Wickham Park

We loved using Wickham Park for our July wedding. The gardens were lush, the ceremony space overlooks the beautiful skyline and the cabin was great for dancing!

Wickham Park was a dream! We booked the cabin at hilltop garden, and the view of the Hartford skyline combined with the fall foliage was magical. We worked with Diana throughout the planning process, and she was kind, patient, and enthusiastic about making our vision a reality. Our guests were gushing over the beautiful manicured garden, and the ambiance of the cabin interior once the reception started. I cannot recommend this venue enough!

THE DREAM WEDDING VENUE. My guests cannot stop talking about how beautiful the park and the emerald room was. The Emerald Room sits on the Irish Garden which was absolutely breathtaking. The gardens are well maintained and entire park is extremely clean. I never thought I’d find a venue that captivated my style and was so affordable! Diana, the events manager sets you up for success and makes your wedding planning easier. Not only does she have a heart of gold but she responds to emails quickly and is on site to help things fall into place. Overall I cannot give this venue enough credit. Wickham park really made my special day magical.

Wickham Park is an absolutely beautiful venue. My husband and I got married at the cabin in September and it was gorgeous. Diana was very friendly and helpful! You can’t deny how beautiful the park alone is, but the cabin ceremony site blew me away. Very special place!

Our wedding at Wickham was beautiful! So many locations for beautiful pictures, perfect for a small wedding. The guests loved the venue! Diana made the process so easy and took a lot of stress off of my husband and I. The only drawback was the limited catering and bartending options that Wickham works with, though David Allen did a good job with both for a pretty good price after some haggling. I loved that this venue gave us calendars with pictures from all over the park and sent us a card after our ceremony! I definitely recommend this venue

There are so many positive things to say about my experience with Wickham Park, it is hard to decide where to start. VENUE: The venue is beautiful. When planning your outdoor wedding the cost of the bathroom, the tent, the water and kitchen needs, the rental of chairs and tables and ceremony benches will add up quickly. At Wickham, that is all included! In addition to all that, the grounds are absolutely beautiful. No matter where you take a photo, there will always be a wonderful backdrop. Even on our overcast day, the city was barely visible through the fog, but the colors were amazing. And you have access to all the gardens, so our first look photos and any family photos we wanted outside of our venue space was available at no extra charge. You can't go wrong with this all in one setting. I am sure the guests enjoyed driving to one place and staying put for all the events of the big day. It was also easier for our shuttle to only have one pickup and drop off location. COMMUNICATION: Diana is just my favorite. She is an amazingly sweet person with a great sense of humor. She is personable and really wants to help you create the best day for you. She always responded quickly and with great detail. She organized the best day of coordinators and rangers and made sure your day would run smoothly. She really helped to make you feel ready and prepared for your day. DAY OF: Our coordinator day was Amy. She was so friendly and efficient. She was there to make sure we were hydrated and had everything we needed. She went above and beyond to make sure our day was set up just how we wanted it. I am sure she did a bunch more to make our day run smoothly that I did not see, but everything ran smoothly so I trust she was communicating with vendors as needed. She also was our time keeper, so she would keep us on schedule and gather us from our photoshoot when the next activity was about to start. I couldn't ask for a better day of coordinator. My only negative is that the AC broke just before the ceremony. I get hot really easily and this was not ideal. However, it was out of everyone's control in the moment and we still had a great day in a beautiful space with our favorite people. Despite the malfunctioning AC I would certainly return to this venue for another large event. Word to the BUDGETER: Although the venue may be in your budget, review the preferred vendors prior to signing with Wickham. I found them to be pricey and not a food truck option, but was able to make A Villa Louisa work within our budget. FUN FACT: You can't fly a drone over a state park. However if it is licensed and approved by the ranger you may be able to for your event. So don't be afraid to ask for details if you plan on having drone footage. BONUS INFO: This space is also very flat, so our several handicapped guests were able to navigate the ground relatively easily. One was in a wheelchair and was able to access all spaces for all parts of the day. Another NOTE: There is no bridal suite at the upper cabin venue, but there is one at the lower garden venue. We were in the cabin and just created a sign for the larger bathroom and made it our suite during the wedding, but didn't get ready there. The other bathroom we used as a handicap bathroom and the other guests had access to a bathroom outside of the cabin. OVERALL, Wickham park added to my day in a positive way and I would highly recommend them for any corporate events and most definitely weddings!

