About this vendor
Hi there!!
I'M STOKED YOU FOUND ME + TOOK TIME TO REACH OUT!
If we haven't already met, my name is Alaxandra. Nice to cyber-meet ya :) I'm a native New Yorker (I don't have an accent somehow), who moved to San Diego and is now living in MKE.
I'm upbeat, quirky, banter-y, super-detailed, 5-foot Photographer (maybe a little shorter, but shhh!) with over 8 years of experience and 200+ weddings, and 100+ boudoir & portrait sessions under my belt. (special pricing for combo photography services)
The good news: there's a personality behind this camera, so it will be a good time...like a fun date, except I'm your third wheel. EEK, sounds kinda creepy but hiiii that's me! If you want a down-to-earth creative who will make you feel like more of a friend than a client, but with a heavy dose of professionalism, read on :)
Here's the thing:
9 out of 10 clients feel SO uncomfortable with the idea of photos + are afraid it's gonna be a drag. If that's you...I'VE GOTCHU! All my client reviews will back up what I'm about to tell you, so take a look + DON'T take my word for it.
From giving outfit tips, to directing the photo session + backdrops, down to creating the whole picture from where you're looking to where you're standing and every little part of what you're doing...including, yep, you guessed it: where your hands are going, Im here to guide you every step of the way! I love to capture everything from candid, to moody, to dramatic, to fun. It's all about delivering VARIETY during your session.
You won't even have time to feel awk while we shoot, because I like to work fast and keep the energy moving. I will use lots of prompts to make sure we create all the authentic + natural magic you see on my website + instagram.
So, in short you can breathe now because your only job is to sit back, relax + look hella good during this process.
Cant wait to connect about your shoot!
xx Alaxandra (or Alax, no preference)

Alax hooked it up! We did a full package (engagement, intimate session, wedding) and she rocked all three sessions. She is professional, creative, timely and easy to work with. She...
was able to direct us during our engagement shoot as it was our first time working with a professional photographer as a couple, she helped us stay relaxed and comfortable during the intimate shoot and made our wedding pictures as magical as we imagined them to be. She is top notch, best in town, no need to look any further photographer. We couldn't be more thankful for her work.
Photography was the priority for our wedding and as soon as I was engaged I was looking for a photographer. When I came across Alax's work, I knew I had to get her! Alax's vision a...
nd artistry is unparalleled, and her work speaks for itself. We did our engagement and wedding photos with Alax and she is as incredible to work with as her work. Models we are not, but Alax gave excellent cues and posed us to look like we might be! Alax is organized, communicative, and professional in every aspect. She also was fantastic from everything from keeping the timeline moving, to placing my veil, to finding the perfect spot for sunset photos. For our wedding, her second shooter, Zac, was there and was such an asset in capturing our day! We could not be happier and would recommend her to everyone!

ing & engagement shoot, which was so fun, & those photos blew me away. I just received my sneak peak gallery from the wedding and OH MY GOODNESS I just about died they are INCREDIBLE! I could not have asked for a better person to capture our special day, and I’m just obsessed with her photography style. She was the most important vendor we hired (in my opinion) because those photos will last a lifetime. I can’t thank her enough, she brought my vision to life in photography. We were honored to work with her

our wedding! My husband and I aren't big photo people, but Alax made us feel so comfortable that all our photos turned out stunning and we could not be happier with the end product.
Alax was able to capture some absolutely stellar shots. Very artistic, beautiful lighting (despite it raining the entire time). For the family portraits she was able to get everyon...
e including small children to look at smile at the same time, and was able to coordinate the different shots so efficiently, so I was really impressed by that. And all of the photos of our friends at night in the tent with the string lights came out so beautiful. She has a really great eye and good energy.

d! She allowed us to decide where to go for the shoot and also provided great recommendations too. Ultimately, her locations were way better! Her website and the ease of securing the date, options and packages were a breeze. On our wedding day, we were so relaxed and comfortable while she was taking our photos. She could easily read our vibe and knew how to make us not stress and enjoy the candid moments. Her post wedding edits came in a timely manner and we were blown away, to say the least! She is awesome, kind, funny, professional and so much more! You won't be disappointed, trust us!

