I cannot say enough wonderful things about Roger Swonger and Wiedemann Hill Mansion. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, but Roger is what makes the experience truly exceptional.
From the planning process through the very end of our son and daughter-in-law’s wedding, Roger’s attention to detail was extraordinary. On the wedding day, he was quite literally everywhere—sometimes running—anticipating what was needed before anyone even had to ask. He seamlessly coordinated the rehearsal, guests, caterer, servers, bartender, florist, photographer, hair and makeup artists, music, beverages, and countless other details happening behind the scenes.
Ten minutes before the outdoor ceremony, we had a brief rain shower. Roger immediately changed course and beautifully executed the ceremony indoors without creating any sense of panic or disruption. It felt completely seamless.
At another point, a guest accidentally spilled red wine that splattered onto both the bride’s and groom’s white wedding attire. Roger immediately took them into the kitchen, had club soda ready, and somehow managed to remove every single spot. That pretty much sums up Roger—he sees a problem and, before you have time to worry about it, he has already solved it.
Even the smallest details mattered to him. He remembered which guests wanted non-alcoholic sparkling wine and made sure they received it for the toast. Nothing seemed too small for his attention.
As the mother of the groom, perhaps the greatest gift Roger gave me was the ability to simply enjoy the wedding. I never had to worry about what was happening next, whether someone was where they needed to be, or whether something had been forgotten. Roger had it handled.
Wiedemann Hill Mansion is a gorgeous, intimate and very special venue, but Roger is its heart. His professionalism, warmth, flexibility, incredible work ethic and attention to detail exceeded every expectation we had.
If you are considering Wiedemann Hill Mansion for your wedding, I can wholeheartedly say that our family could not have chosen a better place—or a better person to entrust with such an important day. We will always be grateful to Roger for the role he played in making my son and daughter in law's wedding so beautiful and memorable.
It was the perfect venue for us. Intimate but not cramped, stunning architectural details in and outside. I was a big fan of the large porch overlooking the skyline, and pleasantly surprised that it worked out so well as a space to dance around in towards the end of the evening. Roger was exceptionally helpful, good-natured, considerate, and made sure things ran smoothly for us and our guests on the day and days leading up to the ceremony and reception. I would recommend this to any couple interested in vintage charm and romantic touches.
