organized and she made wedding planning so easy for us, even providing a list of vendors that had worked with the Yacht Club before so we could narrow down our search. The venue was absolutely gorgeous from the ceremony in the backyard to our sunset photos on the docks. The food by Scott Allen was incredibly delicious, so many of our friends and family couldn’t stop raving about it. We could not have asked for a better day and we can't recommend the West Dennis Yacht Club more!

iate to help others where I can. I emailed this venue to set up a tour. They suggested a time and date and I confirmed that worked, and put it in my calendar. My parents, my fiance, and I showed up during the scheduled time, and the woman is nowhere to be found - luckily there was a kind man painting outside who called her for me, and she had quite literally no idea who I was, and said she had already left. The man showed us around briefly and after we left I waited an hour or two for an email from the woman (expecting that she would have gone through her emails to see what she missed), and I received nothing. I emailed her then, and asked if we could set up a time to talk on the phone about details because we loved the venue, and she emailed back emphatically apologizing, saying she should have been there and that we could of course set up a time to talk. I said great, not a problem at all. I then asked if she was available that weekend to talk, or if she had any availability that coming week, and never heard from her ever again (I checked spam, trash, all folders). At that point, I decided to not reach out again, as the professionalism was incredibly low, and I did not want to stress myself further. I, of course, hope that she is okay, but even if there was an emergency, it was concerning that then there was no backup plan for someone to take over her duties (it made me fearful of what would happen on the actual wedding day if an emergency popped up). Again, I do not write this to bash the venue, but I write it to inform couples, particularly those who might be traveling to look at this venue. Luckily, I am from the Cape and so did not travel more than 15 minutes to visit, but if I had travelled an hour+, I would have been incredibly upset.

for our wedding of approximately 160 guests. The space is beautiful and the large deck and lawn are great for the cocktail hour and ceremony. The venue is primarily an operating yacht club but the space is transformed for the limited weddings it hosts each year. Sonya (the venue coordinator) is included with the space - she is very relaxed throughout the whole process and will help you to turn the space into your dream wedding.
When I walked into the space the night of our wedding I was speechless - Sonya did an outstanding job putting everything exactly the way we had discussed (and even better than I had imagined). The night of the wedding Sonya was always there if I needed something - including handing me bride/groom tissues before we headed out to the ceremony. And you can't beat Scott Allen's catering - the food was even better than we remembered when we tasted it during the trial and guests are still raving about it. The staff the whole evening was so attentive and friendly and I couldn't have imagined a more perfect venue team to work with. You should absolutely consider this amazing venue for your wedding if you want your guests to experience and love Cape Cod - it couldn't have been more perfect.

There are truly not enough words to say how great Sonya is and how great it was to work with her at WDYC. Throughout the entire wedding planning process she was so accommodating to us and went above and beyond to answer any questions and bring our dream wedding vision to life. She was an extremely calming presence, which was much appreciated during the planning craziness! I felt so calm throughout my entire planning process because she was so relaxed and just was able to answer every question I had with ease. She clearly knows what she's doing and you can sense that from the moment you meet her. The food was great and we had wonderful feedback about everything including the beautiful bar! I gave all of my decorations to Sonya with full trust that she would set everything up just the way I wanted it. When I walked in on my wedding day, I was so impressed and it just took my breath away. I highly reccomend having your wedding here. It was such a fun venue with such a beatiful location. When I first walked into West Dennis Yacht Club, I knew it was the perfect location for our reception. We were looking for a location that was right on the water and would give our guests a true Cape Cod experience, and you can’t beat WDYC. Sonya is amazing to work with and she helped our wedding reception go off without any issues. We planned our wedding from 1800 miles away, so working with vendors who were flexible with our schedule and comfortable planning from a distance was crucial. Sonya responded to all of our emails promptly and we had multiple meetings with her when we were home. Sonya helped bring every vision I had to life and have the reception I had always dreamed about. The night of our wedding, every time I turned around, Sonya and her staff were there making sure that we had everything that we needed. I could go on and on about our experience with Sonya as she was just so incredible to work with.
Scott Allen’s catering is delicious! I have a food allergy and Scott created a menu that I didn’t have to think about it because I could eat everything that was served. We had a raw bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, and our dinner options were delicious. Our guests raved about our food!

good. However, after the event while reflecting with family, we realized a few things that we are very upset about. In all of the excitement of the event, it didn't click that they switched around the table numbers from the floor plan that they had sent to us when designing a seating chart. We specifically seated our closest family near the beautiful views and our sweetheart table so they could see everything best. One of the most important tables which included my grandparents and closest aunts and uncles was placed furthest away from the view and SH table (right by the front entrance). My poor grandmother did not even go outside on the deck because it was too far of a walk to go back and forth from the table they placed them at. In addition, my mother rented nice plates to use for dessert (you need to rent the dinnerware for this venue) and they used plastic plates instead. Despite this, I would highly recommend the venue. If it wasn't for that, I would have given it five stars. I mainly wanted to put these concerns out there so that future couples who choose this venue can make sure to specifically say something so that you do not run into the same issues.

nless you have kids or you are a senior citizen...you can't even bring your boat there for an afternoon.
When we first went to book we were giving a packet with pricing for each menu...which was very misleading. It had 5 entrees on it but we were told later after we already put the deposit down that we only got to choose two. It had cake cutting service on there but we were told later that was a typo and it was extra. They tried to raise the price per head $2 two weeks before our wedding, and they automatically charged 20% service charge on a buffet (and 7% tax)
The woman in charge was very nice and artistic, but she wouldn't let us give a lower head count (people always have something come up last minute and don't make it) than we had seats for people, just in case. I had about 155 people show up and she made us pay for 160 heads because that's how many seats I wanted on the off chance everyone who rsvp'd showed up.
Last minute we decided to pay the tab for our WP and parents and the invoice was not only questionable by the number of drinks on it, there was a 20% service charge on that (which was never discussed with us), and of course our WP tipped over that.
We did have a great day, and for the most part it ran smoothly, I just felt like they were always trying to take advantage...even down to a simple mistake she made on the second invoice that charged us tax on the wrong amount. If you choose this place, it's beautiful, just pay attention to every detail and double check everything they say.
