Whippoorwill Hill is a wedding venue located in Bloomington, IN. Situated just six miles south of Bloomington, this restored barn is over 130 years old and sits on the oldest working farm in Monroe County, providing an authentic and picturesque backdrop for your special day.
Whippoorwill Hill is a meticulously restored 1892 historic structure reimagined in 2016 to create the perfect balance of rustic elegance and contemporary amenities. Set on 156 acres of pristine, nationally historically designated farmland, the venue offers complete seclusion and unobstructed views of Southern Indiana's breathtaking landscape. With a generous 300-person capacity, you don't need to compromise on your guest list. The main barn boasts 5,470 square feet of interior space, complemented by two expansive porches adding another 3,760 square feet of covered area. Seven large sliding doors open on three sides, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience with panoramic views of the countryside. The venue's open vendor policy gives you the freedom to customize your celebration according to your vision and budget. With indoor, covered, and outdoor ceremony options, you are covered no matter the weather.
Whippoorwill Hill sets itself apart by including almost everything needed for a memorable celebration. They provide beautiful Chiavari chairs with cushions, tables for dining and events, and rolling bars for beverage service. You can also choose from an entire attic of decor items and enjoy a complimentary setup of all furniture. There are also fire pits for s'mores or warming up on cool evenings. Jeff and Anne bought the historic farm in 2015 and were married on the property in 2016. They moved the wedding barn from Shelbyville, Indiana in 2016 and built Whippoorwill Hill with the help of their 6 year old son and families. Jeff and Anne continue to build their farm and venue around adoration of their farmland, respect of the historic buildings on site, deep love of family and the song Deeper Than the Holler by Randy Travis. Whippoorwill Hill is truly a working family farm, home to 40 head of cattle and one barn cat named Sully.

My husband and I could not imagine a better place to start our marriage and celebrate with our family and friends.
WWH also has a fantastic team. Anne is quick to answer any questions you have ahead of your big day. The WWH team did so much preparation to assure our day went smoothly. Tammy and Joy were such sweethearts and helped out in so many ways on the wedding day.

detailed communication from the Whippoorwill team throughout our planning process, and all the decor they provide - we were blown away by how great this venue was and how much bang you get for your buck! The property is stunning and so well cared for and our guests commented all evening about what a beautiful place it was! My fiance and I were so grateful to find a venue that not only has a fair price but also allowed the freedom to choose the vendors that fit our budget! The only downside is the lack of AC in the main barn area - we got married on July 4th in the high 80s and it was definetely hot! But I think that is to be expected for a outdoor barn wedding so that factor doesn't take away from the overall great expereince of Whippoorwill Hill! The air-conditioned bathrooms and kitchen were a great respite from the heat and our Venue Coordinator for the day came prepared with little fans that our bridal party passed around which was a very well-thoughtout touch. Every member of the Whippoorwill team I interacted with was fantastic and so helpful! Such a gem of a venue!

l by itself. I had roughly 230 people attend and the venue was able to hold this capacity no problem! The venues team was beyond helping before, during, and after my wedding. We rented the venue the day before as well and the staff was on time to let us in and was there to help and answer any questions we had. Upon arrival to the venue, the team had already set up all the tables and chairs for me according to the floor plan I had provided them. They were also there for the duration of my wedding and helped with anything we needed. We also hired them after the event to clean up which was a life saver. Overall I couldn't recommended this venue enough! With the help from the staff and the beauty of this venue, my wedding was everything I had ever dreamed it would be!

Anne was always available to answer any questions, and all of her staff were absolutely fantastic! They were available for clean-up, which was very helpful. The value of booking an event at Whippoorwill Hill is phenomenal. The tables, decor closet, ability to rent chairs for inside and out, as well as the list of incredible vendors that they have used and vetted are so helpful. It was an easy experience planning a wedding here in less than a year!
Aside from all of that, we were grateful to not only find a venue that welcomed a queer wedding-but celebrated us. Anne helped us have the most joy-filled celebration of our dreams, and I'm grateful that a quick google search brought us to Whippoorwill Hill

Whippoorwills beauty and price point won us over, all Of our family and us traveled from out of town to have this barn as our venue.
