If you're looking for a venue that feels intimate, well-supported, and truly one-of-a-kind, we can't recommend this place enough. It was a magical experience, and we’ll cherish it forever! One recommendation is to invest in a great photographer that can appreciate nature!

We had plenty of time to set up decor the day before as well as have the rehearsal dinner there that evening. Bear was out of town for a family gathering on our wedding weekend but he made sure all tables and chairs were set up for us. He had a trusted family friend running the venue that weekend and he took great care of us and helped with whatever we needed. The bridesmaids stayed in the chalet the night before and then on the wedding night my husband and I stayed. Chalet is very cozy, clean, extra linens and towels, and has a little kitchen we made breakfast in. Property has a getting ready suite, which was great for the girls, and a den above for the guys. Lots of different spots for great photos! Reception space had great lighting and windows with a lovelyview, also big barn doors we used to have a dessert truck pull up to. We had our ceremony in the corridor of trees and I swear it felt like I was in a fairytale crossing the bridge to meet my groom at the altar! We had our wedding here August 2023 and it was the most wonderful, magical day! If you’re thinking of having your wedding here, do it!!

day. We visited multiple times to get measurements and take inventory of the reception area. They are very flexible! We held our rehearsal, ceremony and reception all on the property. We unfortunately had a rainy forecast the morning of the wedding and Bear was able to make my wish come true for an outdoor ceremony by setting up the chairs and altar last minute when it cleared up. It was also in a spot he never held it before! Their property is so beautiful with several spots to take photos & even areas to play yard games/relax outside. They also have a get ready suite which was very helpful with an early start for hair and make up. Very thankful for the flexibility and wonderful property to help us throw a great wedding. We couldn’t have had the wedding we did without them, it was the perfect day.

There were countless backdrops for wedding party and family pictures, and simply spending the weekend on the property added to the magic of wedding time! Bear was extremely accommodating and warm from the start and allowed us to visit the property many times for planning purposes. Throughout the entire weekend of the wedding itself, Bear, Kimber, and the team were present to help us with the set up and tear-down, and made sure that we had everything that we needed in order for the event to run smoothly. I can not say enough how much we appreciate the dedication of the team at Whispering Woods, and we (and our wedding party) simply enjoyed their presence, as well! You will not find a better, more gorgeous venue, or better people to work with. We were also able to bring in our own vendors, and decorate to our hearts’ content, which allowed us to create the day and weekend of our dreams, truly. Whispering Woods is a gem in every way, and we are so thankful to have found the venue and to have crossed paths with Bear and Kimber!

e it. I went back a second time with my mom and sister, and decided we had to book. The property is 40 acres and feels as if someone plucked it from northern WI and dropped it in northern IL. There is the venue building itself which is big and rustic, and a blank slate for whatever you dream up. They also have a ‘get-ready’ building the girls (downstairs) and guys (upstairs) which was perfect for us. And lastly, they have this absolutely charming cabin you can rent, and we used it Saturday for a backdrop of me getting into my dress, and we stayed there Saturday night (super comfy bed!) They only rent the property out for one event per weekend, which meant I was able to be part of the entire process – getting everything set up, and decorated just how I wanted it – and it’s very private with just your guests for the entire weekend. Working with Whispering Woods was exactly what I wanted. Bear and Kimber (and Bear’s brother – although I didn’t catch his name) are such friendly, genuine people, and are willing to work with you on whatever you need or want. They were there from setup on Friday, to takedown on late Saturday night. They offer their advice on what’s worked for past events, but let you make the decision on how you want things to go. I received SO MANY compliments on the venue – people asking me “how I found this place?!” and commenting on the beauty of the property (it really is breathtakingly peaceful). I even received comments on Bear – everyone was saying how friendly he was, and they really enjoyed his company. It’s so hard to put how much this venue meant to me in to a review, but here are the highlights that made our experience with Bear and WW over the top: - They let us come out as much as we needed to, to show the property and plan. We also did our engagement photos here, and they were AMAZING. - They have a fully stocked decorations closet at your disposal. We did all our centerpieces with décor they had on-site. They even have table numbers if you want them! - As it got dark on our wedding day, they brought out tiki-torches that really set an ambiance to the property. They also spray for bugs and for how wooded the property is, there was not one mosquito. - They help with the setup process, even unloading all the beer/drinks we brought, which made it that much easier. - They are such friendly nice people – we were there on a random day planning our centerpieces, and my niece was getting fussy and Bear offered to take her while we finished up. It was adorable haha. - Sunday morning, Bear stopped in at the cabin, told us how he thought everyone had a great time, and handed us back our security deposit right there. He has such a ‘friend’ feeling like you’ve known him for years. If you’re considering booking Whispering Woods for your big day – please do it. I promise you won’t regret it!!

