About this vendor
Westminster Hall is a unique and beautiful wedding venue located in downtown Baltimore. A historic building, the hall is a popular and ideal setting for all kinds of celebrations including wedding receptions and ceremonies, parties, and corporate events.
A creative restoration of this converted Gothic church combines the elegance of stained glass windows, carved oak woodwork, and an 1882 Johnson pipe organ with the convenience of modern amenities and flexible seating options. The Hall can accommodate a maximum of 250 guests, but it is still intimate enough for a group as small as 50.

Highly recommend Westminster!!!! We had such an easy time working with Christina as our wedding coordinator. She kept then entire process stress free for us, especially the actual ...
night of the reception! We wouldn't change a single thing and are so happy we decided to have our reception here. We got so many comments the night of the reception and for weeks afterwards about how much people loved the venue. One person in particular said, "you just feel so comfortable here." Check this place out!!

My husband and I had our ceremony and reception for our 11/11/17 wedding at Westminster Hall and it was more perfect than I ever could have imagined. We had a Harry Potter themed w...
edding and the space seriously felt like Hogwarts. The staff at Westminster Hall were always a pleasure to work with and the price of the venue was so reasonable. We had about 100 guests and the size of the space worked out perfectly. The organ inside is so beautiful and outside (especially the graveyard!) was gorgeous for pictures. One of the greatest parts of the night was that they provided tour guides and allowed our guests to do tours of the catacombs during the cocktail hour - everyone loved it! If you're looking for a venue with a little Baltimore history and an amazing atmosphere, you should definitely check out Westminster Hall!
My husband and I knew this place was our venue the second we walked inside. We had a Nightmare Before Christmas themed wedding, the venue couldn't have been more perfect! We opted ...
to have a tour of the catacombs during our cocktail hour for the guests, everyone loved it!
My husband and I had a vintage glam/Halloween wedding on Oct 25th 2014. Westminster Hall in the heart of downtown Baltimore where Poe is buried in a surrounding graveyard and where...
you can have catacomb tours for your guests was the perfect choice! We actually only looked at Westminster Hall - there was no need to look anywhere else. The inside of the hall is gorgeous and lends itself to being glammed up and partied in. They have a great organ that sounds so awesome when played for the ceremony.
My two problems which probably just needed more preparation on my end is that the acoustics in the hall echoed so the music the DJ was playing didn't always sound the best - I think you need to have a test run to figure out how to solve this problem. The other issue is that during my wedding random tourists were coming into the cemetery where we were having the cocktail hour and doing pics. Westminster Hall is a popular tourist spot in Baltimore and so I think I should have addressed with the Hall that I wanted someone to keep tourists from coming in and out - that made me uncomfortable. If they wanted they could have just joined the party and gotten some food and no one may have noticed!
In addition to being a gorgeous historical landmark ( where Edgar Allen Poe is buried) Westminster Hall is a perfect place for a wedding. We only used the property for our ceremon...
y because we had already booked our reception venue when we found Westminster Hall as a ceremony location. Everyone at Westminster Hall was so wonderful to work with, especially Mary Jo, the director. I would highly recommend this location!!!
The staff at Westminster Hall were easily accessible and helpful. They got in touch with us and responded to any questions or concerns almost immediately. The Hall itself is gorg...
eous and hardly needs any added decor. In fact, we didn't add any (but that was my personal preference). The Hall also offers having a tour guide if you'd like to offer that option to your guests (and we definitely did, and heard wonderful things!). We opted to have our reception elsewhere simply b/c bringing in a full service caterer was not within our budget (we found a full-service caterer to be anywhere between $14,000-$18,000, depending on what options you choose; type of bar, number of appetizers, type of entrees). Holding a wedding at Westminster Hall does require that you be flexible and open to a blank slate. If that's what you're looking for, then this is a great space to work with. If you would like to simply hold your ceremony in the space, then that is also an option. The staff was very helpful and flexible in allowing us to stay later on Friday night for the rehearsal due to bad weather and horrendous traffic, which caused the rehearsal to begin over an hour late than intended. Overall, an excellent experience with Westminster Hall! We are very happy.
We couldn't have been happier with this venue. It was important to us to have everyone and everything to take place in one room without doing a traditional hotel ballroom so this ...
was perfect. We were easily able to fit our 200 guest and the "stadium seating" allowed everyone a good view of the dance floor and the bride and groom. The older guests liked being able to sit and still enjoy everything and the kids loved being able to play and watch everyone in the choir balcony. Everyone was very impressed with the history of the hall as well and I would highly recommend the guided tours of the catacombs - it's a fun way to entertain your guests during cocktail hour. The staff was friendly and easy to work with. Westminster Hall is a well kept secret all Baltimore brides should explore!
Westminster Hall is a beautiful historic site. It is the site of Edgar Alen Poe's grave. The Hall itself is an Church that has been converted into a hall. There are beautiful va...
lted ceilings and a Johnson Pipe organ that served at the backdrop for the wedding. The staff was very accommodation and always responded quickly to my emails. I visited the site several times before the wedding and they offered to let me see different wedding being set up. They offered tours of the catacombs below the church during my cocktail hour. I was a little nervious about this but my guests raved about the tour.;The decor is a little dated but with the right color palet noone will ever notice.
