Wild Asparagus

Wild Asparagus has a great reputation… I’ve tasted their quality food before. But dealing with them took my appreciation to a whole new level! My daughter got engaged 5/15 this year and we had the wedding this past Saturday. Working with Siri – and Diane – was so easy! Every detail was covered! The quality of the service, both before the event and during, was top-notch! Communication was concise and clear, and Siri brought me a great deal of comfort with her attention to detail. Chef Julia hosted our tasting, and my daughter and son-in-law were so excited afterwards! But the evening of the event really shone the spotlight on the team: The cheese puffs had guests crawling over each other! Every dinner came out hot, cooked to perfection and oh, so yummy! The wait staff was efficient, friendly and willing to go above and beyond to make the evening special. I am deeply grateful to Diane, Siri, Chef Julia and the whole team for making this a truly memorable event for us!

We hired Wild Asparagus for our wedding in June and honestly cannot say enough positive things about them! We worked mainly with Sheila, and she was incredibly attentive, flexible, and helpful. Our venue was one that they have worked with frequently, and they knew exactly everything that we would need for the day of! We had 2 different bar locations, and they moved everything from cocktail hour to the reception bar promptly and without issue! The food turned out incredible - and exactly how it was during our tasting. We received so many compliments from our guests on the service and food. We actually had some guests trying to bribe the staff for the garlic puff recipe, and another one who even went home and tried to recreate them! We were beyond impressed with the setup and service during dinner, and they even went out of their way to set up our cookie table with our own cookies we brought. They handled it like pros and it really took a lot of stress off of us. I can't imagine our day being so perfect without the incredible service and positive attitude from Wild Asparagus. We plan to use them in the future for any other catered events!

It was incredibly important to my husband and I to have delicious food at our wedding, and also to have several options (we have some vegan and gluten-free guests, myself included). Wild Asparagus was the only catering company that we did an actual tasting with, and we were sold instantly! The food was SO delicious, all of our guests loved it. We were, unfortunately, a “covid couple”, and we had to postpone our wedding a year due to the pandemic. During that time, there were a few very small price changes to the contract, and one very large one (the price of the steak medallions more than doubled). We were really disappointed that they weren’t able to honor the pre-pandemic pricing that was in our contract - HOWEVER, we were able to make a change to the menu and everything ended up being truly delicious and wonderful. There were a few staffing changes that happened during this time as well, and one that happened about 3 weeks before our wedding (the main coordinator switched from Kelly to Sheila, due to personal reasons). They were INCREDIBLE during this transition, and Sheila was such a joy to work with!! We could tell we were in such good hands, which was a huge relief. Even though there were some bumps along the way (which is valid, it was a pandemic afterall), we are so incredibly glad we went with Wild Asparagus for our wedding caterer! P.S. - If you go with them, get the cheese puffs and potato puffs…our guests are STILL raving about them!!!

As a wedding photographer here on the Knot (Daniel Adams Photography, Lake Villa IL) I’ve worked with allot of vendors. Few have impressed me as much as Wild Asparagus did.

I do not know where to begin. From day 1, Kari was a godsend. Her kind spirit and warm heart was just as comforting as her incredible talent and organization. She was so on point during the entire process. We had a backyard wedding that required rentals of EVERYTHING, from the tent, to generators, to restroom trailers, down to the forks. Kari orchestrated everything and executed flawlessly. My wedding day vibe was going for a swanky Great Gatsby feel, and she delivered just that. Not to mention THE FOOD! Wow. An eclectic menu filled with unique options that pleased everyone. I’m literally thunderstruck at how perfect the Wild Asparagus team was this weekend. I would hire them 10000 times over and recommend them to anyone and everyone that wanted a flawless, well thought out, and delicious wedding. Kari - thank you and your team for giving me the best day of my life. I can never thank you enough. I would disregard any negative reviews prior to this year, as the company changed hands and is under new management. They are phenomenal. Just hire them.

Had Wild Asparagus Catering at an event and everything was wonderful! Could not get the cheese puffs out of my mind. Have been back twice to buy appetizers for my own parties, and I live an hour away, I would drive even farther for their apps! I always make my own appetizers, with theirs in my freezer, I don't know when I'll make my own again.
