Well, it was absolutely NOT a wedding our way. Our officiant was Carolyn McDonald and as a person she was great with us and came across positive and personable and caring. I guess ...our red flag should’ve been when we met and she stuck us with her drink bill and just left. But anywho, at our rehearsal and through several emails in advance, we had gone over an itinerary I created that included everything. (I’m my fathers son so I’m long story short so bear with me here...) We paid $400 for the officiant, $200 for ceremony programs, $100 for the event coordinator to help with the ceremony in the background and an extra fee for our dj to help with music (as we weren’t provided with possible readings to take place that I came to find out LATER from the weddings your way owner, should’ve been offered) and all were going by the same itinerary my wife and I created. Well, except for the officiant who switched it up last second. When you get married, you normally say “I do” at some point right? Nope. She decided to not do our wedding vows or any wedding vows at all. Skipped our signing of the marriage license and jumped to the unity ceremony. Basically, it was an unorganized mess. No one knew the order and there were awkward spots of scrambling in the silence because the dj didnt even know what was next and had to jump around for the music I picked. On top of all this and the icing on the cake..... SHE NEVER ONCE SAID MY WIFES NAME RIGHT! She only said mine right twice. I wish I was joking but as much as I love a good laugh, it’s not. The only joke was our officiant and how the final outcome was handled. Even proving with emails to the company’s owners what was confirmed to be done, both the officiant and owner acknowledging mistakes were made, and me calling and emailing explaining the severity of this issue... an “I’m sorry, here’s a $200 refund” was the outcome from the owner. No apology from the officiant. So as I wrap this essay up, do your research on who you have announcing you on your big day. In the end I married a woman inspiringly stronger, smarter, and far more passionate than me. Hence why I’m writing this. She deserved better than this company on our wedding day. If you see this review elsewhere, it’s because I’m making it a point to spread the word and rewriting this everywhere would take forever. Cheers!
