edding in 2022, but after that day I knew that when I got married, Stephen was who I wanted capturing it. Not only is he EXCEPTIONAL at what he does, but he is also kind, funny, and wonderful to have with you throughout the day. He captured every single shot I wanted (following my extremely long and detailed list), made sure we stuck to the timeline, but also kept things calm and easygoing on a very long and busy day. His communication was amazing from start to finish, and while we have only gotten the preview thus far, i am already ECSTATIC with the results. Truly could not recommend him more. 100000/10 photographer and person.

at Stephen is like: during our engagement photo session, Stephen effortlessly slipped into joking with us about Canada geese, Back Bay, and the groom's lack of coordination. During the actual wedding, Stephen gracefully helped with scheduling adjustments when one of the bridesmaids had to deal with a fussy toddler. We found working with him to be more akin to working with an old friend than a formal vendor. All this is to say, Stephen was an absolute delight, and he turned out beautiful photos, though working with him was relaxed, goofy, and anything but stuffy. (As an aside, DEFINITELY use the Zebra Booth! We were hesitant to include it, but so many of our guests mentioned they loved it, we're glad we did.)

was the first time we had professional photos taken of us as a couple and Stephen made us feel so comfortable. He talked us through everything and the pictures came out amazing! Stephen has a very artistic approach and did a great job capturing everyone’s emotions throughout the night at our wedding. He blended in with the surroundings yet was able to take the most beautiful photos of all the important moments of our night. That being said he also made a point to check in with us periodically to be sure that he captured all the photos we were hoping for. Our sneak peeks and wedding album came so quickly and the photos were just magical. We are so lucky to have the prettiest pictures to look back on forever! Stephen is a great guy, a consummate professional and we can’t recommend him enough!

I am not someone who loves pictures of myself taken and I don’t like how I look in photos but I LOVE the first shots I have seen. I know there are companies that you can save by booking with a company and then they subcontract. Keep in mind you will be spending some of the most meaningful moments of your life with them and the love of your life. You want to be around someone kind, calm, thorough, and just all around awesome. We got a second shooter which was also a great decision. I skipped the cost of engagement photos because while I really wanted them capturing the wedding day and the wedding guests was the most important. The second shooter was able to be with the groomsmen while they put their suits on. Do not skip on his zebra booth! I thought that we would want funny props or the printing of pics and I was wrong! The guests loved the zebra booth! The ring light on it takes great pics and people can post them to their IG very easily. My only regret of the five star review is not being able to give him 10 stars, he is the best!!!!!

thout a wedding planner, we really wanted a photographer that was going to guide us through the day and help to shape our timeline. Stephen embraced this charm and took advantage of all the amazing spaces and lighting the venue offered. He also made sure every element of the photo was perfect, my dress, veil, train. It was also amazing to have Stephen photograph our engagement shoot and be at our welcome party the night before the wedding! It really made us and our bridal party feel so comfortable for the next day. Stephen has great connections with others in the Boston wedding industry too and he helped us find almost all of our other incredible vendors! Additionally, we had a few very stressful and unexpected moments throughout the wedding day, but through it all Stephen was a calming presence and it brought us so much comfort having a familiar and friendly face behind the camera. We were so glad we had the opportunity t get to know him better during our engagement shoot. He is so easygoing and we connected with him right away. You would never know we are both a bit camera shy and awkward in from of the camera because Stephen also had us laughing and made us feel like we could act natural without overthinking anything. husband) and I were very nervous at our engagement shoot, as we had never had professional pictures done before.. and we had our daughter with us for some of the photos as well which puts a whole different spin on things. When we met Stephen he made us feel so comfortable and we had great conversation throughout the whole shoot it was more like hanging out with a friend than being told to "pose like this and smile". He had our daughter smiling, running around, making silly faces and laughing (all things kids love to do). By the end of the shoot I felt so comfortable and was BEYOND excited to work with Stephen on our wedding day. Fast forward to October 1st, our wedding date. We were not able to get to our venue until 5pm and the wedding ceremony started at 6pm. Stephen called a few days prior and said he had no problem meeting prior to have some formals done with our families, my father and I doing our "first look" as well as my husband and I. He met me at my parents house, came inside and took some photos of us getting ready to do the first look with my dad. (It was the best idea having pictures taken in my childhood home and that all came from Stephen's brilliantly creative mind). My dad and I did our first look outside the front stairs and we all cried! Happy tears of course! Then we made our way down to a beautiful field in Sterling (where we had our engagement shoot months prior) and Ben stood in the field as I walked up to him and Stephen and his second photographer captured all the emotions that come with that moment. Then it was off to the venue! As soon as we got there Stephen grabbed us and took us all around the property to get all the pictures possible prior to the ceremony.. ceremony happened, we're married! Stephen, Ben and I run up the hill to go across the street to get the sunset picture that is well known at Harrington Farm. While everyone was at cocktail hour we had a "private first dance" and Stephen utilized the candles in the room to make for an amazingly romantic imagery. Throughout the whole reception Stephen and his second photographer caught candids of all of our loved ones (which are my personal favorites) as well as any little picture Ben and I thought of after the fact Stephen was right there to get it done for us. He stayed until the very end to catch our "send off" of LED balloons and at the end I just had to give him the biggest hug as he really made the day so amazing with his excitement for getting all of the right pictures we had thought about for so many months leading up to our big day. I will call Stephen for any professional pictures I need going forward, I HIGHLY recommend his talents to anyone looking for any type of photography. It's not easy standing on the flash end of the camera but with Stephen, you never feel an ounce of awkwardness! I could not be more thankful for his beautiful artistry!

