Westhampton Pastry Shop

We were searching for a bakery a little late in the process, and had trouble finding one that was available for my daughter's May 1 wedding. I suggested we check with Westhampton, since they'd done a wonderful job with my cake over 33 years ago. We were in the neighborhood, so didn't call ahead, and arrived only about 20 minutes before closing. The owner came out to talk to us when we said we wanted to schedule a tasting. She went into the back and returned with a tray of assorted flavors to taste, and they were all delicious, just as my cake was. The friendliness and service helped seal our decision (and the price was outstanding!). We were so happy and relieved that they were available for our May 1 wedding. And of course, everyone loved the cake. The owner's husband did the decorating, just as he did with mine. It turned out beautifully. I definitely recommend this classic Richmond bakery!

My parents had a Westhampton Pastry Shop cake at their wedding, which was why I went to a tasting at the shop. Oh. My. Gosh. How often do people rave about wedding cakes at the reception? Somehow they manage to make it beautiful (traditional and buttercream frosting), moist, and delicious. Many flavors (highly recommend the spiced rum) and a simple process of choosing what you want. Do yourself and favor and get thee to Patterson Avenue! They dropped off the cake at the reception. All we had to do was pay them.

I did a dessert buffet for my wedding so I ordered a relatively small two tier cake and it was delicious! I wanted very simple classic decorations and got just that. I had so many compliments on the yummy cake!

I absolutely loved my cake from Westhampton! The icing is solo good, I could eat it by the spoonful. Their cakes are more traditional with buttercream icing not fondant but they can still create intricate designs. They are extremely affordable in the Richmond area. The wedding cake flavors are limited compared to some other bakeries but each one tastes fantastic so I think it makes up for it. They are a family owned business and the owners make sure everything is perfect on your day since it's their name on it. I am still eating wedding cake a week and a half later and it tastes just like it did on our wedding day

After going to a number of bakeries in the Richmond area, we decided to go with Westhampton Pasty for our wedding cake and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Their cake was not only delicious, it was very affordable compared to other places (especially for the large wedding we had!). Many of our guests commented about how good the cake was, and they liked that we had different cake flavors. And I don't think we had very much left over! Westhampton Pastry was easy to work with and the process of selecting and designing our cake was easy!

My husband and I used the Westhampton Pastry Shop for our wedding cake. They have been around forever and have a lot of experience with wedding cakes. It was very easy to set up a wedding cake consultation. We went in and met with the owner's wife who laid everything out for us. They have a book with pictures of all of the options--shape, designs, number of layers, etc. NOTE: they don't do fondant. They are also very reasonably priced compared to most of the other options around town--we paid just under $300. After choosing our specifications (3-tier, round, dotted decor), they brought out samples of all of the flavors that they do with a little icing dabbed on each one. We chose two layers of almond and one of marble. It is very pound-cake like which makes it very moist and absolutely delicious. Overall we were very happy with the quality of our cake and the service provided (we provided them with contact numbers for the reception venue and florist and they coordinated with them on timing the day of the wedding--everything arrived on time and looked great).

The company was very easy to work with and very reliable. The cake tasted amazing.;They have very limited design capabilities. If you are looking for something that is outside of the very traditional cake this is not the place for you.