I married here mid-August 2024 in the English Garden. We only had a ceremony and it was perfect. Diana was a pleasure to speak and work with. She was very enthusiastic and helpful with any and all questions I had. The area that we rented for the two hours (again, ceremony only) was reserved and blocked off so others visiting the park would not enter the area. Not to mention the park was GORGEOUS. We thank everyone here at Wickham Park for making our special day even better!!

Great venue! We had a beautiful garden style wedding here in June. The steel arbor and benches provide a great ceremony spot, a top a vast lush green hill, overlooking the capitol Hartford CT. The amenities are plentiful; easy set up for caterers, bartenders, DJ, MC, live band. Our Photographer and videographer loved the setting. Communication was prompt and the coordinator was very helpful!

Everyone was nice and I was happy to work with them, I just didnt have enough details about the chair and the tent prices but everything worked out at the end. My only complaint is i like to be crystal clear on details. Both ladies i had the chance to work with were very goog at what they do, they know the park well.

My husband and I chose the Cabin Garden area for our wedding reception. This was our dream reception spot. It has an intimate feel with the tent area for eating, the garden area for walking around during cocktail hour and the cabin area for dancing. Everyone on their team really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. We love love love this place and will carry these great memories with us forever. Thank you so much!!!

We had a wonderful time at our wedding! We were very impressed with not only the aesthetics of Wickham Park’s Emerald Room and Irish Garden, but also how everyone was able to keep up with communication and stay on schedule and on track. It made our day beautiful, smooth and seamless, and as low stress as any wedding day can be 😂

The staff at Wickham park were extremely helpful and professional throughout the planning process of our wedding. Diana and David were amazing and even though it rained on our special day, they made sure to have a back up plan and that things went smoothly for us. Despite a few hiccups with the ceremony due to the rain, our wedding night was unforgettable! What a beautiful venue. We highly recommend!

We could not have picked a more perfect venue for our October wedding. The Cabin at Wickham Park was everything we dreamed about, and more. It was so easy working with the event coordinators; from scheduling a tour, saving our date, choosing vendors from an exclusive vendor list, to the midnight emails when I couldn't sleep and had a question. On the day of our wedding, there were 2 rangers that walked around and made sure everything was ok and kept the fire lit. They were absolutely fantastic. I wish I could do my wedding over only because it was perfect and the most fun I've had in a long time. Thank you Wickham Park for making our dream wedding come true!

We would recommend a wedding at Wickham to anyone! The grounds are beautiful and Diana was wonderful to work with. Despite a rainy day, staff went above and beyond to make our day seamless and special.

We got married at The Emerald Room at Wickham Park in September 2022 and had the BEST time! So many people told us that they loved the venue – it’s beautiful, quaint, and unique. The best part about this venue is that it offers a naturally beautiful backdrop for photos. We didn’t require a ton of decorations because the venue itself is gorgeous without it and our guests were excited to take photos because there was so much beauty around them. The Emerald Room is an excellent choice between the two options at Wickham Park because it has a bridal suite and updated bathrooms. As the bride, I was very comfortable that day because of the option to go into the bridal suite for privacy when I needed to change, use the restroom, take a moment, etc. Tips for those considering getting married here – look into the pricing of the caterers you’re able to work with in advance of signing your contract at the venue. We probably would have still chosen Wickham Park, but we were surprised by the cost of the caterers after already signing with Wickham. Secondly, think about rain plans. We were so lucky that it didn’t rain, but I was nervous about the weather because the rain plan wouldn’t have been great if the weather was bad. Third, have your photographer take photos towards the back of the gardens or behind The Emerald Room. We took photos basically at the entrance of the park and had lots of family and friends show up early and saw us taking pictures before the ceremony – as a bride on the shy side, I just wasn’t ready for an overflow of family in that moment. Lastly, get a firm understanding up front about what the venue staff are responsible for on the night of your wedding. I was under the impression that we would have no real help that day from the venue so I had a bunch of friends come early to help, but in reality the venue staff did a lot more for us than expected and it caused for some confusion with my friends. Overall, we loved getting married at Wickham Park and would absolutely recommend to any couple searching for a quaint, naturally beautiful venue to get married here. Thank you, Wickham Park team!

