work with and the perfect balance of presence and unobtrusiveness. that worked with us (Mandar, Ali, Robin, Jess, Sana) were so pleasant, fun (but also professional) and the end result of videos and photos captured all of the important moments, people, and our vibe. Firstly, in the hecticness of a typical Indian wedding weekend, the chance to get away and take photos/videos for 30 min before the start of each event was peaceful, intimate, and personally one of my favorite parts of my wedding. Secondly, Deepesh really takes care and consideration to go above and beyond. Since he knows most of the popular vendors well (like our DJ and planner), they are able to coordinate and achieve things without putting stress on the couple. One example was the DJ was providing a video wall at our reception, and literally the week of, me, the DJ and Deepesh got on a text group to figure out how we could wirelessly transmit the speeches, performances, etc so we could maximize use of the wall (Deepesh needed to buy an extra part to do this, and he ordered it right away). It just warmed my heart to see them really think of this as if it was their own event or that of a family member.

We had Deepesh as our photographer and Aejaz (Captain) as our videographer for our Indian wedding ceremony in NJ! They were wonderful to work with and are extremely talented. We had heavy rains on our wedding day but they still managed to click and shoot our first look and portraits and make use of the limited time and indoor space we had! I was particularly impressed that they captured all our important moments with perfection. The editing team (Renu for video editing and Microart for photo editing) did a fantastic job. The photos and videos are so dreamy and something we will cherish for life! A bonus: Given how hard they work and how wonderful their service and products are their prices are very reasonable in comparison!

st of a pandemic with all the stress of trying to stay safe, we had to change all of our wedding plans to Aug 2020 (still during uncertain times), I was so lucky that Deepesh/Wedding by Shooting Stars was very accommodating. Deepesh was very patient and wonderful in being available to discuss options and changes. We knew Wedding by Shooting Stars was for us because Deepesh and his team capture raw emotion and happiness in their photographs. Everyone is different, some people want posed photos and some want natural. Deepesh is great in giving couples their desired dream photos, as he discusses everything in detail with you well in advance. During out first conversation, he sounded so familiar like an old friend. He suggested a winter/snow photoshoot, we knew that was what we had to do it because my husband and I love being outdoors. He was amazing and hilarious during that photo session, getting down and rolling in the snow, to get the perfect shot. He worked with our personalities to get the perfect photos. He and his colleague got great natural photos that we will cherish. Every snowfall reminds us of that day. On our wedding day, it was crazy hectic as it was still amidst a pandemic, but Deepesh and his team was early and ready to go. They went with the flow and Deepesh is very patient and understanding. He captured every tear of happiness that was shed and every laugh that my husband and I shared. I always thought crying isn’t captured well in photos, but Deepesh has taken terrific organic photographs that I love those pictures a bit more and now know I am a beautiful cryer….lol.
