ared and talked about the type of ceremony we wanted, we agreed that the center theme of our wedding would be family. That was most important to us. Wenda was wonderful in our premarital sessions. She always listened openly and took so much care when getting to know us as a couple. I came from a divided home and my parents are now divorced and remarried. My husband's parents are high school sweethearts. We grew up in such different settings, but Wenda stressed the value of both of our upbringings. We spent a lot of time learning our place within our own families and traits of our parents that we wished to bring into our own marriage. I found this so helpful in understanding where my husband and I come from and why we do many things the way we do. It helped us understand and appreciate each other even more. I found the classes so valuable for our relationship. Wenda didn't just read from the standard script that you hear at every wedding. It felt personal, tailored, and familiar, and for our wedding this was exactly the intimate experience we had hoped for. The time and energy she poured into us translated beautifully during our ceremony. My favorite part was the Honoring of the Parents. We had personalized letters we wrote and read to each of our parents in front of our guests. It was so important to pause and thank them for getting us where we are today, holding space for them in our new lives, and moving forward in our new marriage while still honoring them. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. It was truly special. We were married 6 years ago and have had 3 children since. We are also so blessed that Wenda has baptized all of our children and has had a front seat to the most significant days of our lives. It is so cool reflecting on our marriage the past 6 years (although I knew we have a long way to go!) and seeing so much of what Wenda taught us present in our marriage and roles as new parents. We are so grateful for her leadership in our lives!

Wenda truly helped us customize a ceremony that reflected our relationship and the things that matter most to us. We wrote pieces to honor our families (based on conversations we had in pre-wedding sessions), incorporated special details, and wrote our own vows. Wenda shared our relationship story with our wedding guests and picked a special verse to share that reflected our wedding venue (surrounded by trees and apple orchards). There was a lot of laughter and some happy tears, and it's a day we will never forget.
