EAUTIFUL flower garden and then we went to the reception room for dinner and to celebrate which was nice because our wedding was in the middle of July & they do have AC. The director of Wickham Park even helped us choose our catering!!! We are beyond grateful for the help we received for them & everyone at Wickham Park!! Having this app made it easier for my husband and I to keep track of our guests/guests count, and let us know how many days we had left!! It also provides you with ideas and checkpoints on where you "should" be in your wedding planning, and give you options for vendors for food, music, photography!!! They were flexible with us as far as when we were available to see the venue which was also so nice!! Big shoutout to them!!!

And let me tell you, once you meet the coordinator, Diana, you will never look back. She was the best at making sure everything went as planned. She made us feel seen, heard and a part of her family! is perfect for a ceremony as it is secluded by tall bushes, has a large open lawn, and a beautiful gazebo. The grounds of the entire park are impeccably maintained. It was an absolute pleasure working with Wickham Park, specifically Diana as she made the process very easy and was very responsive and helpful with any question. They set up the tent and number of chairs we needed. We highly recommend the space if you want an outdoor garden ceremony! Our guests LOVED the space and it was absolutely perfect for what we were envisioning for our ceremony!

I'm so happy that we've added another core memory of Wickham to the books. Diana Wheeler and the park staff made our wedding day truly special. (perk of using a public park). I was concerned considering it is a public park that we would have wedding crashers, but we had absolutely no issues! They set up signs ahead of time and clear out the area so it is nice and private for your special day. The views are beautiful the alter overlooks the Hartford skyline and when the sunsets in the distance its absolutely gorgeous. We had our wedding in mid May and the garden was in full bloom! The rustic cabin for dancing and tent for dining was a perfect touch that basically met all our needs. I also wanted to be near water, and Wickham park has a beautiful lake down by their other gardens so we took photos there too! The staff was also amazing. Diana was very professional and super responsive to all my questions (I sent many many emails). We had Dave and Meg as our park attendants, they were great. Dave even helped hold my vail so I could get a really nice photo with my vail blowing in the wind. When we wanted to take photos down by the lawn when the sun was setting he even offered to move anyone who was in the way of our photos to make sure we got the shots we wanted… although there was no one around really to worry about because of all the signs they place to try to remind people a wedding is going on and to be respectful. Over all I had a great experience. The price compared to other venues was really good, and because of that we got an event coordinator and a decorator but the area itself is so nice you really dont need much. The gardens are great for photos so we went early and took shots in some of the other gardens. My now husband and I went a couple of days prior to our wedding to scope out good spots for photos and we got some great shots that I am dying to put up in our home! Highly highly highly recommend this place!

at we might have missed on our own. We had our ceremony and reception at the Cabin, and it ended up down pouring that day, but the team moved the ceremony under the tent with ease and it ended up being perfect! We've been visiting Wickham for more than 10 years and it is a beautiful place!

The Emerald Room was the perfect reception place, offering ample space and a cozy atmosphere. Diana went above & beyond to make our special day really memorable. Diana recommended the catering vendor which was a great recommendation. Food, drink's, and catering staff was top notch. Thank you Diana for your time and dedication. We consider you as a close friend. I highly recommend Wickham park and ask for Diana. Im looking forward to working with Diana at Wickham Park again, knowing that any future event I plan will be amazing.

aking. The gardens are well maintained and entire park is extremely clean. I never thought I’d find a venue that captivated my style and was so affordable! Diana, the events manager sets you up for success and makes your wedding planning easier. Not only does she have a heart of gold but she responds to emails quickly and is on site to help things fall into place. Overall I cannot give this venue enough credit. Wickham park really made my special day magical.

The only drawback was the limited catering and bartending options that Wickham works with, though David Allen did a good job with both for a pretty good price after some haggling. I loved that this venue gave us calendars with pictures from all over the park and sent us a card after our ceremony! I definitely recommend this venue

