Whisper Hollow Homestead is not a typical barn venue - our size and beauty are unmatched!
We are a one-of-a-kind facility located less than an hour north of Pittsburgh in the quaint country setting of Enon Valley, Pa.
Constructed in 2017 by a small group of local Amish builders, the rustic barn offers a very spacious 6,000 square feet of entertaining space that can comfortably seat 300 people.
The breathtaking views of the sprawling, scenic countryside offer endless photo opportunities for couples to capture the magic of their special day.

can think of! Besides that, it’s purely breathtaking. I knew Whisper Hollow was the venue for me because once I saw it from the road I started crying. Everyone affiliated with the venue is very kind and helpful. I toured the venue in the winter, so nothing was bloomed up, pond was covered in snow, but I saw the vision - and the day of the wedding it wears breathtaking. Shirley and Rich also added benches to the ceremony area which really enhanced the look of everything. These people made sure our day was perfect. Contrary to the one bad review, I’m HAPPY Shirley and Rich are so involved. They are there to help you! 10/10 recommend this venue to everyone. It will forever be our recommendation to anyone who wants a barn wedding. Thank YOU so much!

edding, they were always available if we needed them but never interfered otherwise. The venue itself is beautiful and many of our guests complimented on how perfect it was. It comfortably held the amount of people we needed. We used several of the recommended vendors for our wedding and everything went smoothly. Beautiful venue, gorgeous sunset and helpful staff.

eddings we have been to, we have never experienced the owners being so visible and present throughout the entire day. I had several guests ask me after the wedding why everyone was “being watched” so closely. Rich and Shirley stood off to the side of the dance floor like hall monitor at a middle school dance. It was embarrassing. My bridal party hair and make up ran over a bit and Shirley came in to see what was happening. I mentioned I thought we were like 20 min or so from being done. Next thing I know, Shirley took it upon herself to start MY wedding without my go ahead. I was getting my veil and blusher on as I was being hurried out the door to walk down the aisle. I never got to experience time with my bridal party to just take it all in. I didn’t see everyone all lined up or have a minute with my mom before the ceremony. Shirley ruined that for me. Also, as we were finishing pictures Shirley was trying to rush everyone to line up for the grand entrance. We were not even finished with pictures and I didn’t even have my dress bustled. I had to yell up to her that I wasn’t ready. She made things so incredibly stressful for me. I also found out after the wedding that both Shirley and Rich ate dinners and the help they had at the venue also ate our food. We did not pay for any of them because, again, we were not expecting the owners of a venue that we paid a lot of money to, to be including themselves and their employees as guests at our wedding. We think this is so unprofessional and rude. The owners decided to cut some of our guests off at the bar and then had Ray the bartender shut the bar down early. This was so uncalled for. It’s a wedding, of course people are going to let loose and have fun. No one was doing anything wrong and again, if we weren’t being watched like hawks none of this would have happened. They wouldn’t even let my 74 year old father in law have a drink. It was so ridiculous the way that our guests were treated and we were very angry and embarrassed. Ray even called us the next day to apologize, even though it was out of his hands. If we would have known Rich and Shirley were going to be like this we would have never ever booked this venue. I am sharing this review to warn others about them. I did not hire a wedding planner, I hired a venue. Shirley is NOT a wedding planner but she certainly likes to pretend she is. She will try and control every part of the day. They will act like hall monitors and be present throughout the entire day/night. They will include themselves as guests at your wedding. They also will shut down the DJ and cut all the lights on at 10pm on the dot because of you aren’t out of there with all of your things by 11, look out. We are focusing on the beautiful day we had and our ceremony and friends and family that made everything so wonderful for us. Rich and Shirley tarnished a lot for us that day and it is our hope this review will be helpful for those looking for a venue in the future. As for us, we have all of the happy memories from our wedding day that we are cherishing and going to blot out all of the negativity. Cheers to all the newlyweds!

