The vendors she recommends are not only high quality, but the best people to work with. Everyone she recommended exceeded our expectations. Having worked with local vendors for so long, she has an amazing relationship with them and we could feel how smoothly everything ran with Whitney at the helm. She's extremely kind and confident, and was up front with us about everything from budget to realistic limitations in our venue. But every time we hit a road block, she came up with alternatives that worked out even better than the original! I have always dreamed about my wedding dress, not my wedding, just the dress. With that being said, I had absolutely no idea where to start when it came to wedding planning. When my husband and I got engaged in October of 2017 we decided that we were going to enjoy our engagement and not even think about wedding planning until 2018. When we started making calls to venues in January 2018 we were basically laughed at for thinking that we would be able to pull together a wedding by summer 2018.
Those venues had clearly not met Whitney Nelson.
On February 25, 2018 I sent Whitney an email after drooling all over her Instagram account, the subject of that email read “HELP, Summer 2018 Wedding”. Whitney responded in less than 24 hours! Who even does that anymore?! Already we were impressed. In her response she not only confirmed that she was available for the date that we were hoping for, but she reassured us that she could make our summer wedding a reality. Her confidence was exactly what our flipflopping selves needed.
Our initial call with Whitney was frantic, disorganized and basically just me brain dumping on Whitney all of the crazy ideas we had for our wedding. To be honest we were surprised Whitney did not turn us away. She listened closely and by the end of the call she was able to repeat back to me a full list of action items. When we got off of the call with her it felt as if a huge weight was taken off of our shoulders. We now had an actual professional who was going to make sure our wedding was perfect for us, with all of the personality and unique touches that we were hoping for. I came to learn that this was one of the many things I would appreciate about Whitney, she was always open to listening. Whitney was officially our wedding planner and we were going to be married on August 11, 2018!
Fast forward 6 months, 6 million phone calls/text messages/emails, we had the wedding of our dreams.
Design: Whitney can do it all, she has the vision and loves unique. When I told her all of the things I “didn’t want”, she understood and offered other creative suggestions.
Tracking: Whitney made sure that all of our vendors were organized, paid for on time, and that we were getting the best bang for our buck. Whitney has an incredible network of stellar vendors in all price ranges, all who clearly love working with her. It was SO nice to have Whitney to take on all of the footwork with these vendors so that we could just focus on the fun stuff! I didn’t have to send any more “are you available?” emails. HUGE relief.
Day of: On my wedding day, the question I was asked the most was “how are you so calm??” My answer every single time would be, I have Whitney. I worked a full-time job up until the Thursday of my wedding weekend. No one at my company understood this. They shared stories of all of the last-minute things they had to do for their own weddings, and all of the stress they had been under, I had none of that.

We were flooded by compliments from our guests on the weddings decor, flow, and vibe -- all thank you to Whitney. We had our wedding party on 5/12/18 @Vine Hill House in Sebastopol with a guest count of 80. Whitney is organized, creative, and just an absolute blast to work with. From finding the perfect place setting decor or fun accents on Etsy, Whitney's creative flair brought my boho, whimsical day to life. She is also very loved in the Sonoma area. Everything I mentioned to a vendor that Whitney was at the helm, they were beyond complimentary and so very excited to work with her again. Although I didn't articulate exactly I wanted well, Whitney had this miraculous way of taking the dream day I had in my head and bringing it to reality on May 12th. s and a drum set for music, plus a party the night before in town to welcome all the guests. Whitney handled our demanding and intensive planning (and personalities) incredibly well. Our venue didn’t provide anything, so we had tons of vendors, whom Whitney coordinated and organized flawlessly. Everything at our wedding was extremely customized, which is a lot of work, but Whitney was very on top of it and never missed a beat, plus she has awesome vendor-partners (EV Floral!!).
On top of all of that, our entirely outdoor, fairly spread out wedding was crashed by what seemed like FEET of rain all the way up until an hour before the ceremony. We had to completely change our rental order, table set up, dance floor, ceremony, stage for the band AND kitchen area for the caterers the week of the wedding. I cannot express my gratitude for Whitney in that chaos. She literally just handled it, we told her our thoughts and she manifested it all – under the most giant tent I have ever seen! There are so many things she took care of, some I probably still have no idea about, but we had a beautiful and lovely wedding that everyone enjoyed. I would absolutely, 100% recommend Whitney to any and all Brides!!

She attended appointments with us and helped us articulate our vision to vendors; she was mindful of our budget, made sure not to exceed it, and even helped us to save money in many areas; she took us shopping at Bloomingdale's, Macy's, and Costco to pick out groomsmen/groom attire and beverages; and she coordinated the day of with ease and efficiency (or at least she made it look easy). oordinators online. I was impressed by her portfolio and her price range was well within the budget we were considering. In fact, she was charging much less than a variety of other month-of-coordinators, so I decided to meet with Whitney to see if she would be a good fit. After we had our consultation, I realized that I had found the perfect person to help us ensure our wedding was as perfect as possible.
Whitney embodies a great balance of professionalism, ease, and candidness that made her a great person to work with and allowed me to trust her to take over the big day when it eventually came. A few months before the wedding, we did a walk-through of our venue so that we could discuss where and how things should be setup for the wedding day. Whitney mentioned a variety of details that I had not even thought about, so she took care of those items for us. In addition, if I threw out an idea that she didn't think was suitable or she knew of a better option, Whitney ensured to let me in a tactful way without any insult.
She helped us draft a timeline for the wedding day that included every single component, vendor, and time. She also helped me figure out the floor plan, so all I had to do was provide feedback and input.
The wedding day itself ran so flawlessly and turned out so gorgeous. I collaborated with Whitney frequently during the month before our wedding so I was confident that Whitney had an accurate vision of the wedding we had been planning for and that she would execute everything perfectly. Whitney even added some personal touches to some of the tables and decor that made everything look even better.
Like every wedding, there were some unexpected occurrences that Whitney took care of without having to involve us. My husband and I had decided to have no young children at our wedding, and despite various conversations with his family, they decided to bring along their young children to our wedding. In fact, Jason and I walked by the family and their kids after we had finished our pictures, and we didn't even have to bother with the issue. Whitney was right there with them and she figured out a way to integrate them since they had already arrived. In addition, the salads came out a little later than scheduled, so Whitney suggested starting speeches a little earlier in order to keep things moving so we wouldn't fall too behind on schedule.
Whitney literally took care of everything for the day so that I did not have to worry at all about the day. It was such a relief to feel 100% confident in Whitney to execute everything I had planned over the past year and to be able to fully enjoy our wedding day from start to finish. I have no idea how brides do it without a coordinator when you have to spend the entire morning getting ready.

this advice was. I cannot imagine my big day without the help of Whitney Nelson, especially since I was planning the wedding from 500 miles away. Besides being there the day of, Whitney gave me unlimited email and phone access for questions, as well as walking the site a week prior and attending the rehearsal. She is helpful, supportive and professional. I didn't have to worry about a single thing on the big day, everything flowed perfectly; Whitney and her assistant took charge of every detail exactly to my wishes.
