Our only suggestions for venue improvements are the following:
We lost 17 guests the weekend of our Fall wedding due to a combination of a hurricane and Covid. Once our down payment was made, there was no chance of reimbursement yet there was also no plan to wrap the unused food/beverage or donate to a local shelter. I appreciate the concern for food safety, but I feel like that is something they could approach differently.
Also, for any of you who are not used to paying sums greater than $5,000.00 on your debit card, please check with your bank to see if they have transaction limits. It was nerve-wracking the week before our wedding to get a call saying that the payment didn't go through when there was plenty of money in our account to cover the costs. If that happens, ask them to charge in lower amounts. For instance, our $8,000. 00 bill needed to be broken in two $4,000. 00 payments. I hope this helps future couples and I wish you all the happiness in your wedding plans.

When we started looking at venues in Delaware all of them had different qualities that we liked but Steven's organization and style is what made us choose White Clay Creek for our wedding. When we had to push our wedding back a year due to Covid-19 Steven was very understanding and gave us the same pricing even though our wedding was a week closer to the peak season time. During the time that we were waiting to have our wedding White Clay had stopped partnering with the florist that we chosen so they gave us a credit on our invoice for the cost of the flowers. You really can't beat their deals and everything included in your wedding package makes putting your big day together so much easier.

nquet person stating my 50% deposit was due when we hadn't even seen the new menu, pricing or talked with anyone about what we wanted.
Everything was better than we had planned the night of our wedding. We dropped all of our boxes off ahead of time and the only things that weren't set up how we wanted were in a different, BETTER, location. It looked awesome.
It was also helpful that it was "all inclusive" we enjoyed working with Alexis at Petal Pushers and Dana at Desserts by Dana.
Let's start with the good:

- the bridal suite is a great size! Big enough for a 16 person wedding party, two sets of parents, the minister, and cocktail hour
- the location made a great place to take pictures!
- this venue is all-inclusive which makes planning a lot easier than a DIY place
As far as the not so good...
- Steve, the wedding coordinator, is wonderful to work with IN PERSON. If you're trying to contact him, or anyone on his team, either by phone and especially by email, good luck getting a response earlier than 2 weeks. He makes a habit of saying he's overworked and understaffed and crazy busy, but to me that's not an excuse, especially when that excuse has apparently been used for 5 years. Hire someone to help. If you can't respond to an email in a timely manner, take the 2 seconds and at least respond that you've received it and you'll respond accordingly. I thought that this unresponsiveness would change as our date got closer, but it didn't which can be super stressful when you're not sure what is going on.
- they have one tasting event per year, so hopefully if you book here you'll actually be able to go. We were lucky, though we were told the whole menu was going to be changed.... Okay... So we tried the new menu items, falling in love with the beef tenderloin because there was so much garlic! Well, turns out the new menu never even came to fruition. So we chose from the old and "new" menu, the tenderloin being one of our options. That was not served at our wedding. We got a beef tenderloin but with a brown gravy instead of what we were expecting. Everyone loved it, which was great, but not what we wanted.
Overall, the day ended up being a great time for everyone, but the lead up could have been handled a WHOLE lot better. I feel as if I am a pretty laid back person, but even this was too much stress for absolutely no reason.

When I first selected this venue for my reception, my mother could not stand the carpet. She talked on an on about the carpet and how it didn't compliment my wedding colors. I, on the other hand, had so many event-related questions and strongly desired to pay for my reception on a monthly basis. (I literally dropped money off every month to go toward my reception from the time we booked the venue until about 2 months before our wedding.)
Steve was unphased by all of this. He answered every call, addressed every concern, sat with me in meeting after meeting, and always had someone on call to accept my payment no matter when or how I wanted to make it. I truly believe that Steve handled my event like he would have a close relative, making sure everything was taken care of, providing thorough instructions, and offering invaluable ideas that made my event special.
When it came time for my reception, Steve made sure all the golf carts were lined up and ready so that we could take some pictures on the golf course. This was a special treat for my bridal party who had never been on a golf course, let alone inside a golf cart. The ballroom looked amazing and was set up beyond my standards. The bar worked fast to keep the drinks flowing for my guests. The food came out in a timely manner and was delicious.
Though weeks after my wedding, I still have engaged family members coming up to me inquiring if I could plan their wedding. As much as I would love to take all the credit for that special day I will remember for the rest of my life, I must give credit where it is due. Steve and his staff at WCCCC bought my vision to life.
Also, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that my mother strongly approves this message. (The carpet complimented our reception well.)

outside terrace and the chef's ability to create a Caribbean Soul menu ... we served guests oxtail, baked macaroni and cheese, collard greens, cornbread, maple glazed salmon. Everyone RAVED about our food and our friends loved the use of the outside terrace that we turning into a cigar/hookah lounge. Steven was kind enough to pack my husband and I a hearty to-go platter of food to enjoy back at the hotel and arranged for a personal limo to take us across the street. He's very knowledgeable about the industry and has an array of contacts to help get the extra things you may want like personalized cookies, audio/video, uplighting, backdrops, etc.
Our only issue is that we had an open bar for the bridal party, but my husband was denied the opportunity to drink topshelf and some of the decorations we left with the venue to set up (gold frames and personalized quotes for the table) never made it.

for cake, linens and centerpieces, and the most accommodating staff I have yet to work with. The only reason I gave them 4 stars versus 5 was in terms of initial communications. Initially, my then fiance and I were told to pick a day and we could sample 5-6 meal options, when in reality, we had to come 5-6 times to sample whatever the wedding that day was serving. Thus, you can't sample something unless someone else is having it within the tasting time frame. Also, initially we were told the cake, linens, and centerpieces were included. Take this with a grain of salt! You only have allowances for these items, and you have to shell out far beyond those allowances to have these items look better than a dollar store wedding ensemble, in my opinion. In fact, the cake people told us that we couldn't get a cake without putting out more money. Other than these things, this facility was great! If nothing else, you HAVE to see the bar!

I loved riding the golf carts out to the bridge for pictures! All the guests commented on how beautiful the place was, and how great the food was :)
My two problems were that they didn't tell us the small tray of appetizers was all we got (as the wedding party) and they served the chicken cordon bleu sauce ON the chicken instead of off. A few people had to send their back due to mustard allergies.
