Whik'd Hair and Makeup Hawaii (Wicked)

Sarah and her team are incredibly talented. I had the honor of working with Sarah for my hair/makeup. Sarah was so friendly and took time to get to know me as a person, my style, and look at my inspiration photos. She was so receptive to any feedback or requests I had so that I ended up with exactly what I was hoping for but better! I enjoyed getting to know her and especially loved how I looked in my photos. I highly recommend using Whik’d for events!

Sarah and her team were fantastic! We started planning way back in 2019 and had a year of reschedules due to COVID and other unforeseen circumstances, and Sarah was always accommodating with rescheduling the trial date and the wedding date. I'm not particularly experienced with makeup (or hair, for that matter) but when I walked into Sarah's studio for my HMU trial, I was instantly put at ease by her friendly demeanor and professionalism! After showing her a couple of pictures, she instantly 'got' what I was looking for, and even threw in another awesome hairstyle for a photoshoot I had later in the day. The day of, Sarah and her team showed up and were fantastic at responding to everyone's wants (I had HMU for MoB, MoG, and bridesmaids). My hair and makeup was even better than it was during the trial, and afterwards Sarah gave me a little touchup kit in case I needed it throughout the day - which, as it turned out, I didn't! The hair and makeup both lasted all the way to the wee hours of the morning! I can't recommend Sarah and her team enough!

I was in the best hands with Sarah and her team. I did my bridal trial a couple days prior to the wedding and her hair and makeup lasted alllll day. That was important to me because I know Island Humidity can change everything. Her team did my makeup and hair for myself, my mom, and 3 bridesmaids. They were so accommodating and everyone left so happy and beautiful! They also got my mom to be happy which is difficult enough. Sarah was amazing to work with! So personable, understandable, and amendable to ideas.

As someone who does not do her makeup very often, I was so grateful to have Sarah there to help me get ready on my wedding day! I actually did a trial run with her first in her home to get comfortable with what look I was going for on my big day. She was so friendly and welcoming! On the day of the wedding, Sarah and her team were able to do our hair and makeup for my three sisters, my mom, and me. Everyone was glowing and looked naturally gorgeous! Whik'd Hawaii made us all feel beautiful and confident plus she provided us with little touch-up kits in case we needed throughout the evening but we didn't end up having to use them. I loved her work and products so much actually ordered the makeup she used afterward to keep using and preserve my wedding glow when I get dressed up and take the time to do my makeup! I was so grateful to be able to have our wedding before the pandemic shut down and even more glad to have Sarah by my side while getting ready on our special day!

Destination weddings can be super exciting but also scary because you don’t get to meet your vendors before the big day. Our wedding planner recommended Sarah to us and after seeing her portfolio, I promptly booked her a year in advance. I had a makeup trial a week out from our wedding, which I also used for our pre-wedding photo shoot, and that’s when I knew I was in the best hands. Without giving her any inspiration, I asked Sarah to just do her thing on me and boy did she deliver! I honestly could not fault her work! Little did I know that Sarah would exceed my expectations on the wedding day! I have pretty low self-confidence but hands down I can say that I have never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day!! Everyone thought my makeup look amazing and even better, it lasted all night and did not need to be touched up!!! I would highly recommend Sarah for any bride to be – you will not regret it!! Not only is Sarah an amazing MUA, she is also one of the sweetest, friendliest and funniest people that you will ever meet. My wife and I barely wear makeup and honestly, sometimes I don't even brush my hair... So when we knew we needed to hire Hair & Makeup for our wedding day we were a little nervous. We found Whik'd Hair and Makeup online and people only had great things to say about Sarah (owner) and her team of hair & makeup magicians. On our wedding day Sarah and Moana came up to the North Shore (no travel fee) and made us and our 2 maid of honors so comfortable. We talked story, listened to music, and they helped us feel at ease. We all felt gorgeous! One thing I learned throughout this process is that the type of makeup that is used is extremely important for wedding photos. Sarah is AMAZING!!!! I got my hair done by her as a bridesmaid and I knew immediately when it was my turn to get married that I wanted her and her team. I got 2 trials done before hand and she was great about flexibility with my schedule and helping me figure out what would look best for my hair type, length, face, dress, etc.. Each trial was beautiful, but nothing topped the day of the actual wedding- my hair was the talk among my guests! It was absolute PERFECTION!