Bear and Kimber did such an amazing job setting up and taking down for our wedding. They made it so easy and stress free (which is huge!!) They also have an entire walk in closet of all sorts of decor you are able to use. Not to mention, you get the ENTIRE place from Friday morning to Sunday morning! The Whispering Woods team is nothing short of amazing and so kind it made having our wedding here a no brainer. They answered all of my silly questions and let me come out to the venue as many times as I needed before the big day. Please have your wedding here, you won't regret it and you don't have to worry about having to use preferred vendors- bring whoever you want!!

s which was okay with me! I was happy that we not only had a place for the rehearsal but also the wedding ceremony and reception! The owner and his wife were absolutely amazing and so helpful!! They helped clean up at the end of the night which helped so much the next day! Which they also helped with too. He set up a fire for us in their Chalet for the night of and it was amazing. They have this closet full of decorations left from previous weddings which save us money and looked so good! Not only that they give left over food to their chickens and some times left over beverages to little league teams and long term care facilities. 10/10 RECOMMENDING!

getting ready in the dressing room cabin- it was stocked with stuff and our hair/makeup artists loved all the room and mirrors. We were a very laid back couple, so we loved that with booking our date, we were able to have access to the venue for the whole weekend to make the set-up and tear down process way less stressful. Plus, Bear and his wife were SO helpful during everything, but especially during our tear-down process; we were so impressed that we were able to load all of our stuff up in about 10 minutes! I would recommend them to anyone, we got so many compliments!

ns. We were able to reserve the venue the whole weekend which provided a sense of security and relaxation when setting up and rehearsing. The day of went so smooth! They worked hard to make sure all desires were met prior to the wedding and helped guide traffic as guests arrived. The next morning, they were up and at it early! They had all of our decorations taken down and cleaned up. It made the next day much more relaxing! Our day was absolutely perfect and the venue made for a beautiful backdrop resulting in beautiful pictures. Thank you Bear and Kimber for an unforgettable day. We plan to return for a weekend stay on our anniversary❤️

1. We knew we wanted an outdoor light and airy feel and this place is the only place we considered because it was perfect. Truly a fairytale. Bear, the owner, is not only professional but is personable and kind, answered all of my questions and let me visit a few times before our wedding. Bear and his wife, Kimber could not have been more accommodating, they were there the whole day to make sure that everything ran smoothly. The venue itself barely needs any decor at all. They have a closet full of decor that you are free to borrow and use for your wedding so the DIY aspect is amazing. There truly is not a single negative thing I can say about this place and although there are a couple of things I wish I could change about the day, the location is NOT one of them. I will be back every year just to visit :)

