About this vendor
Whole Heart Video is a Chicago-rooted wedding studio built on one belief: films should make you feel something. Every wedding we capture begins with an emotional connection — understanding your story, your families, and the quiet moments that matter just as much as the big ones. We create family-centered, warm-hearted films that honor where you come from and celebrate the love you’re building together.
Our style blends documentary/ storytelling and upbeat editing, allowing us to craft wedding films that feel authentic, intentional, and alive. Rather than staging every moment, we favor an unobtrusive approach that keeps the focus on you and your loved ones. During your ceremony, we would NEVER park ourselves in front of the first three rows. We move quietly, observe closely, and let natural interactions guide the film. The result is a wedding day that never feels interrupted, and a finished film that feels like you.
Warm color, true-to-life skin tones, and crisp, natural audio define our visual language. We prioritize narrative pacing — the rhythm of emotions, the rise and fall of the day, the meaningful conversations, and the subtle details that often go unnoticed. Every film is edited with care and intention to create a story arc that draws you in and stays with you long after the credits roll.
Whole Heart Video specializes in high-end weddings throughout Chicago and the Midwest, as well as destination celebrations for couples who value sincerity over spectacle. Whether we’re documenting a black-tie event in the heart of downtown or an intimate gathering surrounded by family, our focus is always the same: honoring the people, the legacy, and the memories that make your wedding uniquely yours.
If you’re looking for a wedding film that feels deeply personal — one that captures real dynamics, real laughter, real joy, and the emotional moments your family will treasure for generations — we’d be honored to tell your story with our whole heart.

We had the pleasure of working with Ben from Whole Heart Video! Ben was a wonderful addition to our wedding team. He collaborated seamlessly with our wedding planner and photograph...
er to make sure the timeline flowed smoothly and everyone had what they needed. Before the wedding, he also offered thoughtful ideas for capturing additional footage that we hadn’t even considered.
Now that our footage is here, we are so incredibly grateful. It’s such a special feeling to see our wedding memories reflected back to us and to be able to relive those moments all over again.
Our church also had quite a bit of echo, but you would never know it from the video—the audio is incredibly clear! That was especially important to us, and Ben did such a wonderful job capturing both the sights and sounds of the day.
We would absolutely recommend Ben and Whole Heart Video to anyone looking for a talented, thoughtful, and collaborative videographer!
All of our most magical moments were captured to perfection by our day of videographer, Joseph, and the video Ben created for us is something we will cherish forever. Ben was profe...
ssional and communicative from start to finish, seamlessly handing us off to our day of videographer, and Joseph listened intently during our intro call to get to know us and our story better. On our wedding day, Joseph was extremely easy going and allowed us to be fully present. He did not interrupt any moment to “pose” us perfectly, yet captured everything beautifully. The overlay of our vows and speeches on the video is something we were looking for in terms of style, and Ben blew us away with how well this was done. I also want to add that I appreciated how prompt Ben was to respond to my initial inquiry, as booking vendors is quite stressful and he provided all the necessary information right away. We cannot imagine not having our wedding video to look back on for the rest of our life. Stop your search, book Ben and his team - we HIGHLY recommend Whole Heart Video!
We highly recommend Whole Heart Video! From the very beginning, Ben Sloane was extremely communicative and made the entire process feel so easy and seamless.

y unique because it was a surprise engagement AND wedding, and they did such an incredible job capturing every single surprise, reaction, and emotional moment without giving anything away. Everything went so smoothly, which was so important with a day that had so many moving pieces and surprises!
Nikolai was INCREDIBLE on the day of our wedding. He made us feel completely comfortable, and honestly, most of the time we didn’t even realize the camera was there. He captured everything so naturally and beautifully.
When we received the footage, we were blown away by how clear, beautiful, and high-quality everything looked. More importantly, they truly captured the emotion of the day. Watching it back allowed us to relive all of those surprise moments and see reactions we didn’t even get to see ourselves that day.
They really listened to what we wanted and executed everything perfectly and professionally. Whole Heart Video was easily one of our favorite vendors, and we are so grateful we chose them to capture such a special and unforgettable day. We cannot recommend them enough!

upbeat vision for the highlight video and his packages were a great value to memorialize key moments from the day. We had a couple changes to make to our highlight video and he was easily able to swap them out for us. He also has a drone which was fun to have downtown Chicago shots. The audio for speeches and dances were very clear in the videos. He's also just a great dude to chat with, thanks Ben!
I have nothing but amazing things to say about Whole Heart Video. We had a quick turnaround for our small wedding at my parents' home in the suburbs and from start to finish they w...
orked with us to customize exactly what we needed. Their quote was reasonable, the videographer they sent us (Niko) was so professional and fun, and the video they shot (which I got back today) captured everything I would have wanted about our wedding. We even had to relocated inside due to sudden storms and they managed to capture the fun within the chaos of that moment. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a team that will customize with you to make sure you get what you want.

it didn’t even feel like the camera was there. The footage and camera quality is AMAZING, and it captured the emotion of our day so beautifully. They really listened to what we wanted, and executed it with professionalism. They were one of our favorite vendors on the day!
Whole heart videos did a great job recording our ceremony and reception in downtown Chicago. Ben was great to work with and very responsive, would highly recommend!!