We had our engagement shoot a few short months before the wedding and Stephen gave us the space to get comfortable in front of the camera and identify the types of shots we wanted on our wedding day so we felt prepared and excited. We opted for small, family-only wedding parties, and wanted the morning to feel as relaxed as possible in the midst of two hurricanes and a global pandemic. Stephen was truly up for anything - even when I asked that we all spontaneously hop on an empty water taxi for a quick spin around the harbor before the reception. Creatively, we have come away with both beautiful portraits but also an amazing mix of reception photos that capture the personalities of our family and friends, and the true joy we felt that day. It has been a nearly impossible task to narrow down for our wedding albums - a lucky problem to have!

o know the couples he works with. He does an engagement shoot with every wedding package so that he can meet the couple beforehand. We absolutely loved our engagement pictures and Stephen made the whole experience so comfortable. He is really easygoing and calm and a great presence to have around. We just got our wedding gallery back (such a quick turnaround - and Stephen had already sent us around 50 sneak peeks just days after the wedding!) and we are so happy. When we were talking to photographers, we expressed that we did not want to do a first look but that we wanted to get some photos together outside before it got dark. With a December wedding this was a challenge. Multiple photographers said they could not do it but Stephen said he could. The outdoor photos that we got are truly incredible and Stephen got some insane sunset shots as well! And the photos inside are just as amazing. Stephen is really an expert with lighting. More importantly, Stephen captured the joy of the day and everyone looks so natural. For example, the photos Stephen took of the wedding party are so cute - they don't look awkward or staged at all (which, in my opinion, those often do!). We have received so many compliments from family and friends on the photos. In addition to the pictures themselves, Stephen was super professional to work with, always responsive, energetic, and helpful. My mom said, "I love how easy he made it. It never felt like getting the pictures was in the way of the party." Stephen truly loves his job and his joy is infectious. When he was taking our wedding photos, he kept saying "I'm just so happy right now!" It is awesome to be surrounded by that energy on your wedding day! We would recommend Stephen to everyone and would love to work with him again in the future.

When we got to meet Stephen through Zoom my husband and I both agreed that he would not only do a great job capturing the love and happiness we share, but also be an awesome person to hangout with on the most important day of our lives. We weren’t able to do an engagement session with him, but got to meet in person a year before our wedding and scope out picture locations. Our first impressions from Zoom were absolutely correct. Stephen was professional, talented, and friendly. We knew he would get along great with our family and friends. Throughout our engagement Stephen was communicative and helpful with all things photo and even recommended other vendors. He is someone whose opinion we trust and would go to him for his thoughts and ideas, such as “What is it like when the bride walks down the aisle alone?“ On the day of our wedding Stephen arrived and got right to work! He stayed out of the way of hair and makeup, capturing detail shots while we finished final touches. During such a chaotic morning this was majorly appreciated. I truly believe that the wedding party fed off of his calm and supportive mood making the afternoon a breeze. The additional treats that Whiting Photography offers, such as the heirloom albums and The Zebra Booth are really what set him apart from other photographers. Being able to get the photo booth pictures the same night as our wedding was great. It gave us something to look at the next day and our guests loved it! They also commented on how much they loved Stephen, but duh. Not even two days later Stephen sent us a HUGE sneak peek which had us in tears. The love, light & romance we hired Stephen for was absolutely captured and then some. We cannot wait to get together to create our album, and hopefully schedule family shoots in the future.