We absolutely loved our wedding at the Cabin at the Hilltop Garden! It is the most beautiful setting, and the perfect set-up for easy flow from cocktail hour to dinner to dancing. Our guests were oohing and ahhing about the beauty of the park, and everyone appreciated having the space. Wickham made my dream wedding come true! Sarah was super responsive and the park staff were friendly and accommodating. 10/10 would recommend!

Wickham Park, specifically the Emerald Room, is a beautiful venue with great staff. Sarah and her team helped us from before we booked up until the end of the wedding and answered our questions on how we could accommodate the incoming rain at the last minute. The best part of the venue is that it's so beautiful on its own, minimal decoration is needed.

We can not say enough about Wickham Park as a wedding venue. Thanks to Covid, we had two wedding celebrations here and each time was magical. From our small intimate setting in the English Garden to our larger memorable party in The Cabin, Wickham Park left our guests and ourselves wishing each night would never end. This past year, Sarah Tilley helped our celebration really come together and it couldn't have been more perfect. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to make their wedding day even more special than it already is.

We got married here on 8/20/21. The venue was absolutely beautiful! The area for the ceremony and the gardens made for stunning photos. Sarah, the coordinator, made everything smooth and easy. It was very helpful meeting with her the week before to run through everything and the day of she was energetic and helpful! Everyone raved about how beautiful the venue was and what a great time they had.

We got married here on 8/14/21 after having to reschedule due to covid. Sarah was absolutely amazing!!! She always answered all questions in a timely manner and helped us to make sure all of our needs were met throughout the day. And the venue was stunning and so so much fun. We loved having so many different areas for guests to explore during and before the wedding. We had the best wedding and got so many compliments! I would highly recommend using this venue. If we had to do it again, we wouldn’t change a thing!

Wickham Park was nothing short of amazing on our wedding day. Sarah was BRILLIANT and I couldn’t have asked for a better coordinator. There were no issues day of and even when there were slight inconveniences they were there to step in and fix it as quickly as possible. The day was absolutely perfect and we will relive it for years and years.

Our wedding was held at the Cabin at Hilltop Garden. The venue itself is breath-taking. It was the first venue we looked at, and the last. The gardens are so incredibly well-kept, and the tent and cabin were very clean. The ceremony space is stunning, with a view like no other! There was so much space for our guests to roam around, even with the periodic downpours! Sarah took over our event later in our planning period, but she was awesome and really went above and beyond. Sarah worked hard to make sure we had the most comfortable layout for our guests under the tent, and was there for anything we needed. She made sure to meet us in-person at our rehearsal, and even made it to our wedding, where she helped tremendously, watching the weather radar like a hawk to guarantee we would get to use the outdoor ceremony space, and she helped to get our giant bridal party down the aisle in an organized and presentable fashion! If you don't mind booking everything a-la-carte, we highly recommend Wickham Park! It was affordable, beautiful, and we are so happy it's where we chose to have our wedding.

I wish I can give this place more stars ❤️. From the beginning to the day of our wedding (which was only 2 months of planning) every step was a breeze. Sarah Tilley was tremendously helpful and for that I’m forever grateful. Aside from this being our wedding I have never actually attended one so had no idea what I was in for. I thought it would be more difficult but the truth is the entire process was as smooth sailing. Thank you again to all the staff and vendors for making our day so special and magical in the breathe taking garden. And to Sarah for help guiding me every step of the way ❤️

My husband and I are so glad we found Wickham Park! When our first venue fell through I was panicked, but it ended up being a blessing because I found Wickham Park. It had everything I wanted and more. We were married at the Cabin in September and it was just magical. The view, the gardens, being able to set up lawn games, everything was perfect. The attendants were wonderful and Pamela was so easy to work with, always available to answer my questions. My guest are still commenting on what a lovely day they had and how beautiful the Park is. I highly recommend it!

