rla was one of the easiest and most thoughtful vendors we worked with. She reached out to us first early March informing us we can move the date if needed without charge and she will handle it all with the venue and coordinator. So we didn't have to worry about anything. June starts to approach and the rules changed again in HTX with COVID. We informed Carla that this time the wedding has been postponed and most likely happen in New Jersey. She was very compassionate and offered us a full refund. We didn't even ask for a refund but she offered it stating we deserve to be stress free when it comes to cake. Carla is an angel and I cannot thank her enough for just being 100% present throughout this entire virus wedding situation.

se of this promise, we did not save our top tier and are now out of a beautiful tradition because of her lack of customer service. She lists another bakery on her main contact page, I contacted her there and was able to reach her. Not only was she incredibly rude but she hung up on me when I stated I did not want to have her call me back because she is near impossible to reach. 100% do not recommend.

chocolate peanut butter cake and I had a GF lemon blueberry cake. My husband couldn't even tell the cake was gluten free and I think he almost preferred my cake to his! All of our guests were so happy to have the gf option and couldn't believe it was gf either.
One thing that was really important to us was having a good cake that our guests would love. I have been to several weddings where the cake is gorgeous, but it tastes really dry or really sugary and there is not much flavor, so we were super happy to find Whisk! We had so many guests compliment us on our cake and the flavors we chose. And our guests that chose the GF option couldn't tell the difference. So whether you're looking for a GF cake or a regular cake, Whisk makes the best cakes and I very highly recommend them!

usbands cake was a three tier cake, each layer a different Houston sports team. Usually cakes that look this good are decorated with fondant and don’t taste good but Carla used minimal fondant and the cakes tasted amazing. She also suggested we make one of the tiers a dummy in order to save some money since we didn’t need that many tiers for the amount of guests we were having. Not only that but When I asked about the missing necklace I requested. She said the pearls wouldn’t stay together and that she bought the necklace ( not edible) from a store but left it at home. When requested a price adjustment for the missing necklace. She said her price didn’t included the pearl necklace.
Although we agreed on according to the picture I had sent her and we talked about it at the cake tasting. I was bummed the finished cake wasn’t made the way we agree on.

I never want to leave a cake unfinished, whether it be for a wedding, birthday, or shower! At the time we planned your cake, we had discussed having something written on it, but never finalized the exact detail. I had packed the calligraphy tools so that I could finish it with your approval when you picked it up. Again, I wanted to ensure you were completely satisfied with the cake. You are correct about the nervousness with writing! I know it is not my strongest baking skill and had expressed that to you. Once we were able to discuss the final details and you showed me the shower invitation at pickup, I was able to write “Maria & Co.” on the cake… I was very pleased with how the writing turned out!

We were supposed to get married in Houston on the weekend when Hurricane Harvey hit. Our wedding was canceled by the venue the day before it was supposed to take place. Despite the sudden change in schedule, Carla was able to have all of our cupcakes and cake ready in time for our reception. I don't know how she did it on such short notice, but it was amazing!

With her help, we ended up with a beautiful table that our guests raved about. In addition, she worked with our budget carefully so we could have our dream cakes without breaking the bank.
BTW: Carla's tasting session will blow your mind. None of those tiny slivers of cake on paper plates here. Her servings are huge (she even gave us to-go boxes...heheh) and the tastings are served on beautiful marble slabs. Soo much attention to detail!

I was planning my wedding from outside of the Houston area, and had met my previous cake vendor during a wedding-planning visit. There was delay in getting paperwork, and eventually they upped the quote from to $1,000 which was a bit too much for my budget. 2 months before the wedding (eek... a bit last minute!), I stumbled upon Carla's page and fell in love with her simple & natural art of cake decoration. We went with her out of this world chocolate cake with an almond buttercream frosting and oreo with vanilla buttercream filling. The way she lets you mix and match flavors to find something unique to your palate is refreshing and appreciated. Carla was so hands on from the start of my first email to her: beautiful presentations during the tastings, helpful and extremely communicative during the contract process of any questions I had, and accepted my cake toppers & stands a few days before the wedding. Literally, she was everything.
Not only were the cakes perfect in tasting (marble cake + Trader Joe's cookie butter + chocolate ganache = PURE GOLD. You're welcome.), she is a game winner at her business and should be recognized as a huge game player in the cake industry in Houston.