Sarah and her girls are extremely professional, responsive, and talented. My experience with booking was seamless and handled entirely by Sarah. Although Sarah did not actually do the hair and makeup on the day, she organised everything and made the whole process so easy. We planned our destination May 2018 wedding at Loulu Palm from abroad (UK and New Zealand). Planning a wedding from abroad, we made plans and vendor decisions based on reviews. We were blessed to find Whick’d hair and makeup! Sarah was truly wonderful to work with. Sarah was responsive to emails, accommodating when adding more women for hair & makeup services, as well as to changes in timeline. Sarah was organized and efficient with a thorough hair & makeup timeline for the 10 women getting ready in 3.5 hours the day of the wedding! I, the bride, had my hair and makeup trial 3 days prior to the wedding. Meeting Sarah for the trial put me at ease. Sarah was welcoming, easy to communicate with and the wedding look designed was beautiful! On the wedding day, Sarah and her team were fantastic! The day was relaxing and fun. My bridesmaids, mother of the bride, mother of the groom, my grandmother and myself were simply blown away by our wedding looks! Sarah was amazing at doing my hair and make up for the wedding. They hair trial was definitely worth it and I was able to figure out how I wanted my hair. Sarah and her assistant did all the make up and hair for my bridal party and she was so fun to be around. Everything came out wonderfully. I highly recommend them.

Sarah did my hair and my makeup, as well as my mother's makeup, for the commitment ceremony we had in Waimanalo in February. I could not have asked for a better experience- Sarah travelled to the house we were staying in, brought everything, and did an amazing job at listening to what we wanted and tailoring our makeup to us individually. She was perfectly prompt and got everything done efficiently, and was so much fun to hang out with. Leaving me with a touch up bag of lipstick and powder was genius. I used Sarah to do the hair and makeup for our entire bridal party for our wedding at Turtle Bay in September 2017 after getting a recommendation from a friend that also got married on the island a few years ago. She recommended Sarah without hesitation and I would do the same. Even with changes to our bridal party, she was responsive and flexible, all the way up until the very last second. She and Alex were on time and professional....but without being stuffy or un-fun. On the real, if I lived on Oahu I would want to be friends with Sarah lol. As far as the results...holy cow. I am a pretty low key person in my day to day. I work in a hospital and doing my hair and makeup doesn't make a ton of sense for me all the time. I could not have been more pleased with how I looked. It was exactly what I wanted. I felt so pretty and got complements all night long and NEVER HAD TO REAPPLY MY MAKEUP. LIKE...WTF?!?!?! I WAS DANCING, EATING, AND DRINKING...OUTSIDE. IN THE HUMIDITY. Organising a wedding overseas you have to put a lot of trust in the vendors you are booking. I picked Whik'd due to their great reviews and they well and truly lived up to their name! I was so so happy with our hair and makeup! My makeup lasted all day, even after me balling my eyes out at the ceremony it still looked freshly done. First let me start with Amazing! Sarah and her team made me feel stress free. I was originally supposed to have my makeup done by someone else, but unfortunately that did not work out. Only a couple months before the wedding and it's summertime. Also I'm getting married on 7/7/17. Needless to say I was stressed out. I looked at a couple website's and asked my wedding planner if she could recommended anyone, and she recommended whik'd. I was happy to see that because that was one of the website I really liked. To my suprise they were not fully booked for that day. So I set up a trial with Jennifer last minute. She is very sweet and welcoming. She did what I asked and changed what I didn't like. About a week before the wedding I wanted to add my mother on to do makeup and hair. I wasn't sure if we would be able to so close to the wedding, but it was no problem. The big day Jennifer and Erika came on time and went right to work, one did hair the other makeup. There were 5 of us, we were so ahead of time that we were able to add my sister-in-law on to do makeup. I changed one thing different on my hair and Jennifer had no problem doing. They did such an amazing job. My makeup and hair was exactly what I wanted. I definitely will us this company again in the future.

Great, FAST service! I was a little nervous about working with Whik'd initially only because I didn't get to meet the stylist before my wedding day and wasn't sure if one stylist would be able to complete full hair and makeup for both myself and my MOH within two hours but I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed! Cedrian was my stylist and was able to complete both hair and makeup for both myself and my MOH in the short timeframe and we looked flawless! After showing Cedrian pictures of the looks we both wanted and explaining the wedding theme to her she got to work and made sure were were flawless and in my MOH's case, within her comfort zone yet wedding ready. Cedrian was also fun, funny, polite and very professional the whole way through! I'd recommend Whik'd to anyone who needs wedding day hair and makeup!

