If I had to pick two things to highlight about Weymouth Hill, it would be their flexibility and their quality of service. For a flexibility example, I forgot to communicate a coupl...
e extremely key details to Elizabeth: one, that we would be bringing in some sound equipment that we would have to drop off the night before and arrive early to set up, and two, that we would be doing line dancing that would require us to break down nearly all the tables after the meal. Elizabeth learned about both of these during our rehearsal the day before the wedding, and she took them completely in stride. She let us drop off our equipment and let some of our party in early to set up, and while we had originally planned for the groomsmen and other guests to help with table breakdown, she even reserved some extra workers from set up to help things move more quickly. She was also completely willing to move the ceremony inside or out depending on weather, which turned out to be a very valuable thing indeed!
I have at least half a dozen wonderful examples of Weymouth Hill's excellent service, but I think these two moments exemplify it best. As we got closer to our big day, the forecast started to look a little ominous, but it was only supposed to be light rain several hours before the wedding, so we rehearsed outside and planned to be outdoors. Then, the morning of, the rain was not only harder than expected, but later in the morning as well. To add to the stress, I was about an hour late getting to the venue. I arrived half in a panic, so worried that we would end up with damp seats and a drizzly ceremony. I hurried into the English Cottage with my bridesmaids and found Elizabeth as soon as I could to apologize for my tardiness and see if we could possibly move things inside so late--only to find that everything was already set up inside the Lodge. Elizabeth had taken care of everything. That sense of relief carried me through the rest of the day. Elizabeth and her team gave me the “Chillest Bride Award,” but rest assured, I was only able to be so calm because of their excellent work!
Another day-of example: as my husband and I were filling out our marriage license details, we asked Elizabeth about how to fill in a particular blank, and she thought to ask where our pastor was registered as an officiant. As it turns out, his state of residence does not have reciprocity with Ohio! Yikes! That’s definitely not a hiccup you want to have at your wedding. But Elizabeth, once again, had a solution ready to go. She called up a judge, asked him a couple questions about the reciprocity, and set up to meet him at a baseball game he was attending so he could sign the license. Elizabeth drove over there herself to bring him the paperwork. I don’t think I need to highlight how stellar that kind of behavior is, but I will: Elizabeth went above and beyond in every possible way. Her preparation and willingness to go the extra mile saved my husband and I endless headaches and, potentially, having to do a second, legally binding wedding. I don’t think any other venue would have done half as much as she did for us.
Overall, my experience with Weymouth Hill was stellar. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for an elegant wedding location with an excellent staff. Our wedding was a joyful, beautiful celebration, and I’m so glad we had it at Weymouth!
