Wheat & Water is a delightful eatery that specializes in mouth-watering wood-fired pizza, shared plates, healthy, crispy salads, and charcuterie boards. They also boast a variety of beers that are made at a number of local and national breweries, as well as ones from Europe. Non-alcoholic cocktails are also available. The restaurant was opened in 2016 with the aim of bringing their community delicious food, fantastic drinks, and excellent service, all while keeping it local and simple. They want to help you and your loved ones make beautiful, fun memories that will last you a lifetime. At Wheat & Water, you can drink, dine, and mingle with up to 200 of your favourite people in either the indoor or outdoor areas.
Wheat & Water's fantastic menu features a variety of tasty items. You can look forward to house salads made with lots of fresh greens, carrots, and tomatoes, delicious burgers and sandwiches, wings covered in tasty sauces, and a variety of divine pizzas. The wonderful, friendly team will work hard to make your big day a success, and they will strive to ensure everyone has an amazing time. They will work with you to make this the wedding you have always dreamed of. Wheat & Water is also available for engagement parties and wedding showers.

As a proud mom to a wonderful son (with our second arriving in late 2025) and the wife of one of Wheat & Water’s owners, this restaurant holds a special place in my heart. I love serving as the Event Coordinator because it brings together my passion for organization, attention to detail, and love for hosting. Every event is unique, and I take pride in ensuring each one is thoughtfully planned from start to finish. My husband and I are deeply grateful to be part of the Bird Rock/La Jolla community—and it’s an honor to help create unforgettable celebrations for our guests.

We hosted a Welcome Party on the Wheat and Water outdoor patio a couple of weeks ago for our daughter's wedding weekend. We worked closely with Andrew on our needs and special requests and he did an amazing job of accommodating our group. Every...
thing from the food and beverage we selected, table placement, and layout of the space, could not have been better. In addition to the party, we had a private family dinner before hand ordering directly from the menu and bar on a separate tab. Everything was delicious. The party food came out hot and on time and was refreshed throughout the evening. Our server, Makenzie, along with Andrew, handled the entire event with grace, efficiency, and humor. The evening could not have been more perfect. Note about the photos, we did bring in some of our own decor!

h! I must admit, I’m less adventurous on pizzas and prefer to stay traditional, but it’s a must try. We got it without bacon since my friend is vegetarian and she was raving about it.

Dined on the dog-friendly patio tonight. Hostess was really nice but unfriendly server negatively impacted the experience. Food was mediocre - the $18 Hamachi Crudo was disappointingly small, and the Potato Pizza was just okay. Poor value for m...
