When my daughter got engaged in Austin Texas we were ecstatic and could not wait for the big day. I lived out of town in New Jersey and wanting to give her the best most beautiful wedding day, I couldn’t imagine how I would “pull it off”. I flew out to Texas and my daughter and I began our venue crawl. Fast forward to our selection of The Grand Lady I immediately realized that I would need a wedding planner. My prayers were answered when we met Nicolet LaVeau with Westcott Weddings. Nicolet was so knowledgeable with every aspect of the wedding process and understood that I would be working with her long distance. She suggested all the right people, photographers, music, caterers and everything else you could imagine that a great wedding day should have. The day of the wedding she was there until the end making sure everything was perfect. If you want a beautiful and memorable wedding day you must ask Nicolet to be there for you. She was amazing!

BRILLIANT. Absolutely brilliant, so grateful to have had Nicolet and the Westcott team as our wedding coordinators. We asked a lot of her as an out-of-state couple (especially during her high season in late summer/fall) - and when I tell you everything went flawlessly, to have been planned via email and video chat! Looking back at photos and reliving wedding weekend - I still have no concept of all the moving parts she had a hand in organizing for our room flips. Saturday's ceremony venue and Friday's rehearsal dinner venue both required teardown/setup/furniture rearranging in 45 minutes (!!!) to bring the reception and welcome party to life. We loved her local vendor recommendations and she was such a calm presence during the flurry of packing/traveling/planning for Day 1 of marriage. Absolutely yes - highly recommend! I keep telling my husband I wish we could celebrate our anniversary with the same exact wedding!

From our first call with Nicolet, my mom and I were put at ease. Nicolet is the perfect balance of a calming presence and a detail oriented, project management powerhouse. She understood my vision and kept me on task, kept the design honed in and focused - she knew what I wanted more than I did! Our wedding at Hotel Van Zandt in April was absolutely perfect because we had the perfect wedding coordinator. Nicolet was everything we wanted and more importantly, needed. She was super organized, patient, calm, available and responded to every thought/vision/need we expressed. She had access to all the best vendors and she clearly has a stellar reputation with all of them. I was so calm the day of the wedding (which goes against type) because I knew everything was handled. Her above and beyond moment was when we gave her a credit card and in the midst of reception, she ordered 40 tacos to be delivered to our suite for all our “late night” guests to enjoy when the DJ wrapped at midnight. So many people told us it was one their favorite weddings and felt so “us.” That is all because of Nicolet putting the dreams into reality. You will be so lucky if she is available to make your wedding day come to life.

A wedding is the culmination of so many small details and Nicolet was incredible in guiding us through it all. I rarely write reviews but I have to share what a great experience we had working with Nicolet LaVeau and Westcott Weddings for our daughter's 6/10/23 wedding. Nicolet was at all times helpful, creative, prompt, knowledgeable, resourceful, and professional. She has a calm, competent demeanor and “can do” attitude that serves her and her clients well. She is truly one of the hardest working individuals I’ve had the pleasure to work with. I myself was very hands on with this wedding and I think my expectations were fairly high. Nicolet met and exceeded them. I just can’t say enough about what a great resource and team member she was. She really is a Wedding Wizard! As an out of town MOB it was important to me to have an Austin based planning partner. You will be in good hands with Westcott Weddings and I appreciate too that their prices are reasonable. I know from doing my research you can pay more, but in my opinion you can't get better!

I thought I could handle it all on my own with my husband's help. I was very wrong. I was so reluctant to hire a wedding planner, that I did a consultation phone call with a whole bunch of approved vendors searching for a reason to forgo one. Then we had a call with Nicolet. I really liked her calmness and enthusiasm and her sense of humor. She was the rock we needed for our wedding. When she asked for a pinterest board of designs and colors I was interested in, I sent over 3 completely different boards. Somehow, she managed to use elements from each one to come up with something cohesive while highlighting my Asian and French cultures. Her contacts, organization, gentle reminders, everything she did to keep us on track helped minimize my wedding anxiety. She fully encouraged us to hire alpacas (2nd best decision, 1st being Nicolet!), worked with different vendors to execute our vision to a T while staying within our budget, and maintained her good humor throughout it all. I wish I could hire her for every small and big event. Can't say enough about her. She's amazing and won't let you down.

