Hiring Daryl from White Mountains Wedding Photography as my daughter's photographer was a HUGE disappointment. Telephone communication and budget accommodations prior to the weddin...
g was good. That said, the day of the wedding, he arrived cranky and lethargic, complaining about how far he had to travel, even though he knew when we hired him where the venue was located. He needed urging to take some photos which I considered standard. For example, the wedding gown on a special hanger in the bridal suite and flower adorned ceremonial site prior to arrival of guests. He underutilized the beautiful venue. For example, there was only one picture taken on the gorgeous staircase inside the venue and only at my request, and there were two beautiful water fountains on the grounds that are not in any photos!! Almost every photo of the wedding party and the families was taken in front of the same trellis and they were all crooked. He failed to spread out the train of my daughter's gorgeous wedding gown so in many of the photos, it just puddled around her feet. Although we received enlargements and the thumb drive with all photos in a timely manner, getting the photo album was a different story. The wedding was in October of 2024, and we just received her album in May of 2026, after countless emails with Christine. Many times it felt like my daughter was getting the run around so I personally called Daryl and left messages. He never even returned my calls, even though he knew he had a disgruntled customer. I would NEVER recommend this photographer, and I hope this review will save other brides from this frustrating experience.

Daryl is good at communicating and doing a good job. He took great pictures of both candid and portraits and the venue. We hired him for 8 hours and it was very reasonably priced w...
ith a complimentary engagement shoot and all. He was kind to our guests and was willing to work with our requests. We would hire him again. We also got video coverage through his business and Ethan was great at communicating and working with our requests. 7 hours of videography.
As they say, you get what you pay for.. this is a long detailed review, but ultimately we would never hire Daryl again.
After our engagement shoot we decided to part ways with Da...
ryl and have hired another photographer for our wedding day. We met Daryl at a bridal expo and he was a little pushy, but I took that as confidence in his work and his abilities. In talking with him he kept saying he was the right photographer for us, but really he never got to know us. On our phone calls he said we were welcome to bring our dog to the engagement shoot, then when we arrived he barely wanted our dog involved- he kept saying put him back in the car. Daryl had us in the sun squinting and did not provide good cues except put our heads closer together and we looked very awkward. He would show us pictures during the shoot and we would say we didn't like them and he would just reshoot the same shot to the point it was not worth giving any feedback during the shoot. He did not try to get to know us or our story, he even called my fiancé the wrong name twice and brushed it off like oh well that was the other guy before you... we just felt like our entire engagement shoot was very transactional and he was trying to rush to give us a speech about the additional things we could buy from him (without transparent pricing). We lost our $600+ deposit because honestly, we did not feel comfortable with Daryl and the photos from our engagement shoot were not what we expected from someone who says they have been in the industry for 30 years. Sure eventually he "gave" us the rights to the only 5 pictures we liked of the 120 pictures he took. But this was not after much negotiating over overpriced not very good photos. He has restarted and rebranded from his CT wedding business, after looking at those reviews, I probably would not have hired him to begin with!
Daryl listened to my requests and completed them perfectly. Beautiful scenery in the white mountains made my winter wedding shots by Daryl amazing.

all the way through to after the wedding! He really did an excellent job of capturing the important moments from every angle! He was very casual and easy to work with, yet paid close attention to what was going on and didn't miss a thing! We threw some unexpected requests at him, and he capitalized on all of our crazy expectations!
Highly recommend Daryl! He showed up on time for our wedding, got incredible shots (and was efficient with this so we still had time to mingle with our guests and play our outdoor ...
games during cocktail hour!) and was super communicative during the whole process and planning stages. If you’re looking for a photographer who is focused on capturing the natural beauty of your special day, don’t think twice! He’s the best
Daryl was a great photographer! We got some lovely shots and he made us feel so comfortable. We feel so lucky to have these phots forever!

