The bridal suite was spacious, with plenty of seating, a fridge, and a bathroom, which made getting ready very comfortable. The groom’s area was much smaller and more basic, but it did include a cooler for drinks. The barn itself was set up beautifully, and overall the venue was well maintained and picturesque. There were some challenges worth noting. The vendor list felt limited, with most options costing several thousand dollars for even small to mid-size guest counts. Holly is flexible and helpful in trying to match vendors to your style, but I wish there had been more affordable choices. We also ran into an issue with sweet tea—our caterer provided it, but Holly required that she pour it herself at an additional charge, which felt unnecessary. Around the piano area, there were noticeable ant mounds. Because pesticides aren’t used (due to the chickens), this created some concerns during the ceremony. While carpets were suggested, they weren’t a perfect solution, and we feel a better long-term fix would help future couples. Speaking of chickens, they’re no longer roaming the property during events due to complaints, which was a little disappointing since it was part of the charm we loved when booking. Lastly, one of the biggest reasons we chose Whistler’s Knoll was the flowers, but unfortunately during our date, they hadn’t bloomed yet. It may have been due to late planting or timing, but it was a letdown since the gardens were a huge selling point for us. All that said, Holly is very accommodating and communicates well, and the venue itself is truly beautiful. If you’re considering Whistler’s Knoll, it’s a gorgeous setting with many wonderful features, just be aware of some of the limitations we experienced.