As someone that works in the local Austin wedding industry, I can tell you I have worked with plenty of planners. Most are good, but few are as exceptional as Nicolet. I had the opportunity to work with her as a vendor prior to my own wedding and was immediately impressed by her attention to detail and communication skills. I got married in January 2023, and we chose Westcott Weddings to assist us in the day-of coordination and extra design. We had a wonderful experience. I (the bride) was a little out of my depth when we first started, and Nicolet was an excellent partner in connecting us to vendors, helping us make our random ideas into an actual plan/vibe. I cannot imagine planning my daughter’s wedding without the help of Ellen Westcott of Westcott Weddings. Having worked with Ellen for the past 11 months, I can honestly say, she was such a joy and pleasure to work with, extremely professional in every way! Not only did she listen and understand my daughter’s vision for the wedding, but she helped execute it flawlessly. Wowie wow wow - I worked with Nicolet of Westcott Weddings, and let me tell you guys what a privilege it was! As you can see, she has plenty of glowing reviews below, but none of us can do her skill justice. She's the wedding planner of all wedding planners. A superwoman. The gal you want next to you always. Who you hope will be planning weddings in 30 years so she can plan your daughter's! My now husband and I got engaged February 2020 right before COVID hit. We scheduled a Tulum wedding for Noc 2021 but moved it due to the delta variant. When we made the difficult decision to move it, we decided on moving it to Austin. So I knew I needed a wedding planner to help me out. Both of us are physicians and are always strapped on time so needed someone who was unequivocally on the ball. I talked to several wedding planners, but when I talked to Nicolet, I knew she was the one. Nicolet has the uncanny ability to be who you need to be, sometimes your best friend handing out the hard truth, sometimes supportive mom energy, or handing out sage financial advice. She can truly do it all. As for her skill? We had the privilege of working with her for our Friday Sangeet and Saturday Ceremony + Reception. She executed all of it flawlessly. If there were hiccups, I definitely did not notice. She cares about your vision and wants to make everything you want happen and come to life. She's diligent, beyond hard-working, and so timely with her communication. Never once was a late email or a forgotten communication. Nicolet surpassed any expectations we could even dream of. Where do I even begin?? I was in total scramble mode because we had to cancel our original destination wedding due to Covid but had already been engaged for 2 years and did not want to wait any longer! Ellen took the vision we had and created it at our pricepoint - I kept saying, " I can't believe we're getting to do everything we've dreamed of!", and the Westcott team is THE REASON we could. Also, so great to work with, I looked forward to every planning session because of Ellen. The stress was removed from the planning process, this allowed us and our parents to truly enjoy our wedding day and relax. The pricing is more than fair for the incredible work they do and backs out at the end of the day. Using Ellen's recommendations and vendor relationships, which I would not have known or had access to, we accomplished every personal touch and wedding goal. Nicolet is THE BEST!! I could not have dreamed up a better wedding coordinator! She was organized and detail oriented from start to finish and I always felt like I was in good hands. She knew exactly which vendors to start hiring when and always had great suggestions and feedback on my thoughts. She is not only experienced in planning timelines and wedding schedules, but has the best eye for design and what should fill a ceremony and reception space. I already had ideas, but she turned those into reality so perfectly and with such ease! Everything turned out even better than I imagined! I never felt like we were up against a deadline, even though we only planned for about 9 months from start to finish. Nicolet was the key to a beautiful wedding day for my daughter! I worked closely with her because my daughter was an out of state bride. Nicolet was very helpful with keeping me on track, she is very detail oriented and held me accountable to meet vendor deadlines. Nicolet was also very patient with my mediocre computer skills! She was firm when she needed to be, like when she told me I couldn’t have fifty percent of the seating reserved for “family” or that we needed to add more hours for the photographer, which turned out to be the perfect call. Nicolet was familiar with all of the contracts and vendors and participated in calls with the band to make sure the wedding day timeline and ceremony music was effectively communicated. Nicolet navigated a seamless transition to communicating with the on-site wedding planner as we got closer to the date. The two of them seemed impervious to the stress of executing a wedding. She also conveyed the timeline to all of the vendors and I had minimal contact with the vendors as the wedding day approached. Nicolet tackled the tough assignments like assigning hair and makeup times for the wedding party and diagraming the table arrangements and ceremony seating. On the day of the wedding Nicolet and her helper stayed calm and handled everything that came their way, including a broken zipper on a bridesmaid’s dress! She communicated with my daughter and was able to convince her multiple times to take her glitter tennis shoes off and put her heels back on for pictures, that was very impressive! My daughter’s wedding was planned during the pandemic and Nicolet would convey what she was seeing at other weddings, that helped keep me calm and gave me the confidence to move forward with my daughter’s wedding. Overall, I think you will enjoy working with Nicolet, her calm demeanor, work ethic and attention to detail will make the planning enjoyable and the wedding day special. Put your trust in her and you will not be disappointed!