dding the cost of the bathroom, the tent, the water and kitchen needs, the rental of chairs and tables and ceremony benches will add up quickly. At Wickham, that is all included! In addition to all that, the grounds are absolutely beautiful. No matter where you take a photo, there will always be a wonderful backdrop. Even on our overcast day, the city was barely visible through the fog, but the colors were amazing. And you have access to all the gardens, so our first look photos and any family photos we wanted outside of our venue space was available at no extra charge. You can't go wrong with this all in one setting. I am sure the guests enjoyed driving to one place and staying put for all the events of the big day. It was also easier for our shuttle to only have one pickup and drop off location. COMMUNICATION: Diana is just my favorite. She is an amazingly sweet person with a great sense of humor. She is personable and really wants to help you create the best day for you. She always responded quickly and with great detail. She organized the best day of coordinators and rangers and made sure your day would run smoothly. She really helped to make you feel ready and prepared for your day. DAY OF: Our coordinator day was Amy. She was so friendly and efficient. She was there to make sure we were hydrated and had everything we needed. She went above and beyond to make sure our day was set up just how we wanted it. I am sure she did a bunch more to make our day run smoothly that I did not see, but everything ran smoothly so I trust she was communicating with vendors as needed. She also was our time keeper, so she would keep us on schedule and gather us from our photoshoot when the next activity was about to start. I couldn't ask for a better day of coordinator. My only negative is that the AC broke just before the ceremony. I get hot really easily and this was not ideal. However, it was out of everyone's control in the moment and we still had a great day in a beautiful space with our favorite people. Despite the malfunctioning AC I would certainly return to this venue for another large event. Word to the BUDGETER: Although the venue may be in your budget, review the preferred vendors prior to signing with Wickham. I found them to be pricey and not a food truck option, but was able to make A Villa Louisa work within our budget. FUN FACT: You can't fly a drone over a state park. However if it is licensed and approved by the ranger you may be able to for your event. So don't be afraid to ask for details if you plan on having drone footage. BONUS INFO: This space is also very flat, so our several handicapped guests were able to navigate the ground relatively easily. One was in a wheelchair and was able to access all spaces for all parts of the day. Another NOTE: There is no bridal suite at the upper cabin venue, but there is one at the lower garden venue. We were in the cabin and just created a sign for the larger bathroom and made it our suite during the wedding, but didn't get ready there. The other bathroom we used as a handicap bathroom and the other guests had access to a bathroom outside of the cabin. OVERALL, Wickham park added to my day in a positive way and I would highly recommend them for any corporate events and most definitely weddings!

with any and all questions I had. The area that we rented for the two hours (again, ceremony only) was reserved and blocked off so others visiting the park would not enter the area. Not to mention the park was GORGEOUS. We thank everyone here at Wickham Park for making our special day even better!!

Hartford CT. The amenities are plentiful; easy set up for caterers, bartenders, DJ, MC, live band. Our Photographer and videographer loved the setting. Communication was prompt and the coordinator was very helpful!

ordinators; from scheduling a tour, saving our date, choosing vendors from an exclusive vendor list, to the midnight emails when I couldn't sleep and had a question. On the day of our wedding, there were 2 rangers that walked around and made sure everything was ok and kept the fire lit. They were absolutely fantastic. I wish I could do my wedding over only because it was perfect and the most fun I've had in a long time. Thank you Wickham Park for making our dream wedding come true!

he best part about this venue is that it offers a naturally beautiful backdrop for photos. We didn’t require a ton of decorations because the venue itself is gorgeous without it and our guests were excited to take photos because there was so much beauty around them. The Emerald Room is an excellent choice between the two options at Wickham Park because it has a bridal suite and updated bathrooms. As the bride, I was very comfortable that day because of the option to go into the bridal suite for privacy when I needed to change, use the restroom, take a moment, etc. Tips for those considering getting married here – look into the pricing of the caterers you’re able to work with in advance of signing your contract at the venue. We probably would have still chosen Wickham Park, but we were surprised by the cost of the caterers after already signing with Wickham. Secondly, think about rain plans. We were so lucky that it didn’t rain, but I was nervous about the weather because the rain plan wouldn’t have been great if the weather was bad. Third, have your photographer take photos towards the back of the gardens or behind The Emerald Room. We took photos basically at the entrance of the park and had lots of family and friends show up early and saw us taking pictures before the ceremony – as a bride on the shy side, I just wasn’t ready for an overflow of family in that moment. Lastly, get a firm understanding up front about what the venue staff are responsible for on the night of your wedding. I was under the impression that we would have no real help that day from the venue so I had a bunch of friends come early to help, but in reality the venue staff did a lot more for us than expected and it caused for some confusion with my friends. Overall, we loved getting married at Wickham Park and would absolutely recommend to any couple searching for a quaint, naturally beautiful venue to get married here. Thank you, Wickham Park team!

Our guests were oohing and ahhing about the beauty of the park, and everyone appreciated having the space. Wickham made my dream wedding come true! Sarah was super responsive and the park staff were friendly and accommodating. 10/10 would recommend!

and the tent and cabin were very clean. The ceremony space is stunning, with a view like no other! There was so much space for our guests to roam around, even with the periodic downpours! Sarah took over our event later in our planning period, but she was awesome and really went above and beyond. Sarah worked hard to make sure we had the most comfortable layout for our guests under the tent, and was there for anything we needed. She made sure to meet us in-person at our rehearsal, and even made it to our wedding, where she helped tremendously, watching the weather radar like a hawk to guarantee we would get to use the outdoor ceremony space, and she helped to get our giant bridal party down the aisle in an organized and presentable fashion! If you don't mind booking everything a-la-carte, we highly recommend Wickham Park! It was affordable, beautiful, and we are so happy it's where we chose to have our wedding.

y helpful and for that I’m forever grateful. Aside from this being our wedding I have never actually attended one so had no idea what I was in for. I thought it would be more difficult but the truth is the entire process was as smooth sailing.