aphy. We had a few phone conversations before our wedding, and Daryl was easy to connect with immediately. On our wedding day, Daryl's calm, relaxed, and professional demeanor was excellent, as we both were experiencing pre-wedding nerves. Our wedding was a festival wedding on a large property with art installations and a lot of ground to cover, which Daryl was able to capture working independently. We also hired the videographer and the photo booth, which were fantastic.
The photos Daryl has sent us thus far are beautiful, and we are delighted with each shot we have seen.
We are looking forward to doing a portrait session with Daryl in the fall in the White Mountains.
Thank you, Daryl, for capturing our Wedstock Wedding. We enjoyed working with you!
Daryl is a kind, professional, and extremely affordable photographer option! He takes nice, classic shots, and gets all the important moments. He was also happy to do any different...
shots/poses we wanted, not that we had many ideas, but I am sure he would do as many as you would like, and if you have lots of ideas for different shots you would like to do, I think he would be a great option for you! And if you are just kind of simple and go with the flow like my husband and I, he is a good option for you too :) Daryl was very easy to work with, pleasant, and detail-oriented. We had our pictures back within a few weeks, and his affordability allowed us to have a videographer as well for the same price it would've cost us to have just a photographer if we went with any of the other photographers we inquired with.
Daryl was great! The day of the wedding he helped to keep the schedule moving according to plan and made sure to get all the requested photos done. During the planning process he m...

Daryl and his team allowed us to relive our wedding day over and over again. Not only were they great to work with, but the turnaround time on my GORGEOUS photos was unbelievable. ...
Daryl met with us several times throughout the planning process to find the package that would best suit what my husband and I were looking for. As the wedding got closer we decided to enhance our package by adding videography and it was the best decision we made. Daryl worked with our budget and was wonderful in communicating with us. If you are looking for someone who can tailor a package to what you want on your special day, look no further! I highly recommend Daryl and his team to help make your wedding day perfect!

. On the day of the wedding, the photographer was super friendly and got there early and met up with us much earlier than we expected which we really appreciated!
We received our flash drive with all the pictures in just about a month after the ceremony which I was very impressed by. The photos turned out great and we could not be happier with our experience. I would highly recommend White Mountain Photography for anyone getting married in that region. They really captured the beauty of New Hampshire in photos we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

right times leading to our big day and when our day finally arrived he NAILED IT!!! Daryl was extremely professional and showed us photos along the way. He even left the venue with us so that we could capture photos at this beautiful historic chapel we wanted to have. This gave us a better knowledge of his talent and what quality we can expect from him for our engagement photos and for our upcoming wedding day. I am looking forward to our wedding day photos, I'm sure they will be creative and stunning!! Pricing was great as well as the package deals. Daryl is committed to making your photos special! f at White Mountain Wedding Photography was fun and the communication was very easy. Our photographer made sure to capture all of the photo combinations we requested and she captured many wonderful candid shots :) Many of the candids are our favorites. Our videographer captured the ceremony and start of the reception beautifully. He coordinated with the DJ independently to capture crystal clear sound. From start to finish, the staff at White Mountains Wedding Photography are flexible, reliable, fun, creative, responsive, and extremely easy to work with. We appreciate them so much!! We cannot recommend White Mountains Wedding Photography highly enough!! :)
Daryl was great. He helped keep everything on schedule and ensured I got all the photos we discussed. My husband and I highly recommend him!

roughout the sitting, Daryl shared photos with us so that we could get a better sense of our preferences for the wedding itself. The turn around from photo session to receiving our engagement photos was also quick and easy, and we were very happy with how the photographs turned out. When selecting photos that we wished to purchase, Daryl was flexible with pricing and options. I would highly recommend Daryl of White Mountain Wedding Photography to any bride!
Daryl did a terrific job. He was perfect for the occasion. The pictures turned out amazing. Couldn’t have asked for a better photographer.

