While we had more of an abstract idea of the colors, flowers, and general theme of our wedding, Shelby really took our vision and ran with it while offering plenty of opportunities for feedback and tweaks. She was very professional, treated us and our families with respect, and was always very clear and concise with her communication. Whenever we had a question or moment of panic, Shelby was always a quick text message or phone call away with an answer or calming reassurance. I would definitely recommend utilizing her for both planning and florals, not only because her choices of color and flowers are absolutely fabulous, but because of her ability to bring a wedding vision to life. We are so glad we connected with Shelby and without a doubt would recommend her to any couple looking for a wedding planner and florist.

I recognized a few couples on the White Cat Weddings website, had even attended one of the weddings, and instantly knew we would be in good hands. That being said, even my high expectations were beyond exceeded. (We didn’t actually choose the original venue but were thankful they led us to WCW.) Shelby not only made our vision a reality, she exponentially improved it. She was able to create a cohesive design across multiple venues. And not only were the florals (OMG I cannot even tell you how many compliments we are STILL getting on the florals WCW did) and design cohesive, but the flow of the entire wedding day was. Throughout the planning process, any time I came to Shelby with a problem, she had already solved it or had a solution. She kept me on task, let us be as involved (or uninvolved) as we wanted, and somehow made the stressful task of planning a wedding incredibly fun. She gave us honest opinions and brought to the table an experienced professional knowledge of how to make our day amazing as well as a rolodex (figurative) of other consummate professionals within the industry. The team of vendors she helped curate were incredible, kind, talented people that we were honored to have as part of our celebration. Beyond all of this, myself, my husband, our friends and family did nothing but celebrate our love and marriage our entire wedding day because Shelby and the WCW team had literally everything else handled. We have gotten countless compliments from the attendees about every aspect of the day. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that was actually OUR wedding. I really cannot recommend Shelby and her team enough and can never thank them enough for making our wedding day so incredibly perfect.

She was always positive but at the same time kept it real with us when we needed it. She also was able to make my flower dreams come true! Shelby was communicative, timely, and personable. Let’s talk about her florals. We also had her design and create all of our florals including centerpieces and a ceremony arch. When Shelby and I discussed my bouquet, I was, I’m positive, the worst bride ever. I gave her very little direction or idea of what I wanted. I didn’t have a clear vision and did not have a specific picture to mock. I had a color scheme I was sure of and reviewed photos of her previous designs and picked out what I liked and what I didn’t like. She created the most beautiful bouquets for my bridesmaids and I. She far exceeded any expectation I could’ve imagined. The compliments I’ve received on my bouquet solidified just how perfect it really was. Additionally, Shelby recommended a photographer for us and Kelli Lynn Photography was a perfect to fit our photography needs. She also helped us identify vendors we thought we could skip out on, like a DJ. After much discussion, we decided to book a DJ and couldn’t be more thankful for the insight Shelby provided us as to why it was important to keep our night flowing. She was absolutely right and we were not a single bit disappointed. We cannot say enough good things about Shelby and the services she and her team provides at White Cat. 10/10 would recommend.