Whik'd is truly a gem! I was extremely stressed out during wedding planning but during my Hair & Make-up trial a month beforehand, Sarah was the first vendor who actually made me feel excited and more at ease about the wedding day! She gave me amazing advice and is just extremely personable and also VERY talented. She did my hair and make-up so fast and it was absolutely gorgeous. I received so many compliments from just the trial! I'm also very particular about my eyebrows, that I had done it myself for the trial, but Sarah did such a good job that I trusted her completely on the big day! Sarah was so easy to work with. I planned my destination wedding from Michigan, not meeting the stylists or doing any trial runs before the big day. I worked with Sarah O and she was awesome. She came all the way out to the north shore for my trial and was super talented. Her work was so amazing that other bridesmaid who were originally going to do their own hair and make-up decided to have her do it the day of the wedding. Planning a destination wedding is stressful, and trying to plan hair an make up with out having a trial or even meeting the stylist before the wedding was one of my main causes for anxiety, but Sarah from Whik'd put all that anxiety at easy. She was very prompt with returning emails and even had a FaceTime meeting with me so that we could be as face-to-face as possible. The day of the wedding it was wonderful to have her come to our resort. She was on time and worked within our schedule. She is so talented and was able to take the looks we liked from photos and make them work perfectly. The air brushed make up was wonderful for the Hawaii heat and looked flawless in all the photos from morning to night. And to top it all she has a great sense of humour and was so personable that the morning was full of laughter.

We found Sarah online and was nervous about never having a trail with her or anything. Sarah was on time professional, responsive and made us feel at ease. She did the hair for the mom's and my hair and airbrush makeup. It turned out beautifully and I would definitely recommend her without hesitation.

My title encapsulates most of my experience with Whik'd Hawaii. Initially, I met Sarah, the owner, at my friend's wedding in July 2013. I was a bridesmaid and Sarah and her team did our hair and makeup. It was fabulous! Then, for our engagement shoot in October, Sarah once again did a wonderful job. Lastly, for our wedding on January 11th, 2014, Sarah and her team took care of me, my four bridesmaids, and my mom!! I couldn't have asked for more - we had so many compliments!! The best part was Sarah and her team were always on time and immediately ready to get the show on the road! As professional as they were, they were so much FUN to work with! Their skills never faltered even with all the jokes and storytelling going back and forth between me and my girls and Sarah and her girls! It was nice to laugh and relax even as we were rushing to get ready. If you're on the fence about whether to get a hair and makeup person for your wedding, remember that the photos you take that day will be cherished the rest of your life. It will be worth every penny you spend....trust me! Thank you Sarah!! You helped to make our day even more beautiful!! P.S. Sarah and her team was amazing. First off, she was always easy to contact via e-mail which was super helpful since I live in Vegas and wasn't able to meet her in person prior to the day of the wedding. I was a little weary of that part (not meeting her until the day of) but as soon as I met her and her team, I felt like we knew each other for years. Her other two girls were Cheryl and Leesa. Her team fit right in with my girls too, they were all laughing and smiling and having a great time. We had one bride and 5 bridesmaids to do. Prior to the wedding day, Sarah put together a timeline to get everyone done by a specified time that I provided. She and her team got all six of us done in exactly the right time. Our hair and makeup looked so amazing! The makeup didn't feel caked on, but really enhanced everyone's face and each of our different features. My girls weren't exactly sure what they wanted to do with their hair or makeup, but Sarah came prepared with a variety of pictures on her iPad and we just picked what we wanted and her team made it happen. We looked exactly like the pictures. Our makeup lasted the whole night and up until the next day. I didn't want to wash it off, it looked so good even the next morning. My hair stayed put for the most part, but with all the humidity, it was tough. My girls and family were so amazed! My groom loved it so much he said... can I do the make up like this more often. One more note, if you're like me... I'm a little on the plain side when doing makeup, but Sarah and my girls talked me into doing the false eyelashes... my tip: Definitely! They enhanced the entire look. Everyone told me I looked beautiful that day and I felt beautiful too. I'm a little frugal too, but am willing to pay for good quality items. I felt like every penny I spent on Sarah and her team was well worth it and would do it all over again! Thanks Whik'd!!!

If you don't hire Sarah and Whik'd Hawaii... you will be sorry. I could not have imagined I could ever look as beautiful as I did -- it was all hair and make-up! Sarah was the easiest, most relaxed and fun person to work with. I sat back and let her do her thing and the results ... WOW! Sarah was right on time, super professional, and put me at ease the second I shook her hand. I flew in from the mainland for my wedding and never met her or did a formal consult. All of our communication was via email and I never worried for a second because from my first email inquiry, she was quick, thorough, and professional. I sent her a few pictures of myself so she could see my face shape, hair length, and bone structure, and then a few pics of hair styles I liked. That was it. I cannot recommend Sarah and Whik'd Hawaii highly enough! She made my wedding day so relaxed and the touch-up kit she gave me was perfect for when I got a little shiny from the humidity. She also did my mother and my Officiants' hair, and they looked fantastic!