k someone, Whole Heart Video was at the top of our list.
From our first call to wedding day, things were exactly what you hope for when in the chaos of wedding planning: simple, efficient, and you feel understood.
Once the wedding day arrived, as someone doing all the planning myself, it felt awesome to not have to micromanage Ben or Niko and to trust them to capture incredible moments in a style that truly reflected us. There was also a moment we had told Ben we wanted captured and he made sure to find us and make sure we got it, that meant the world to us!
I appreciate their approach because they make you feel completely comfortable, especially if you’re not someone who is used to being the center of attention.
Their communication, attitudes, and kindness are standout among the MANY reasons we would recommend them.
We haven’t even received our finished product yet, as we JUST got married last week, but I know it is going to be something we cherish for the rest of our lives and we feel such happiness that Ben & Niko captured our day!
We had the best day, and we’re so grateful to Rhett and the team for capturing it! One of the things we appreciated most was how natural everything felt. Rhett allowed us to be ful...
ly present and enjoy our wedding day without constantly stopping to stage moments or film anything that felt inauthentic.
We chose the raw footage package because I planned to do the editing myself, and the team was incredibly accommodating and supportive of that decision. They also delivered all of our footage within a week, which exceeded our expectations.
We’re so glad Rhett was part of our day and can’t wait to relive all of those memories through the footage for years to come!
Ben and his team are incredible! From the start they were extremely easy to work with, very communicative and on the day of brought such a infectious energy to the group. Ben was ...
able to turn not only our teaser video around but all of our content around so quickly! It has been so special being able to fully relive our entire day through these videos. We're so grateful for Ben and his team! I would choose Whole Heart Video over and over again!

post on social media, but to have real video we could look back on and watch years down the line to see our family celebrating together, to see us exchanging vows, etc. We got both! Some social media worthy videos, some longer videos just for us.
We filled out some forms so Ben could know what we were looking for. Then we also met via zoom/video ahead of time with our day of videographer, which was great so we could know the guy with the video camera all day/night and he could know us.
Our day of videographer captured it all AND worked well with our photographer. No one seemed to be in each other's way, and they seemed to communicate well to each capture great moments. Our final products were sent to us and were so good. Ben took care of little edits we wanted without hesitation.
All in all, great experience, great end product/videos, and I felt like we got our money's worth. Highly recommend Ben and Whole Heart Video!

ng, and wonderful to work with which eased our nerves going into/at the wedding. He brought great energy and was so fun to be around. We absolutely love our wedding videos and know we will cherish them for years to come! We got a highlight video, along with full ceremony and reception videos that included all speeches. They perfectly capture all the special moments from our day and we couldn't stop smiling watching them back! If you're getting married in Chicago, we cannot recommend them enough!

My husband and I could not recommend Ben and Whole Heart Video enough for your wedding day! We are so grateful we had booked him for our wedding and would encourage everyone to do ...
so for their wedding. From the moment we met Ben via email and video call, his energy was amazing. This energy of course was also present on the day and made the entire process of capturing the day a blast! We were so shocked how fast the day of the wedding goes by and then all of a sudden you blink and the day is over. We are so grateful to have the video of the day (getting ready, ceremony, and reception with cool added drone footage!) to relive the day for years to come. Before we met Ben, we were on the fence about whether or not we even wanted to do video for the wedding day. However, we cannot stress enough how thankful we are for Ben at Whole Heart Video and we couldn't be happier with the footage that captured such a memorable day. Our videos that we received are remarkable and the editing skills are very impressive. We truly loved working with Ben and the entire process was easy and fun! Thank you Ben!
Whole heart video was great to work with! We love how our video came out and are so glad we have this to remember our day forever! Thank you, Ben and the whole heart video team!

lent communicator and made every step of the process as smooth as it could have gone. He was thorough and fast on the editing, which allowed us to have our video returned ahead of the given timeframe to share with our families during the Holidays. It truly felt as though he made us a priority throughout the process.
Lee and Joe were professional, kind and easy going during the day of shooting. On what was an overwhelming day, they made everything feel easy and still exceeded every one of our expectations. I could not recommend Whole Heart Video any stronger to couples planning their weddings. P.S. the drone footage is well worth it for any outdoor venues. Thank you Ben, Lee, and Joe for an incredible experience.

decisions we’ve ever made! Ben took great care to get to know us as a couple and learn about what we like, how we interact, and what our families prioritize.
On our wedding day, he not only captured everything perfectly, but he also provided an energy spark that only he can. During our first look, his creative energy was so impactful. And during our reception, he was constantly finding us and energizing us and our guests. The final product is a showstopper — we (and our families) can’t stop watching it. Thank you!!!

Ben captured our wedding day beautifully, creating videos that we will cherish forever. The music and editing of the videos is amazing--we requested a more sentimental angle, and he definitely delivered, though he can also do fun, quirky, etc.-- and he is also quick to implement small changes if requested. On top of it all, his prices are reasonable for the Chicago area. I highly recommend Whole Heart Video for your wedding videography!