We didn't end up moving forward as we found another photography team that fit our needs a bit better, but if you're looking for a photographer that will literally become a part of your day through and through, there is nobody better than Stephen.

In the end, we had the perfect day, and Stephen was able to capture the emotion of every moment in his pictures. The photos blew us away, and our family and friends are still talking about how amazing he was 8 weeks later, especially his unique and creative ideas to give us more than just traditional wedding photos. Since our wedding, we've had family & friends asking for his contact information so he can also work his magic during their events. Stephen's pictures are amazing, but it was equally notable that he was truly a part of the intimate group present at our wedding. Everyone felt like they got to know him, and he was very attentive to the details of the day, and accommodating to all our guests' requests. We are planning to throw a future wedding reception and will definitely be coordinating with Stephen's schedule to make sure he can help capture that the fun and exciting emotions of that event as well! person. As the bride I had very little knowledge of weddings and what happens behind the scenes in planning one and Stephen was always an email or phone call away. Even when something unrelated to the photos came up he was happy to answer any questions I had. He truly felt like a friend only a few short months after meeting him, and many months before the wedding even happened! Something that really stood out for my husband and I was how aware he was of all of the surroundings. At one point during the reception it began to rain slightly outside and he found us on the dance floor to see if we wanted to take a rain photo on the outdoor patio by the fireplace. We were thrilled to and when we got outside Stephen magically produced a clear umbrella for the picture. It is easily one of our favorite shots and is still on our venue's website a year later. Another moment I'll never forget is when the early bus left for the hotel before the end of the wedding. My husband and I ran out last minute to say goodbye to both of our grandmothers and some other of our older relatives. And as we were on the bus giving hugs and kisses we noticed Stephen was right there one the bus to capture those moments!! Amazing, I know. He's right in the mix without you ever even really noticing!! I swear he has a sixth sense about where everyone is and what's happening throughout the wedding! I have received endless compliments on the photos from our wedding. They are absolutely gorgeous! Stephen has a way of capturing the moment that I had never experienced before. I am not one to pose for pictures, choosing instead to let the moment happen, and he was more than capable of catching each moment and freezing it in time for us. I've had many friends who were at the wedding,and some who were not but saw the photos, ask for Stephen's information for their own weddings because they were just so impressed. I am forever grateful to have found Stephen Whiting and to have gotten the opportunity to work with Whiting Photography and cannot wait until my twins are born so he can take our family pictures! (Yes we are now pregnant with twin girls a year after the wedding). He is most definitely our forever photographer!! Thank you for everything Stephen!!

right then that I really wanted and liked the candid style of a lot of his photographs. I do not like being the center of attention so having less posed pictures and more of everyone enjoying themselves was something that that appealed to me. One of my favorite pictures from the day was a candid he snapped of my dad handing me over to my husband, my inlaws are in the background and everyone is smiling and it just captures our emotions and feelings at that moment- it is priceless. We did engagement pictures with Stephen as well and he met us in the woods where we had gotten engaged. We both felt comfortable from the moment we started working with him as he is very down to earth and personable. He kept us both talking and smiling the whole time and we got some great pictures. When it came to the planning Stephen had us make a list of photos we wanted and he made sure that we got everything imaginable. He also was super helpful in planning our timeline of our day and finding out what was important to us. Stephen is a seasoned wedding veteran and knows the ins and outs and the best way to go about making your day wonderful. I really wanted sunset pictures and sunset fell during our ceremony but Stephen worked to find the best spot for us to take them at following the ceremony and some of my favorite pictures from the day are those. His 2nd shooter was also great and snapped some great pictures of my husband getting ready! Everyone told me how much they loved Stephen and that he wasn’t in everyone's faces to get posed pictures and forcing anyone to do anything. He is very approachable and it made it very easy when guests wanted a picture he was willing to take anything anyone wanted. When picking a photographer it can be very stressful as it is an important decision as these pictures are what you will use to look back on this day. There are also so many photographers out there and the decision can be daunting but I can tell you we made the right decision!! We have over 900 BEAUTIFUL pictures to look back on and a wonderful photo album that we will cherish forever!!
