West Town Bakery

Love West Town Bakery! One of my favorite Chicago bakeries long before I was engaged or a became a bride; all of which was solidified following our wedding. I cried when I saw our cake at our reception - it was perfect! Guests devoured our wedding cake and raved about the taste - our entire cake went! A special thank you to Colette!

We loved working with this bakery for our cake and dessert table. We wanted to have a unique dessert table and West Town had tons of tasty dessert options for us to chose from. My husband is gluten-free so we got a simple cake for us to cut and had an assortment of small desserts (cake balls, chocolate pot de creme, mini cheesecakes) for our guests. Everyone loved the desserts and our cake was moist but not crumbly which is really hard to achieve with non-gluten flours.

My only regret about our wedding cake was not eating more of it. We tried cakes at three different bakeries, and West Town Bakery was by far the best. The cake was moist and delicious, reasonably priced, they were easy to work with, and it came out beautifully. What more could you want? (Besides more cake, obviously).

So cake was important to me as I have a sweet tooth and I couldn't have been happier with our cake. The flavors were amazing and the cake was baked to perfection -- everyone enjoyed it and had second helpings. Colette was great making sure we'd have enough and helping us through the tasting process and deciding what flavors and fillings and frostings worked best together. If you need inspiration, red velvet with the chocolate mousse and raspberry jam fillings or vanilla cake with lemon curd and blueberry preserves make excellent combinations!

Our wedding cake was not only beautiful, but absolutely delicious. Collete made our tasting fun and enjoyable and the sweets table that we also got from West Town was unbelievable. Our guests were asking for to go boxed for the very few left over pieces of cake and desserts! GREAT JOB!

We had a vegan wedding cake and cupcakes from West Town and were so pleased! The cake looked beautiful and just how we envisioned it. Most importantly, the cakes were delicious and greatly enjoyed by our guests. Not going to lie, the top tier didnt make it one week after the wedding! Looks like we will have to get another one to celebrate our anniversary next year!

We worked with Colette for our gluten-free wedding cake and cake ball desserts. The cake looked exactly as we had hoped it would and tasted amazing! I didn't have a chance to try the cake balls, but we heard from multiple guests at our wedding that they were amazing and I did notice every single one of them was gone! (400 cake balls!) Colette has been super easy to work with, responsive and set up a really nice cake tasting for us as well. We'd highly recommend! <3

Everything from start to finish was amazing with West Town Bakery. The tasting was amazing (and so easy) and we picked red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. If you go in for a tasting, you have to try the cake balls and take some home with you. We had a three layer cake with just one layer being real for us to take home. I added a surprise WWE themed groom's cake last minute and Samantha knocked it out of the park!

I loved my wedding cake from West Town Bakery! Samantha was great to work with and super flexible. I showed her pictures of cakes I liked and she created exactly what I was looking for! The cake tasted great too!

We got a vegan wedding cake from West Town Bakery - it was delicious!! I'm always a bit nervous about bakeries because I have anaphylactic reactions to dairy, and any cross contamination will trigger an allergic reaction, but we had no issues - thank goodness. Our cake tasting was fun - we tried out all of the different flavor options and decided to go with lemon cake, blueberry filling and vanilla frosting. The design was great - I gave them a few pictures of the design we wanted and they were able to replicate with ease. Great experience!

I used West Town Bakery for my wedding cake and cupcakes for my January 2016 wedding. We selected this bakery as my husband has a dairy allergy. We wanted a wedding cake that was completely dairy-free and West Town was more than willing to help us out. They had a variety of dairy free cakes and frosting for us to try out at our tasting. We settled on the chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. It was delicious at the tasting and again at the wedding. We had another slice (or two) a few days later and it still tasted great. They were able to do a wonderful ivory lace design on the cake and it turned out exactly how I wanted. We did a two-tier cake with an 8 inch base and a 6 inch layer on top. Perfect medium sized cake. They say it will serve 34 people but I could see it serving closer to 50 people. We also did an assortment of mini cupcakes. We went with some dairy free and some with dairy. They have chocolate, vanilla, lemon, carrot cake and red velvet cupcakes with your choices of various frosting (including their cream cheese frosting with is amazing). We did 250 cupcakes for a 180 person wedding. They were so popular that I wish we had done more. I would definitely recommend at least doubling your order for the amount of guests you have as it seemed most people wanted to take a least 2 from the dessert table. The only frustration with the process is that there was a little turnover in the cake sales during our wedding planning process. This made it a little difficult to receive responses when needed. I had to reach out and remind them several times to send over my cake design. It all got done in time and hopefully with some new people in these roles, things will go a little more smoothly. All in all, I definitely recommend this bakery for your wedding, especially if you have food allergies to take into consideration.

We decided against a cake, and created our own flavors and colors of cupcakes. This bakery is amazing and will work with your ideas, highly recommend!