ne, email, and text to guide us through booking our wedding and engagement photos. Day of the photo shoot he eased my anxieties about possible inclement weather and greeted us with a smile at his lovely home. He took us to several phenomenal locations on and around his property with beautiful views. During the shoot he showed us some great shots he captured along the way and gave us great direction on the best poses. He was encouraging, relaxed, and professional from start to finish. My fiancé and I do not usually like getting our photos taken but can honestly say that we enjoyed the experience thoroughly. He captured that wonderfully in the pictures with many of us candidly smiling or laughing. We can’t wait to see him work his magic at the wedding!
Our engagement, family & ceremony photos are wonderful and we will cherish these for a long time.
This photographer is difficult to communicate with. My husband and I both emaile...
d them during the planning process and they never used “reply all.” It added annoying and unnecessary steps for us to get the information and plan.
They assume the bride & groom know what to expect for portraits. This is both of ours only marriage, so we needed more guidance from the “expert” we hired. When I asked, multiple times, what to expect the day of the wedding, they replied multiple times that I could assume they would get all standard shots. Even when asking clarifying questions, they would not elaborate. However, they didn’t even get them all. He never got my husband’s face during the first look. This was important to us and we can never get this back.
The candid (cocktail hour & dancing) photos also leave a lot to be desired. Our wedding was so fun, but you cannot tell from the professional photos.
My fiance and I travel every year to the North Conway area and this year we were looking to get our engagement photos taken during the fall foliage. I found White Mountain Wedding ...
Photography through social media and contacted Daryl Hawk. He was very quick to respond and flexible with our time of the photo session as we were traveling from out of state. He was great to work with and was open to taking any new photo ideas that we came up with. I would recommend him to anyone looking for professional photos.

vision for our wedding day. My fiancé and I had our engagement sitting last weekend with Daryl. It was everything we could have hoped for and the photos look amazing! Daryl walked us through the process ahead of time so we knew what to expect and how to prepare. The sitting was great - we felt so comfortable and it was completely hassle-free! We will be using White Mountains for our wedding next summer and cannot wait for those pictures!

My fiance and I used White Mountain Photography for our engagement photos and we are so happy we did! My fiance can be camera shy and doesn’t often like many pictures of himself. ...
Leading up to our engagement sitting he kept saying “I hope I like at least one photo.” After our engagement sitting he felt confident and excited about the pictures that were taken. ALL of our pictures were beautiful! We loved every picture, they were amazing! Daryl has been organized since our first conversation. He has been flexible and understanding of our my fiance and I's crazy schedules. He communicates very well and efficiently responds to any questions. He has been so helpful answering our questions and working with us to find packages that best suit us. As we get closer to our wedding day and nerves surface, there is one thing that we do not need to be nervous about…our photos! We know that we will have the most amazing photos that capture us as a couple and tell our story! I would highly recommend Daryl at White Mountain Photography.

tes/times with photo sessions. He communicated clearly with my husband and I for what wedding packages would work best for our needs, and always took the initiative to follow up with us about reminders, or confirming details of our photography needs. He included an engagement session with us as part of booking too!
When the actual day of the wedding arrived, he was on-site early, checked in regularly with me for the kinds of shots I wants as my bridal party and I were getting ready, and was very patient while we pushed to get photo-ready. Throughout the evening, he checked in regularly to make sure he was getting candid photos of everyone on our list.
Finally, he touched base the following day to thank my husband and I for working with him for our wedding. I really liked how he went the extra mile to check in with us at each step of the planning and celebration process, including follow-up after the event.
I would hire him again for any future events I have!
If you are looking for an affordable, professional wedding photographer then look no further. Daryl captured my wedding day in hundreds of beautiful photographs.

was easy to agree upon a contract with him. He met all expectations and more throughout our engagement shoot and the day of our wedding. We had a really rowdy bunch and he just embraced it and let us naturally be in our element. His videographer was also INCREDIBLE. He even danced with us which was awesome. The photos themselves have been so great and Daryl made me actually like pictures of myself. He gave my husband and I our most treasured photos and we will be forever grateful. Thank you, Daryl.