When my then fiancée and I began planning our wedding one of the first things we decided was that we wanted to have it in a flower garden and we are so lucky to have found Wickham Park. It has several enchanting gardens, two wedding chapels and was just fifteen minutes from our apartment. We chose to have our ceremony at the cabin location which had the perfect garden for our cocktail hour, a tent-covered reception area, and to top it all of a beautiful little chapel overlooking downtown Hartford, were my now wife and I made our first home. Once we found Wickham Park we didn’t even look at another venue. Not only was it exactly what we wanted, but being a nonprofit park it came in at less than a third of the next best location we looked into. We couldn’t be happier with our decision and would recommend it to anyone.

I recently got married at Wickham Park in the Emerald Room. It truly felt like I was in a fairytale! The gardens were pristine and were wonderful for having our wedding pictures taken in. Pam was an absolute dream to work with and made planning and coordinating the logistics so easy! If you want a fairytale wedding, get married at Wickham Park!

What can I say about Wickham park. Um. FLAWLESS!!!!!!! I literally get chills looking at our pictures and when I recap the day I loved that we choose them!! Pamela and her staff were so kind and helpful from the time we found them to the end of our wedding! They made things so easy as far as getting a layout of the cabin space for my decorator, allowing us to measure things anytime they were open, so flexible it really eased our planning process. Though I’m never getting married again lol I would do a wedding over and over at Wickham Park!! I love you guys so much, thank you for making A Lopez Kinda Love blossom brighter! :-)

My husband and I cannot say enough about our experience at Wickham. Pamela was incredible to work with, making all our communication with her and planning of the party stress free and seamless. The cabin and grounds are absolutely beautiful with rustic charm and a gorgeous view of Hartford. The incredible amount of natural beauty this venue provides is unbelievable and makes you feel as though you are enclosed in a secret garden- completely idyllic and fantastical! All of our guests told us it was one of the best venues they had ever been to and that the environment created such a wonderful party atmosphere. We would recommend Wickham to any couple looking to book their wedding- you, your family and friends will be so happy you did!!

My husband and I had our wedding in the cabin at Wickham Park last July and it was beautiful! The venue is unique with many different possible seating areas for guests throughout the night. The garden areas are well taken care of and create great photo opportunities. Working with Pam was a pleasure and she was very helpful with answering any questions I had about my wedding day.