Wedding planning can be overwhelming, but Nicolet helped turn what seemed like an impossible task into a fun experience! She did a fantastic job of keeping everything organized, on track, and on time. I think my favorite thing about Nicolet is how detail-oriented she is. When we spoke via email/phone or met in person, she was very present and attentive -- whether it was a comment I made or a passing thought that I voiced, Nicolet listened and/or wrote it down. She first helped us plan an elaborate 200-person wedding by connecting us with vendors who matched our vision and seamlessly managing, contracts, design, and timelines. Then, when we realized the pandemic was here to stay, and she helped us pivot to a tiny family-only ceremony + zoom wedding from our backyard. Nicolet was there to usher us through no small amount of disappointment, uncertainty, and anxiety— and at the other end of all of it, the wedding ended up even better than we could have imagined. Amazing! I couldn't imagine planning a wedding without Ellen. She knows all the vendors and venues in Austin and she made the planning process seem so easy and fun. She has an amazing eye for design and planning. She did a great job of asking us what we wanted and running with it; and it was absolutely PERFECT. We had to re-schedule our wedding twice due to unforeseen events. She contacted every vendor and went through every contract and moved everything around to our new date. Ellen helped us plan our large wedding which was ultimately canceled because of Covid as well as our elopement with 2 weeks notice. She was very calm throughout the whole process, which helped us stay calm. Honestly that is probably the best trait you can look for in a wedding planner. Just like any Newley engaged couple, my partner and I didn’t know where to start with picking a wedding planner. Our friend Jesse, who works in the wedding catering industry, recommended Ellen to us. He stated that Ellen’s weddings are always so elegant and down to the detail of care. With that, we jumped on a call with Ellen and went over some baseline wedding items. Since we lived in DC, we wanted someone we could trust to help coordinate and manage the in’s and outs for our wedding that we were planning in Austin. — we quickly realized that Ellen would be that person once we met in person and she gave us great feedback/advice on all of our vendors, colors, flowers and story board. She connected us with an AMAZING florist and a band that we never heard but MADE OUR DAY MAGICAL. She handled a great checklist/reminders as we were hitting milestones before the big day. That’s not even the best part, on our actual wedding day Ellen managed to stay on her feet for over 12 hours helping with the set up, coordinations, detailing and juggling everything in between while EIGHT MONTHS PREGNANT!!! All of our friends and family tip their hats off to our wedding planner and we still hear about it till this day.

We met for the first time about 6 months away from my wedding and I immediately felt at ease and knew that everything I wanted for my big day was going to come true. She is not only an amazing wedding coordinator, but the most beautiful soul on the inside. She is purposeful, strong, encouraging, and JOYFUL. I could tell throughout my whole planning process that she absolutely loves her job. I couldn’t imagine my wedding day without her. Every time we made eye contact at the wedding she had glow on her face that said “I’m so happy for you!!!” She was quick to answer all my questions and I trusted her with my life!! I cannot think of one negative thing about Ellen and I would recommend her to everyone! Looking back on my wedding planning, I really wasn’t “stressed” and I felt like everything was under control and everything was truly going to be what me and my (now) husband wanted. Ellen is the best wedding planner EVER!!!! She helped me design my dream wedding from the start of it all even though I was at the time 8 hours away from Austin at the time and in college. She helped me have a modern, classic, yet simple wedding vibe and it all came together beautifully!! She set up all of my appointments and was really respectful to my budget giving me different options for photographers, floral, etc. All in all, Ellen took the aspects that mattered the most to me about the wedding and that carried throughout the whole wedding process. She made wedding planning feel not stressful which is so important on your big day. She is so comfortable to work with and wants to achieve what you want in a wedding:) I was always able to reach Ellen whether it was over email, text, or call and she was always able to respond to me within a day.