h of fresh air! She even saved me from an absolute meltdown when my train bustle broke! She magically found safety pins and very carefully and gracefully repined my dress. She is someone who can really read a room and direct it-Which I think is very important in a photographer. But not only that she is the sweetest, the funniest, just the best energy to have around! We highly recommend her, you honestly it will not be disappointed. She is the whole package. PLUS I think her photography speaks for itself, she is extremely talented in capturing such beautiful moments! 100/10 we love Alax 🥰♥️

so long, my fiancé called and asked where I was (haha) Alax and I hadn’t even realized how long it had been. Fast forward three years and three wedding dates later, we finally had the pleasure of working with her on our wedding day. I knew the minute I met her how professional and talented she is, but to see her on the day in full form was beyond impressive, and honestly took so much pressure off of me that entire day. I could not imagine our day without her. Did I mention her talent? What you see if what you get with Alax, she blows me away with how well she works with changing weather, lighting, surroundings, and also our other vendors like our videographer. She’s the best in this industry. If you’re still looking for a photographer, book Alax! Love you girl. Thank you soooooo much for everything you have done for Joe and I. Xoxoxoxo

Hiring Alax is one of the best decisions my husband and I made while planning our wedding. When we got engaged, we agreed that the priorities were #1 - get married, #2 - hire an am...
azing photographer. Amazing photos from our wedding was something that was super important to me and a non-negotiable. I sifted through dozens of local photographers' portfolios considering style, price, and photo packages offered. Alax's style spoke to me immediately, the coloring, the shadows, the natural looking poses - exactly what I was hoping for. You never imagine your photos can look as amazing as the portfolio photos do, but they really can. Alax has an amazing way of getting the perfect location, the perfect lighting, and a natural looking pose out of even deeply-anxious-super-self-conscious-not-at-all-photogenic people. Her casual and easy going personality makes you feel immediately at ease as she walks you through every step of the process. She will pose your arms/legs/face as needed, no need to be naturally good at it. Both our engagement and wedding sneak peek photos look like they could be taken out of a fairytale princess book - they are that good. Alax will work hard to get the perfect shot - she will step in holes, climb over bushes, end up with thorns in her shoes and branches in her hair, she is not afraid to get dirty to get the job done. And boy does she deliver - I'm amazed that some of the most stunning photos we received were from spots that didn't seem like they warrant a photo shoot, but you just have to trust her vision because the final product will blow you away. Our wedding photos have already exceeded our wildest expectations and we only have our sneak peek. We are going to love and cherish the photos from our wedding day for a lifetime.

o really awkward humans, made us feel super comfortable, worked some amazing photography magic and created absolutely amazing photos of our wedding day. Working with someone who has such a clear passion and excitement for what they do truly comes across in their amazing work. I can't recommend Alax enough! An asbolutely incredible human!

with. She got both my fiancé and I to loosen up in front of the camera and wow did she capture some amazing shots. The way she captures and edits each photo is stunning, and worthy of any big name magazine. Many of our guests commented on how the photos looked like they were from a movie! Throughout the process she becomes your best friend and supporter. Her calm, laid back demeanor blends perfectly with how organized, efficient, and talented she is. I am forever thankful we chose her as our photographer and already cannot wait to work with her again.

s on a location, her amazing photography skills, and wonderful personality, we feel like we struck gold.
I think what my fiancé and I appreciated most about Alax is how comfortable and at ease she made us feel. All of our photos felt authentic and we laughed and had fun during the whole session. She has a knack for “posing” you without it feeling like you’re posing, and it made the pictures look genuine. We’ve gotten so many compliments so far, and I can’t wait for her to shoot our wedding!
I would 100% recommend The Wild Authentic to anyone looking for top quality photos and an amazing experience.

During our Engagement Photos, she made us feel very comfortable and helped with posing directions, etc. It was much needed for people who aren’t naturals in front of the camera. Once we got our Engagement Photos back, I looked at them non-stop for days. Alax’s ability to capture perfect lighting is amazing, she knows how to pose you to capture the perfect pictures.
I cannot wait for our wedding and those photos!

I'm a type A person and LOVE to do my research and so when we found Alaxandra, we crossed our fingers! We loved the images we saw on Alaxandra’s website and knew we wanted to hire ...
her to be our photographer.
Alaxandra was extremely professional, fun and and all-around joy to work with. Her personality is warm and practical, you can’t help but feel comfortable in her presence. Alaxandra captured so many moments amazing from our ceremony that we still enjoy to this day! She also did an incredible job of keeping us on track and on time with our wedding coordinators schedule. We still think the pictures are spectacular! No really, she's without equal and worth every penny! Her editing and eye for details made it difficult to choose our favorites. That’s a great problem to have. We highly recommend her services!
10/10 would work with Alax again!