This review is for our wedding at Wickham Park at the end of May 2018. Specifically, we utilized the Emerald Room in the Irish Garden venue and worked with Pamela from start to finish. We can’t speak highly enough about the venue and highly recommend it to anyone looking now. We visited a number of other venues, but came to choose Wickham Park for their pricing, accessibility for a wheelchair user, location relative to our guests, support of Pamela, and generally beautiful surroundings. We are an outdoorsy couple wanted to hold as much of our celebration outdoors as possible, but also wanted to have an indoor location included should the weather require it (it did!). The Emerald Room in the Irish Garden had the perfect balance of this for us. Although it was early in spring to be using the garden, Pamela promised and the staff delivered a beautiful setting that complimented the day. Unfortunately, rain started right as the ceremony began and we had to move inside, but were still able to accommodate our approximately 60 guests, catering staff with bar and hors d'oeuvre table, small band, and arbor for the ceremony comfortably. We had planned to have the ceremony at the outdoor gazebo, which has ample seating and then have the band playing in the garden (there were plenty of exterior outlets) as guests strolled around and enjoyed the garden and a bar set-up and hors d'oeuvres. Either way the space was great. The surrounding gardens were great for photos before the celebration started and they all turned out great against the plantings, trees, and pond within a short distance of the venue. We also snuck out when the rain let-up to take photos at the gazebo in the garden and really enjoyed how they came out. Pamela was amazing from start to finish. We are very detailed in our planning and Pamela spent a great deal of time responding thoughtfully to our high number of email and text questions and updates. From meeting with us at the Hartford Wedding Expo to a walk-through of the facility, Pamela was always great. Pamela shared lots of helpful information including floor plans to help us organize our thoughts. On the day of the wedding everything was just as we discussed and when we needed to shift things inside the staff member who was in the venue throughout the day helped make this seamless. The only negative was that it was a little loud with all our guests indoors while the band was playing and the doors were closed as a result of the rain. This couldn’t really be avoided for us and we asked the band to play softer, which helped. Not a large problem and speaks highly if this is the only concern I can think of. Another positive note is that that parking was easy for our guests and we didn’t hear about any issues finding the venue based on the signage and directions given by the rangers greeting all our guests at the entrance to the park. We received a very high level of care, professionalism, and support. We couldn’t ask for anything more and would encourage others to consider this venue. We wouldn’t change our choice to hold our wedding here. Additionally, we used David Alan Catering and highly recommend working with them if you have the chance. What a beautiful venue and friendly/helpful staff. Our dog was in the wedding party and the park attendant made sure to keep an eye on her so that she did not get out of the gardens. Highly recommend this place.

We held our wedding at the Emerald Room and Irish garden at Wickham Park on October 21st 2018. While initially we had wanted to use the Cabin location at the park, when we saw the Emerald Room and it's garden we were in love with it. We held a smaller wedding and this location was cute and much more intimate of a location. We are beyond pleased with the venue and our experience. Pamela, the event coordinator for the park was wonderful. Quick to respond with any and all questions and was great to work with. The Irish garden for our wedding was beautiful for the time of year. The only disappointing element was that the weather had been just a little too cold for guests to stroll through the garden for too long. But that is no fault of the venue of course, haha. Just a New England wedding thing. Overall, I would highly recommend this venue to anyone. Though in particular I think it is best for smaller, intimate weddings as the space is at a premium. Also, I think it is a great location for local couples because unlike traditional reception halls and the like, you can revisit the park and relive your memories with ease.

Wickham Park was everything we ever could have dreamed of! The tent was heated for our cool fall dinner and the fireplace inside the cabin was both warm and picturesque. We received so many compliments on this venue throughout the night. The venue is also in a great location with of course spectacular views! There are about 4 hotels within 10 minutes making a short shuttle turn around time which guests were thrilled about. Cannot say enough good things about Wickham Park!

The Emerald Room and Irish Garden was absolutely perfect. The staff was so helpful during the planning process and the day of. We received so many complements from our guests on how beautiful the park was, even from locals that did not know the beauty that was next door to them. We ran into a problem of people just walking their strollers through our cocktail hour in the garden and the staff quickly reacted by putting up private event signs. We were given great vendor recommendations that made our day absolutely perfect. You have to see it to believe it!! It is well worth it.

We held our wedding ceremony at Wickham Park's English Gardens, and it was absolutely incredible! The setting is beautiful for a large ceremony, and it was also a great spot to do pictures before the ceremony (for both our bridal party and our wedding guests). The logistics make it very easy - there is plenty of parking for busses to drop off/ pick up in the lot right next to the gardens, and the park staff set up chairs and directed guests to the right spot. Pam is the coordinator for the park and was a pleasure to work with throughout.

I want to start by saying we had a perfect wedding. We got married at the top of the hill overlooking Hartford and it was absolutely stunning! All of our guests were so surprised that they have lived in the area their whole lives and had never been there! There was one downside that I have to mention...The day of our wedding there were a lot of "outsiders" lined up watching our ceremony and photos. I had been told the hilltop would be blocked off and it really wasn't. When we went to take photos we had to ask people to get out of the frame. It got old fast and there was nobody from the park to tell about this.