Working with Ellen is simply the best decision we made while planning our wedding in Austin. From our first meeting in fall to our last goodbye this summer, Ellen was incredible. Her skills matched up perfectly to our needs (professional, knowledgeable, smart; warm-hearted, caring, kind). She is an excellent listener and trusted partner. We could not have done it without her. As for specifics, before choosing Ellen, we interviewed about a half-dozen wedding planners in Austin. We asked them how they became wedding planners, and what about working with couples every season keeps them going. Ellen impressed us with both her experience (she’s been doing this for far longer than you might imagine) and her genuine interest (she cares). We were also impressed with her focus and her ability to balance her commitments. We always felt she had time for us, even when we ran long or had way too many questions. During wedding preparations, Ellen proved to be the best partner you could have. We relied on her a great deal for the overall design and layout, all the way down to the napkins. She also brought us tremendous options for florals, photography, strings, day-of paper and all the rest; she has a great sense for the combination of price and quality. As we started to assemble vendors, she was great in steering us away from trouble and in the right direction. She also kept us on schedule. She was amazing. Finally, on the wedding weekend, Ellen went above-and-beyond. From setup to cleanup, she was there making sure things looked tremendous, and every last detail was in place. When the weather was not cooperating, she decided on how to move forward with the rain plan. She was able to make everything move seamlessly. There is a talent to being a great coordinator and conductor. Ellen has that talent in spades. Anyway, if you aren't convinced by now, I don’t know what to tell you. We would recommend Ellen 1,000 times out of a 1,000. There’s a lot of folks out there that do wedding planning. There are very few that have the strengths to do so many parts of it so well. And of course, there is only one Ellen. We already miss her and of course, recommend her to you.

We weren't sure what level of service we wanted in planning, only that we needed some guidance, but my mom knew about 10 minutes into our conversation with Ellen Westcott that we wanted full service and we wanted it with her. From the beginning, Ellen heard and understood our wishes for the day, and while she made thoughtful suggestions and offered advice grounded in experience, she also supported the (large) number of wedding bits and traditions we wanted to nix. My husband and I are both designers (an architect – the worst kind), which I imagine sets off a siren headed into the process, but Ellen listened and absolutely nailed it with her design board (seriously, some exact images we had admired but not shared were on the board.) Guys, let’s be real. That’s nuts. We explained to Ellen that we envisioned an event that was smart, intimate and effortless. Ultimately we wanted a party that celebrated all of our relationships with friends and family, and it was critical to make a day for the guests, their comfort, and good conversation. We wanted to get married on that day, but we didn’t want to be more important than all our people. We have heard from more than several guests, separately, that the wedding was so thoughtful without being overwrought, candid without being frugal, comfortable and generous. We had a sometimes challenging family member comment that she had never felt so welcomed and loved in a group of people. Another sometimes challenging family member said that she had never been to an event where the guests felt so important. We know what those things look like in real life but had no idea what that meant for a wedding, and we will always be grateful for Ellen’s understanding and execution of our wishes. People still bring up what a nice weekend they had, and I'm glowing just thinking about our friends and family feeling loved. I’m also glowing thinking about just how beautiful the flowers, plants, lounges, tables and flow of the day were. The tent at Mattie’s was the only superficial thing that worried me because it needed some love to distract from the expanse of lateral bracing, but she and Christin of Clementine Botanical Art executed a perfectly organic, immersive draping. My cousin turned to me to poke fun at how much I had complained about the tent going into the day. It was jaw-dropping good. She and Christin of Clementine coordinated the farm tables and centerpieces to be so lovely but not distracting (or too cumbersome for folks to talk over and around.) The composition should be an archetype. Seriously, brides, you should hire Ellen and Christin and arrange your tables this way. Everyone was wild for how the layout facilitated a wider reach of conversation and how the dinner was just so, so pretty. Okay, I could go on for the 3500 words this review allows me, but how many times can I say how each element was beautiful, thoughtful, and seamless? Ellen Westcott is a very sweet person, but don’t let that fool you. She’s fearless, packs a punch, knows what’s up, listens carefully, drafts a terrifically organized email, and gets it done. She herded these cats into pretty much a perfect day in all the ways.