the deal!! I was the *most* indecisive bride and was immediately overwhelmed by the wedding planning process. I hired Shelby for all of her services because I NEEDED them all, and I can honestly say it was the best money I spent on the entire wedding — not exaggerating. I never felt pressured by her to do things one way or another, which I really appreciated. Like most brides, I received a lot of unsolicited advice and opinions from others, but Shelby is whatever *you* need her to be— a sounding board, a facilitator, or, if you’re like me and need this, she can be the decision-maker, too!! I didn’t start with a “vision” for my wedding, so I leaned on Shelby considerably for her input. She has an eye for elegance and style and she knocked everything out of the park! I can’t even take credit for many of the little special details on my wedding day because Shelby thought of and executed it all!! Shelby helped me through every decision, considered every single detail, and was conscious of my budget every step of the way. I’m typically a procrastinator, so the detailed timeline she established kept me on track and accountable for getting things done. I can’t begin to tell you how essential this is when trying to nail down multiple vendors/contracts/payments in a timely manner. She was very patient with me! Perhaps Shelby’s most valuable asset is her “know-how” in the Central KY wedding industry. I had no idea how to parse down the endless list of local/regional wedding vendors, but Shelby has first-hand knowledge and established relationships with seemingly EVERYONE you’d want to know about. Furthermore, every vendor I talked to was genuinely excited to learn that I was one of “Shelby’s brides”— and those *weren’t* just vendors from her preferred list! She is highly regarded in the local wedding scene, which gave me so much confidence leading up to my wedding. It’s hard to put a price on peace-of-mind, and I can honestly say I was cool as cucumber in the weeks leading up to the big day because I knew Shelby had it under control. Finally, this part of the review may be 2020/2021-specific, but Shelby was a lifesaver when the unthinkable happened and we were forced to postpone our wedding by a full year. Shelby was the first person to honestly tell me that a 2020 wedding could no longer happen. Of course that was hard to hear, but she went above and beyond to be a great source of comfort and support during that time. I think her insistence to reschedule early is what allowed me to keep all of my vendors and in my preferred date range. Of course we know now that it ended up being the RIGHT (and only!) decision. I honestly can’t imagine how we would have pulled it off without Shelby. I can confidently say that if/when any crisis comes up in your wedding planning (hopefully not another global pandemic for the future bride reading this!), you will be so glad you have Shelby on your team and managing your wedding affairs. In summary, Shelby’s services were ESSENTIAL for this indecisive, hands-off bride. But I would argue that she would be equally important for the very decisive, hands-on bride, too! Her practical knowledge of the Lexington wedding scene is unmatched and I know she can execute any wedding vision you may have!

every detail was just the way I wanted it to be. On the day of, she handled everything to make sure I was able to have a relaxing, fun, carefree day. And let me tell you, My jaw DROPPED when I walked into the space for the reception. My flowers were on another level as well. I had a specific color palette and a few blooms I knew I had to have, and Shelby executed it perfectly in my bouquet. I received so many compliments during my wedding on how unique and stunning the combinations were. Also, Shelby is an absolute JOY to work with and hang out with. Hire her immediately, believe me :)

Shelby has a true knack for creating beautiful event spaces, as well as creating amazing floral arrangements. I was confident that she would be able to bring my wedding vision to a reality. She designed a beautiful wedding ceremony space, as well as reception, and I received so many compliments from my guests on how beautiful the evening was, and I know Shelby played a vital role in that. In addition to design, Shelby is extremely talented at creating beautiful flower arrangements. After going over what I had in mind for my bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, centerpieces, etc., Shelby sent me a PDF that included a visual representation of what the arrangements would look like. On my wedding day I was surprised to discover that they were prettier than I ever imagined. My bridal bouquet had cascading greenery that was truly a show stopper and it looked amazing in all of my wedding photos. Shelby is truly an asset worth investing in if you need someone who can offer design advice/suggestions, vendor suggestions, floral suggestions, and guidance along the wedding planning journey. She is easy to communicate with and makes the wedding planning process less stressful as a bride.

We could not give up the bouquets, so we are getting them preserved and, to add, the individual flowers Shelby chose were so unique and beautiful that we picked about 30 buds to preserve and resin! r. We hired Shelby to take on the wedding planning about 6 weeks our from our event, and she was on top of every detail from the get go. She helped coordinate all of our vendors, our timelines, and floorplans. She was super helpful the week of our wedding when our rehearsal dinner was cancelled and rescheduled to a different venue last minute. She ran a smooth walkthrough with our giant bridal party, and made sure we were in great shape for the bid day. Shelby was ready to roll on wedding day, and did not stand still for longer than 5 seconds. She went above and beyond with helping to set up our event and worked closely with all of our vendors. Can I just mention our napkins were not sent with all other rentals, and DAY OF wedding, between Shelby and our videographer, our napkins were delivered - via Uber from Lexington to Bowling Green. Shelby spent 3 nights in Bowling Green preparing for our day. My mom and I still today say "we couldn't have done it without her." Shelby made our entire wedding planning process smooth and fun! She was trustworthy and found every way to make our wedding day perfect. Because of Shelby, September 21st, 2019 was the most stress-free day.