Finding the right photographer for our wedding was one of our highest priorities when it came to the big day. We wanted someone who would capture our memories in a way that felt like us. Alax went above and beyond. The whole day was beautiful, but a bit of a blur. Looking back at the photos (we've only seen the sneak peak so far and are blown away) she really made time stand still and somehow slowed down an experience that seemed to fly by me. I will forever be grateful for that.
Outside of being an awesome photographer, she helped keep the day running smooth by keeping us on schedule, wrangling family members, and even pinning the guys' boutonnieres on.
If she's available for your event, you should book her while you still can. You won't regret it!
We loved the images we saw on Alaxandra’s website and knew we wanted her to photograph our big day. From stunning large shots, to amazing intimate moments, she does it all. From th...
e very start, Alaxandra was personable, professional and regularly available for input and feedback on our wedding process. Since she lives in a different state from us, we had phone calls and FaceTime to get to know each other and learn her process before the wedding day. Her personality is warm and engaging, you can’t help but feel comfortable in her presence.
On the day of our wedding she took photos of us getting ready. I got makeup on my cream suit jacket and was freaking out. Alaxandra jumped in and removed the spot with no problem. She was calm under pressure which also put me at ease. We took photos before the wedding started and I got thirsty. She let me drink from her water bottle. Alaxandra captured all the moments of our ceremony and even wrangled all our 45 guests into one group shot, no easy feat! She also did a great job of keeping us on track and on time with our wedding coordinators schedule.
The pictures turned out spectacular! Her editing and eye for details made it difficult to choose our favorites. That’s a great problem to have. I highly recommend her services and found the value unbeatable!

Moving to Milwaukee last November led to meeting my fiancé John in February, and meeting Alax in August (two very serendipitous and significant events)! Upon discovering that Alax ...
was a wedding photographer, I wanted to check out her website. I thought If her work was as creative, genuine, cool yet warm, and beautiful as her spiritual aura, she would be the perfect photographer to hire—if she were available.
When I viewed her work—which is true artistry—I was in awe. Her work shows that she is a premiere wedding photographer. However, Alax was booked to shoot in another state the day before our twilight/sunrise SUNDAY wedding. So John and I were beyond thrilled that she could even commit to shooting our wedding.
It literally was dark and a bit windy when we started shooting. Alax magically captured the beauty of night turning into morning, Lake Michigan, Atwater Beach, and the love and joy we were feeling, all with a wonderful sense of calm. When we saw our photo gallery, we were immediately transported back to those exact moments.
One of my NYC ad exec friends shared that our photos reminded her of a Disney shoot she did with the iconic Annie Leibovitz...... so check out The Wild Authentic website and make your plans soon!

alk to. She made some wonderful suggestions for where to do engagement photos in San Diego based on her experiences and the ideas for photos that we had in mind. In addition, she came prepared with her own ideas of cute poses and specific locations to shoot certain pictures. She even timed the sunset perfectly to get a pic of us walking under the pier - one of my favorites! Then came the wedding and Alax did a wonderful job of pre-planning with us to set expectations for the day in terms of when and how we would do photos. She made sure she knew the schedule of events and which moments we absolutely wanted captured. Thankfully, she and her teammate caught many more special and candid moments than we could have anticipated. Somehow she was able to make our tuxedo speedo and bikini wedding still look classy and timeless, but also hilarious! Then, later in our 'formal' wear, she snapped perfect shots of tender moments on the dance floor and with friends and family. Most importantly, she knew how to navigate the event and essentially stay out of sight and I have no idea how she did it! We barely knew she was there unless she pulled us aside for quick photos we had requested that day. Alax is so talented and I can promise you that you will be thrilled you booked her to photograph whatever special moments you are celebrating in your life.
The number one comment we received from our guests as they left our wedding was “your photographer was amazing!” And boy were they right. At our June 2017 wedding, Alax was confide...
nt, professional, creative, and could rangle both of our huge families to get family photos done ahead of schedule. She made us and our wedding party feel so at ease and comfortable that she made hours of photos feel fun and not like a chore. By the end of our wedding, we felt like we had been friends with her for years. Once we received our photos, we were truely blown away. She made us look like 1920s movie stars! So much so that people always mistake one of the large prints we have on our wall as a poster. Moral of the story: have Alax photograph your wedding. Trust me.
Alax is a great photographer! She is super sweet and fun! We loved our wedding photos. San Diego will miss her!!!
If you are looking for an enthusiastic, fun and easy going photographer to make your day special.. Alex is the one! Alex was our photographer for our engagement and wedding photos....
Her ability to gel with our personalities to help us get the best shots and make the process so easy and fun is second to none. if you are like me, and hate being in front of a camera... This is HUGE! Alex is able to make you feel comfortable, no pressure and just about enjoying the moment which shows in the final photos. Alex really has an eye for this. The passion she has for her work transpires into something very special for these types of photos.. for us and couple alike im sure. So if youre looking to have beautiful, ever-lasting memories.. Alex is your girl! Thank you Alex for great work!
PS, her work is soooo good, our wedding photos have been featured on multiple websites!
Hello readers! I would like to take some time to write a review for Alaxandra (Alax) Rutella. I could write a book about her...but I will keep it concise.
Alax was our photogra...
pher for our wedding in San Diego in the fall of 2017. It was my absolute fairytale wedding with my Navy SEAL husband, Steve. As I would assume for any bride, finding the right photographer was very important especially after we put so much time and money into the details of the weekend. It was also important to me, personally, to have all of my vendors act a certain way which was just positive and kind so everyone at my wedding was someone I'd actually have at my wedding (no drama).
We met Alax in her office months prior to our wedding and immediately all hit it off. She was extremely professional but not stuffy. She was stylish, classy, and had a great personality which ultimately showed in her stunning and creative work. She was on time, always calm, always smiling and always there taking pictures even when we didn't notice it. ( we also handed her our rings without hesitation so let's add TRUSTWORTHY).
After our formal wedding ceremony, my husband jumped into our cocktail hour from a helicopter. Alax gave us some of the best pictures during that moment! Every single photo of the guys getting ready, the girls getting ready, my pups, our families, our gorgeous decorations, scenery, special moments during each part of the ceremony and reception, every single thing was captured beautifully. She exceeded my expectations. When people see our pictures on our apple tv or look through our wedding album they say things like, "you should submit your wedding photos to bridal magazines", even now over a year later.
I guarantee you will get an expert and an awesome person to photograph your wedding when you hire Alax!