How easy can it really be? Sarah makes it so convenient, she comes to you! Sarah's as on time and ready to rock. I t took very little explanation for her to get my makeup perfect. I showed her a pic of what I wanted for my hair and she was off to the races! She used airbrush foundation which stayed in place the whole day and even provided me with a cute little touch up kit.

Sarah and her team are so professional and talented. I was so happy to have them do my hair and make-up for me and my bridal party and the price was more than affordable. My only issue was no concealer. I had a few stress pimples that the air brush didnt cover and i wished some concealer were used. But overall i couldnt have asked for a better glam squad.

I've never got professional make up before so I was little nervous about it. I asked Sarah to do natural make up. Seriously NATURAL since I didn't want to look like a different person on my wedding day. She listened to me very carefully and she did fantastic job!! I highly recommended to do a trial with her also. I could tell exactly how I would feel on my wedding day and could make some changes too. My make up and hair stayed same all day. I was more than 100% satisfied with her job! Thank you Sarah!

I travelled around parts of the USA prior to attending my friend's wedding in Hawaii last month (Sept 2013). I contacted Sarah from Whik'd Hawaii to have my hair and makeup done for the wedding. I chose Sarah's site because it looked modern and not old fashioned. My instincts were correct and Sarah did a fantastic job, I even had a few people in the lift at my hotel give me compliments (which was great!). The charges were very reasonable, also included visiting me at my hotel. It was nice to get pampered and dress up for a wonderful occasion! I would recommend Sarah to anyone, if I was ever to get married in that location I would contact her straight away, and I live in Australia! Thanks Sarah, it was lovely to meet you.

As a mainlander over 8 hours away, I had to leave a lot of trust in my wedding planner and not being able to do a trial run of hair and make-up stressed me out a little. I have had my hair and make-up done numerous times over the years (dances, modeling, pageants, etc.) and I know the wrong shade of blush or the wrong contour of eyeliner can make or break your photos. I have no idea what I was so stressed out about SARAH O IS AMAZING. I have honestly never looked or felt more beautiful in my entire life. My hair and make-up held up all day in the humidity and all night through a serious post-wedding dance party :) I wish I could keep her in my pocket and take her with me wherever I go. She is truly an artist.

As a foreigner marrying in a Hawaii, it was scary not knowing which services to use for our day. Thankfully the wedding company we used sent the gorgeous Sarah my way. Her friendly & engaging nature put me at ease immediately and had me so relaxed on what can otherwise be a stressful day for any woman. I felt like I was in the company of an old friend. My hair an makeup could not have been more perfect. I got exactly what I wanted ... and more. I'm not photogenic at all but we did not have a single bad photo, thanks in large to Sarah's fantastic work. I'm a bit of a tomboy normally, and my husband could not believe the transformation. He was brought to tears. I felt the most beautiful I ever have. I myself still can't believe the change into the beautiful bride Sarah helped me become. I can't stop looking at our photos. We keep saying we want to return to Hawaii and do it all over again. It was so amazing. Would I use Whik'd Hawaii again? You betcha, I wouldn't hesitate. Would I recommend Whik'd Hawaii to you? She was super friendly and easy to work with. I have never felt so pretty. I loved how she did my hair and makeup!! hair and makeup was still flawless at the end of the night, and it was an outside wedding. Would definitely work with her again, she was awesome!

I recently worked with Sarah from Whik'd for my Oahu destination wedding. I had a trial for the engagement shoot and the wedding day makeup/hair done. Sarah was great and listened to what I wanted and made suggestions for what would work well in the Hawaiian heat. We exchanged emails when I decided to change up the makeup and hair looks for the wedding day and she was prepped and ready to do the new look on the day. Working with Whik'd was easy in terms of scheduling, payment, and navigating their website. I also had a blast chatting with Sarah, who was friendly and very personable. From my initial contact to the day of the wedding, Sarah was very responsive to all my emails. She was on time the day of the wedding. She was very fun and made everyone feel very comfortable. Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about these women. Sarah, the owner, is a wonderful woman. The second they got to our hotel room for hair and makeup, the positive energy and happiness just enveloped the room. I would not have wanted any other makeup and hair team to work with myself and my family on the big day. They are amazing and Sarah made me look so wonderful, my husband says that he's never seen me look so beautiful. Myself, my maid of honor, my mom, and my mother-in-law felt like a million bucks. Sarah was so personable and easy to work with. She always responded to emails and phone calls. I opted to do a trial run with her just to ease my mind. I was very happy with the trial and twice as happy on the day of the wedding. I did the trial at her place and the day of she came to my hotel room. Even with Honolulu traffic she showed up at exactly the time we had agreed on. She used waterproof makeup and I never once had to touch up throughout the day. She kindly provided me with a little touch up bag with hairspray lipstick bobby pins a small sponge everything I would have needed except she did such a good job other than the lipstick I never needed the other items. Her prices are comparable if not lower than other stylists. If you are looking for someone for your special day I would without a doubt recommend Sarah!