I wish there were more stars to select because Ellen was absolutely incredible. I wasn’t sure I needed a planner, given the small size of my wedding, but I immediately knew it was the best decision I made throughout the entire process (aside from my groom of course). Every single vendor Ellen suggested was a perfect fit, and she somehow managed to send detailed emails answering questions I had thought of before I even asked her! She understood my vision for the day immediately and executed every detail flawlessly and effortlessly. Ellen has an amazing way of managing everything to perfection in a way that is so calming and reassuring. I never once had the slightest bit of stress during planning because I always knew Ellen had everything under control. Towards the end, I even started deferring most decisions to Ellen! I had 100% trust in her at all times. Her sense of style and taste was exactly on point with mine; I loved every single thing she suggested. I hardly had to describe any vision or idea to her; she always just “got” it. With Ellen as my planner, not only was everything easy and organized and beautiful, it was so much fun!! She made the entire process such a joy, and now that it’s over, I miss her! I can’t recommend Westcott Weddings enough. Ellen is so much more than just an amazing wedding planner, and I am so grateful for finding her and for all of her hard work. Ellen was so amazing! I cannot say enough how much easier she made the whole process. I am not a planner or detailed oriented person and the idea of looking into 14 caterers or florists overwhelmed me. Ellen Westcott of Westcott Weddings was hands down the best decision we could have made regarding our daughter's wedding. Our initial meeting involved getting to know each other, our experiences and my daughter and her fiance's vision for their wedding. Ellen took it from there. Though we live in Austin we were not familiar with the Austin wedding scene and Ellen was very helpful recommending suppliers and vendors. She set up and kept up with all appointments and kept us up to date with the timeline. Ellen is extremely organized and supplied us with a Dropbox site where all contracts, table seating, to-do lists, day of timeline and budget were kept. That was super helpful. Ellen was the MVP of not just the wedding, the entire process. We would select Ellen one million times over, and truthfully, we miss working with her now that the wedding is over. We can only hope that Ellen decides to expand her work to become doula one day (only slightly kidding). Throughout the entire 18 months leading up to the wedding, she went above and beyond to make the design, vendor selection, and ultimately the coordination go completely seamlessly, all while giving birth to her first son, Lincoln. Ellen has incredible taste, the patience of a saint, and the attention to detail of an architect. We were able to trust her with absolutely anything, and she more than overdelivered on our wildest dreams. LOOK NO FURTHER! I remember when my mom and I started this wedding planning process about 10 months ago. Wedding planning isn't really my thing. I can barely plan a birthday party for 20...let alone a wedding for 200. I knew what I wanted in my wedding, my man, my dog, and our families/friends....the rest were things that weren't very important to me. So we set out to find a wedding planner. Our daughter was married in June at Barr Mansion. Hiring Westcott was the best decision we made. Meredith was wonderful throughout the process. She always had a smile and was always a calming influence. She answered all questions and concerns quickly. Meredith resolved several problems that came up during the planning. She worked very hard. Westcott was our second wedding planner and was a joy to work with. The wedding was everything my daughter imagined it to be. Meredith even the day of was making sure everything was perfect. She changed out a bar because it was not right. A detail that we never knew about because it was just taken care of. Cannot thank Meredith enough. Ellen also was at many meetings but was having a baby right around the wedding. She still took time to check on things. Love them!!

The BEST money I ever spent on my wedding was Ellen with Westcott Weddings!!! She is professional, detailed, creative, reliable, and was a comfort for me throughout my whole wedding planning experience.