t this venue offers. I am writing this review the day after my wedding because I wanted to share my amazing experience as soon as possible. Let’s start with the physical space. The venue offers three large, picturesque ponds that provide some great fishing for anyone who would like to. The ceremony space is a lovely clearing in the woods that offers light filtered through mature pine trees. It was gorgeous! There are a total of three buildings available to us during our weekend: the reception venue, the building to get ready in, and the chalet. I stayed in the chalet that Whispering Woods offers the night before the wedding. My bridal party loved being able to spend the night in such a comfortable cabin, and it was plenty big enough to fit everyone. We even decided to get ready and take pictures in this building. The groom’s party got ready in the main preparation building that WW offers. There was plenty of space and great lighting. The reception hall is stunning! The large windows let in some beautiful light and scenery. They also had a plethora of decorations that I was able to use, which meant that I didn’t have to buy as much. It all came together to create a romantic, relaxed vibe. The best part is that Bear and his wife handled all of the cleanup. All I had to do was grab the decorations and leftovers that I wanted to keep. I loved it! As far as customer service, I am so grateful for Bear and his wife. Not only were they both available via email, text, and phone during the year and a half leading up to the wedding, but they were also completely hands-on during our big weekend. Our hotel room was unexpectedly canceled without our knowledge on the morning of our wedding (Yes, that really happened.), and the groom and I were able to stay in the chalet with no notice to Bear or his wife. They even made sure we had fresh bedding, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. They treated us like family, not clients that were simply booked at their property. I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Whispering Woods. Visit this venue and see the beauty for yourself!

there if you needed anything. The views on this property are perfect and we got married by one of the ponds. Everyone loved the property and kept asking how we found such a perfect venue! Throughout our planning process, Bear was responsive, helpful, and wonderful to work with! We utilized all aspects of this venue: cabin, reception hall, and bridal suite/man cave. Everything was so clean and ready to go when we got there. Bear helped us with setting up tables and Kimber assisted with clean up which overall made everything easier! When you rent Whispering Woods, you get the venue for the weekend which makes everything way less stressful. You are able to come and set up on Friday and then clean up on Sunday. With this, you are truly able to enjoy your special day. Our day went exceptionally perfect and we have Whispering Woods to thank for that! I would recommend Whispering Woods any day of the week and if I could give them more than 5 stars, I would!

I stayed the week of the wedding in the cabin and was able to start setting up early and explore the property. We were able to do fireworks and it was the perfect space for friends with kids to come, bring bikes, golf carts, etc. to have fun the day of. I am so happy we chose Whispering Woods. all, so I highly recommend taking an in person tour. Our wedding was months ago and I still continue receiving compliments on the venue and am always getting asked how we discovered it. It is truly a hidden treasure. You are given the entire weekend for your wedding to set up, rehearse, clean, etc. I loved this because you have so much time to get things ready and the venue is just dedicated to you for that weekend. One of the owners, Bear, was with us the entire weekend assisting in all that we needed. He gave suggestions, helped clean, set up all the tables and chair and SO much more. My favorite thing about whispering woods was that since you are really just paying for the use of property, you have free range to do anything you want. There are so packages and such that you have to choose from. We did all our own decor and there is even a closet FULL of decor that we had access to use. Oh, and wait until you see the bar. It is gorgeous! We could not have chosen a more perfect place to have our wedding. If you are thinking of booking, do it!

let us select our own vendors, they were SUPER CHILL the whole way through. They answered about 100 emails of mine. They let us come by several times before the event. And on the day of, it was raining, they let us make the call very late in the day to move the ceremony location. They let us pick different chairs for the event than they usually use. They are there on the day of the event as well, but they are never in the way and are just there to make the magic happen behind the scenes. They also take any leftover items from weddings and donate flowers to old folks homes, supplies to schools, and feed farm animals with leftover food. OVERALL SPECTACULAR HUMAN BEINGS to be around you on your wedding day. <3 2. The location is SO BEAUTIFUL, it's a photographer and videographers heaven! Water ways, bridges, willow trees, cool buildings, great views! 3. There is a chalet where you can stay overnight and get ready. 4. There is a separate cabin to get ready in with a full powder room with lights, mirrors, fridge, table, dressing room...the whole nine. They missed no details. It is absolutely perfect and where my bridal party and I got ready. 5. The supply room. THIS IS MAGICAL and saves SO MUCH MONEY! There is an entire room available to you for your full use and it is FULL of decor, supplies, vases, candles, lanterns, signage, stands, table numbers, etc. I barely had to spend any money on decor because they had it all there. This is a wedding planner's dream! Overall, this venue is an absolute dream come true. We are so lucky to have had our big day here. I hope more people find out about this gem and have the same blessing in their life.