I didn't have to stress about running lat, actually the men were running late and the ladies were ready thanks to Sarah. Before finding Sarah i called the other 4 most popular companies, LA Glam, Maleana, Flaunt, Makeup by Bev and I was desperate to find the right person to use....all of the above we either overpriced, wouldn't return phone calls, would take weeks to reply emails and only the first one, or some of their reviews made them seem unreliable....some of them even copy each others photos on their websites. I HAD NONE OF THESE PROBLEMS WITH SARAH! SARAH IS AMAZING IN EVERY WAY AND I CAN'T STRESS TO ANY BRIDE WHO IS PLANNING A WEDDING ABROAD (I ORGANISED MINE FROM AUSTRALIA) THAT SARAH IS NUMBER 1...NO JOKE! I have to be honest, I was picky. I got Sarah to change my hairstyle a few times during the hair trial, and on the day of my wedding, went with a completely different look for both hair and makeup. Through it all, Sarah was easy-going, accommodating, and VERY patient. In the end, I loved my hair and makeup, as did my sisters. Sarah and Rhiannon did a fantastic job.

Sarah was so easy to work with in planning our North Shore Oahu destination wedding. She was fun, flexible, and helpful, and didn't even upcharge us for the drive to the North Shore. Her rates were very affordable. She and her assistant, Rhiannon were timely, professional, and best of all, SKILLED! They did an amazing job on all of us, and as as the bride, I felt truly gorgeous! I just loved the smoky eye that she did with a light dusting of purple that I requested. It made my green eyes pop! The custom airbrushing was natural and flawless. I hated to wash the make up off at bedtime. I've never had such a beautiful make up application before. Loved it! My hair turned out amazing as well and both hair and makeup had no problem staying put for the entire afternoon/evening. I definitely recommend that you say, YES to Sarah at Whik'd for your wedding.

When my fiance and I got engaged, we looked at several different local options in the Los Angeles / Santa Barbara area. However, we ultimately decided on a destination wedding in Hawaii (specifically Oahu). The hardest and most stressful part for me was finding a hair & makeup person. I was so lucky to find Sarah! Since NONE of my family and friends were able to attend for various reasons, I needed someone who was willing to go above and beyond the call of duty! Right off the bat, she was very easy to communicate with. She promptly responded to my e-mails and answered all of my questions. The day of my wedding, she showed up to my hotel room 10 minutes early and immediately got to work! She set up her table and equipment and talked me through some hair & makeup options. She understood what I wanted which made the process easy for me! While she was doing my hair & makeup, we had a great conversation. She was really cool, personable and professional. It was a completely stress-free situation! In addition, she helped me get into my corset-style dress, and even took pictures of myself and my fiance as we saw each other for the first time in the lobby of the hotel. Sarah, thank you SOOOO much for making our special day fantastic! My hair and make-up was fabulous and I really appreciated all of your help! I highly recommend Sarah and her Whik'd company!!!!!!

Sarah and her team were awesome! I got married at the Aulani on Oct 6th and I had a big party to get there hair and makeup done (there were 9 of us!). The whole time none of us were rushed, everyone was fun, and it was just a really relaxing environment. All of my bridesmaids more beautiful a long with my mom and mother in law. And of course I was the most beautiful of all! The makeup and hair lasted all night! Sarah and her team did a great job at listening to what everyone wanted a delivered. Sarah did a hair and airbrush makeup trial for me before my wedding and I was SO happy with it! I felt afterward that I didn't even need a trial with her as it was perfect - just the way I had hoped and imagined it would look! She has much talent! ;) The wedding day, my hair stayed curled and in place, but still the beachy look I had wanted. I was hot, sweaty and teary all day and my makeup lasted. I kid you not, I only blotted once with a sponge from the little touch up kit she leaves you. She was so fun and sweet and she really put me at ease! I'd love to see her next time we're in Hawaii! Sarah was amazing!! My bridesmaids and I absolutely loved our hair and makeup - they were gorgeous. I met Sarah for a trial first and she was very responsive to suggestions and refining the look so it was exactly what I wanted. She travelled to us on the day and was right on schedule.
