This review is written by a bride and her mother (who acted as wedding coordinator). White Glove Touch by Susan was the best thing that happened to us during this wedding experienc...e. Since we began our planning just six months before the date, and the dress was the foundation for our vision of the wedding day, we were heartened that Susan immediately got back to our inquiry. We had thought that we would interview several vendors, but the moment we met Susan, we knew she was the woman for the job. We wanted to refashion my old 1989 silk shantung wedding dress, which was too small for my daughter. This had been a long-held desire since my daughter was a child. We were very concerned as to whether the resizing could be accomplished, but Susan's expertise was apparent in our first meeting, and her obvious skill gave us confidence. She listened intently to my daughter's wishes and seemed committed to living up to her dream. At a few different fittings, she hand sewed right in front of us to offer my daughter glimpses of what would come. She removed sparkles, pearls, lace, sleeves, train, and toile. She completely remade the bodice and skirt, and transformed it back to a fresh, new quality. She guided us toward an original design that was prompted by several photographs. Susan used the train from the original dress to make a paneled, pearl edged bodice that was absolutely spectacular.
Susan's communication was prompt and consistent over the months leading up to the wedding day. On the actual day of the wedding, Susan arrive early and was right there in the bridal suite with my daughter, lacing her corset, placing her veil, assuring perfection. There were quite a few bumps leading up to the wedding day, but Susan was never involved in any of them. If you are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, vision, and immaculate execution, Susan is the woman for you.