tant day in our life with an artistic eye and she more than exceeded any expectations. We also decided to do engagement photos with Alax at the last minute when we were in town to make last minute arrangements for our destination wedding and she came through for us. Our engagement and wedding photos are absolutely gorgeous! I really felt that photography was one of, if not the most, important pieces of the wedding plan. The day will come and go ... the photos are what you will keep forever. I cannot be more pleased with the photos and our experience with Alax.
Thank you, Alax!
Alax shot our wedding in La Jolla, CA. I couldn’t have had a better wedding photographer! We got soooo many compliments. Everyone said our photos look like they are from a magazine...
. She got the very best angles, colors, contrast, settings, candidates, poses, etc. etc. Each photo is so beautiful, speaks 1,000 words and evokes emotion! Not to mention she’s the sweetest and most patient photographer! My husband is not typically comfortable in front of a camera but she changed that! So happy we went with her (and would absolutely again for any other photos we need done) and would recommend her to ANYONE and EVERYONE. We will have the most gorgeous wedding photos to treasure forever. Thank you, Alax!
I highly recommend Alaxandra as a wedding photographer! She shot my July wedding in San Diego and her photographs went above and beyond our expectations. She embodies a beautiful m...
ix of stylized and candid photos, which is exactly what we wanted. She shot my bridesmaids and I, our first look, the ceremony, family photos, and the reception. We had thousands of photos to choose from and couldn't be happier with the selection. We had several enlarged to hang in our home and to gift to our families. Alax was punctual, friendly, professional, and fun! She is extremely knowledgable in lighting, poses, and framing. She is a true professional. I will be contacting her to capture all my major life events. Thank you Alax!
Alaxandra photographed our summer wedding in San Diego. We met with her a couple months beforehand to discuss the details. We reviewed her portfolio and went over what sort of imag...
es we wanted at our venues. She was very professional and addressed all of our concerns. She was also knowledgable of the church and the reception venues, which was a bonus because she was able to also suggest ideas for shots. On the day-of, she captured everything well, even things we missed. My husband and I aren't very good at posing for pictures, but she made it easy for us. The photographs themselves are great. She captured colors beautifully, no image was blown-out or overexposed, and she gave us plenty of options.
Alaxandra was an excellent wedding photographer that exceeded my husband and I's expectation for our engagement and wedding photos. She has a friendly and warm personality and is ...
easy to work with. She made me feel very calm and confident on my wedding day, which is important during this important, yet hectic day! My husband does not like to be photographed, which I was very worried about. She made him also feel very comfortable and relaxed, which allowed her to capture great pictures of us both and our family and friends. Together, we all laughed and enjoyed the entire photography experience.
The finished products were AMAZING! The beautiful moments that she was able to capture would unbelievable. The colors in the photos were vibrant and the details were sharp. I put together albums with more than 500 pictures from the special day. Every time I look at them it takes me back to our special day and I remember exactly how I felt.
Alaxandra really is the best.
