Wexner Park

I found Wexner Park while browsing the internet for ceremony locations halfway between Columbus and Johnstown, where our reception would be. This place was more than exceeded our needs and is beautiful. The long courtyard is perfect for a ceremony. They rent the courtyard & shelter out in 2 hour increments, which was great for us. We rented chairs from an outside company and had a nice quiet ceremony. My only wish is that the kitchenette would've been unlocked (as it was supposed to be) for my husband to hide out in when I passed by after taking our pre-ceremony pictures. Instead he had to wait in the bathroom, which was less than ideal. Our bridal party actually walked down the sidewalk along the side of the courtyard because it had rained the day before and we were afraid we would sink in our heels and get stuck in the grass. Had this not been an option, I'm not sure what we would've done. It was a great back-up plan! We stood in the semi-circle where the sidewalks meet, and the chairs were lined in the grass. Afterward, we had our receiving line under the shelter (which is really too pretty to be called a shelter) and then the kids played on the playground as we finished up our pictures. We received so many compliments about how beautiful it was. There was plenty of parking and we really had the whole place to ourselves. For any summer brides, I'm not sure I would've decided to go with this location because it is right next to a community pool. We originally looked at the location during the summer and the pool was pretty loud and there were limited parking spaces from the pool guests. There are also sports fields on the other side. I'm not sure if they are just practice fields or if games are actually held there, but this wasn't an issue for us either. There wasn't anyone else in the vicinity at all. If you're looking for gorgeous place before Memorial Day or after Labor Day, this place is really perfect.