My daughter's wedding was absolutely perfect. The beautiful Irish Gardens and Emerald Room were just absolutely spectacular. I can't say enough nice things about this gorgeous venue for a wedding. We were so happy with everything about the wedding. We received numerous compliments from our guests. Everyone enjoyed the view and the event. Thank you!!

We just recently had our wedding at Wickham Park in Manchester CT (9.21.2018). It was everything I could have imagined and more. Everyone was super helpful from Pamela the wedding coordinator to the rangers onsite! The view from were we got married was just perfect. Our family and friends were blown away with the view and never knew such a beautiful place was right here in Manchester. Thank you Wickham Park! I couldn't have been happier with my choice for you as my wedding venue!

My husband and I had a wonderful time planning and enjoying our wedding at the cabin at Wickham Park. Pamela was incredibly attentive through our e-mail correspondence, the staff was friendly as we'd visit the park to check out the space, and our wedding day was perfect. I loved how we had a list of vendors, that were very familiar with Wickham Park, to choose from and they were absolutely amazing choices. We had gorgeous weather, the pictures were stunning and all of our guests enjoyed themselves!!

Wickham Park is a wonderful venue. The atmosphere is beautiful and charming, and Pamela, the coordinator, did a great job to make sure the event ran smoothly the day of. We didn’t run into any bumps a long the way, which made for a wonderfully stress-free wedding.

It's hard for me to begin this review because I can't find adequate words to describe how insanely gorgeous our wedding at Wickham Park was. We got married on June 30th at the Cabin Garden in a heat wave. The garden was spectacular and well-maintained, and the cabin and tent areas were immaculately clean. The view from the ceremony area at the cabin is breathtaking, and our guests could not stop gushing about how beautiful it was. The park staff were professional and very friendly. Pamela was extremely responsive and helpful, and worked with our other vendors to give us a stress-free wedding experience! Overall, Wickham Park (and especially the Cabin Garden) has the WOW factor that makes it the perfect place to get married. I can't stop thinking about my beautiful wedding. It was such a fairytale!

My wedding at the Cabin at Wickham Park was more than a dream come true. If you haven't seen it yet - please do yourself a favor and drive up there and just walk through that garden at the Cabin and see the view of Hartford. It is so magical. The entire wedding night everyone raved about how wonderful and unique the venue was. Think about how many weddings you have been to at a banquet hall - this venue will make you stand out from the rest for sure! I also liked that it is a blank canvas for your own decor style and you don't have to spend a ton on flowers because your guests will be surrounded by them already! Pam and her staff were also very helpful. I asked a lot of crazy questions and they never made me feel dumb. They had a lot of good recommendations on vendors, and they really do their best to make things easier for you - i.e. they let me set up all my decorations the night before at the rehearsal (since my wedding was on a Friday). That was such a relief! Also, they are dog friendly and there is nothing like having your furbaby be a part of the big day! Conclusion: picking this venue was the best decision ever (after agreeing to marry my husband of course!)

My daughter's wedding two weeks ago at the the cabin was wonderful. It is such a beautiful venue and the combination of the views, gardens and rustic elegance made it a magical night. Pamela was great to deal with. She considered each question thoughtfully before responding and enthusiatically embraced our ideas. She was also patient with last minute changes. Our cabin attendants were a pleasure to deal with and really were there to help. They ended up being more helpful than I had anticipated. The venue is gorgeous and as other reviewers have said the most often heard comments were "What a beautiful spot" and "I didn't know this was here". We had 160 adults who sat in the tent and five kids who ate outside on the picnic tables. I was concerned with seating 12 at a table but it was not cramped at all. We used one of their recommended caterers (Catering by Christine, see my review) which I think made a big difference. This was part of the Wickham Estate, the location they often entertained in, and there are a few logistics particular to this location. Having a beautiful day certainly helped but I visited the cabin several times during preparation and it was beautiful at all times, even in the rain.

Absolutely love this place! Not only is it beautiful but Pam was extremely helpful and patient with us through the whole process. Everything was perfect. I wish it could have lasted longer!