After nearly 150 weddings at our venue, this is the first review we’ve received that expressed displeasure with the assistance we offer to our couples.
To address your comments:
*As venue facilitators, our job includes being ‘visible and present’ on wedding days. If questions, concerns or issues arise at any point during your event (as they did), we are there to assist in finding a resolution. We were not ‘watching’ your guests; we were simply observing your event as part of our job.
*Assisting with your ceremony is also an aspect of our job that you expressed appreciation for from the very beginning (via text even before contract signing). You also very clearly stated during your rehearsal that your ceremony ‘will start on time.’ Effort was repeatedly made to make that happen FOR YOU; ruining any aspect of your day was NEVER the intent.
*Several people made multiple attempts to gather your bridal party for the grand entrance; direct contact by us was not made with YOU.
*It is the industry standard that a meal is provided for all wedding vendors (including venue staff). You did NOT pay for our meals and we did not include ourselves as guests; we sat at the vendor table (which you knew would be set up) with other vendors. This is in no way unprofessional nor rude.
*A few of your guests were cut off from alcohol late in the evening. If a person appears visibly intoxicated, it is against the law to serve them. This is not our policy, it is the law. And no one (including parents) can be served once the bar is closed. The apology was made to your father-in-law for not being able to be served after the bar was closed. You did not speak with Ray the next day and an apology was not given for something that we allegedly did.
*We inform all couples who tour our venue that we are ‘present owners.’ We informed you from the very beginning of the booking process that if you are on site, then so are we. As facilitators, it is our job to help our couples and their guests.
*Shirley is not a wedding planner and does not claim to be. Yet she never hesitated to answer every call, text and email in a very timely and professional manner. You wanted and repeatedly asked for assistance with your event and assistance was given.
*Yes, music must be off by 10 pm and lights come on at 10 pm; our done-and-out time is 11 pm. You were informed about these times during your tour, at contract signing, during your additional visits and in a text.

ble to text them from the moment we booked & always had an immediate answer to every question we asked! Our day was supposed to be clear skies & right before we went down the aisle it started to downpour. Shirley and Rich consistently watched the radar & helped us make a decision! They were more than happy to let us delay our ceremony an hour to keep it outdoors! We ended up having the most beautiful ceremony with a gorgeous sunset! i cannot thank them enough for everything they did for us. They even let us come back to the ceremony for more wedding pictures considering our time the day of was very limited due to the rain. I would recommended them over and over again. They truly want the best for their brides and grooms and you can tell that the moment you talk to them! They are truly a unique venue in that aspect that distinguishes them from the rest! Not to mention the gorgeous venues inside and out of the barn! Every time we have been to the barn the sky has always portrayed a beautiful sunset surrounding the barn & the lake-truly picture perfect! ce breathtaking, it’s also super affordable. Rich and Shirley help you every step of the way, from having pre-selected caterers, exclusive bartenders, and a whole list of recommended vendors! Shirley also helps coordinate with vendors the day of, making your wedding day as a bride completely stress free. All of our guests were from out of state and were impressed with the venue and decorations, making the day truly special.

and beyond the BEST people to have in your corner preparing for and on your wedding day. They take great pride in their gorgeous venue, and take an incredible amount of time and planning to make sure it is immaculate for your day, and they are such a well-oiled machine. They were so helpful through the process, Shirley is very responsive with any questions, and they were an absolute dream to have as part of our “team” day-of, keeping everything in order and organized. It truly felt like they became a part of our family during all that is wedding chaos. They definitely have preferred caterers and DJs, among other vendors - LISTEN TO THEM, lol. We got SO many complements on our wedding and we give a lot of credit to Rich and Shirley. We wish we could do it all over again we loved it so much!! The venue was beautiful and a perfect location for pictures all around the barn with lots of scenery, especially with the sun setting over the pond. We would highly recommend getting married here if you are looking for a very nice rustic wedding.

The owners were not only incredibly kind, but also reassuring throughout the entire journey. They took the time to listen to our vision for the big day and offered valuable insights and suggestions that showed their deep expertise and preparation. Throughout the planning process, Shirley promptly answered our questions and offered solutions to any concerns that arose. It was clear they had thought about every detail, which was incredibly reassuring for us.
The venue itself was absolutely beautiful! The barn exudes rustic charm while also being incredibly well-maintained and versatile. The attention to detail in the decor and layout made it clear that Rich and Shirley truly cared about creating a magical atmosphere for weddings.
On our wedding day, there were naturally some hiccups due to weather but Shirley and Richard were extremely flexible. The owners and their team ensured that every aspect was executed perfectly, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy the celebration with our loved ones. It was truly a magical day, and we owe a huge part of that to the wonderful venue owners.
If you're looking for a wedding venue with owners who genuinely care, who are prepared down to the last detail, and who will make you feel reassured throughout the entire process, this is the place to go. Our heartfelt thanks go out to them for making our special day an unforgettable experience. We wholeheartedly recommend Whisper Hollow Homestead!

I wasn’t sure how it was going to work or what it was going to look like, but they helped to figure out a way to get down the aisle, take pictures, and have a sparkler send off- despite my injury and lots of rain the day of! They also had a brand new dance floor installed a few weeks before that was absolutely perfect for all the dancing festivities! Their support and help throughout the wedding planning process was unmatched. They were there to help the whole night and we are so glad we chose Whisper Hollow Homestead!
