Marie was an indispensable component of our wedding day and planning. As a vendor, she was responsive and punctual. As a photographer, she was creative and fun yet directive. As a ...
day of coordinator, she kept worries at bay for us. As a person, she has become a welcome friend.
Her photos of our engagement, wedding, and family will bring us joy forever. We look forward to using her for every life step. She really shined in shorting our fall Door County in which she captured breathtaking fall shots.
I worked with Marie to get a contract set up and Kim from Wee Irish Photography was our engagement session and wedding photographer. Besides a slight delay in communication at the ...
start, we could not be happier with our photos. Kim is such a joy to work with and our photos are stunning!
Marie is so amazing at what she does!! She has incredible organization skills and was able to improvise when our timeline got a little thrown off from a longer-than-expected ceremo...
ny! Her photos are so beautiful and she is so creative with her picture taking! I highly recommend Marie and Wild Elegance for your wedding photography!
Marie is an INCREDIBLE photographer and is so easy to work with!! My husband and I are not the most photogenic of people but Marie captured our wedding day in a beautiful way. Her...
ability to work with natural light and create a fairytale type background is amazing. She is such a fun person to work with and saved the day more than once. For example, the dresses for 2 of my bridesmaids broke and Marie was able to help us fix them, no questions asked. She went above and beyond and we loved working with her. Marie is also excellent with children, the ring bearers were two brothers who love to goof around and fight with eachother. Marie was able to get them to focus on her and get some great pictures of these boys! She will for sure be our first call for any photos we need in the future. She is great with keeping in contact with us and given the COVID pandemic she was super flexible and was more than willing to work with us if we had to reschedule our wedding, luckily we were able to have it. Marie is an incredible photographer and I would 100% recommend her! Thank you for helping us capture all the beautiful moments of our wedding day!
Marie with Wild Elegance took our engagement photos a few weeks ago and I'm honestly blown away! My fiance and I haven't really been the kind of people who take a lot of pictures s...
o we were worried that we were going to look awkward and staged. But Marie is SOOOO good at making you feel comfortable and posing you in a way where you don't even really feel posed. She was great at those candid shots too which everyone tends to love. I'm so thankful that we chose her for these and I can't wait for the all the other photo experiences we'll have with her.
There were some great photos but the majority of them were slightly out of focus or the trees in the background were more in focus than people’s faces. You told us this was because...
it was hot and the humidity fogs up the lens. As a professional, if you knew this then I would have expected that you take the extra time to make sure the photos we wanted were of the best quality that any couple would expect. You told us when I questioned people’s eyes being closed that they were actually squinting. I’ve looked at the photos so many times and they appear closed even after zooming in. Several of the family photos were completely blurry and I sent the most important ones to you afterwards to try to help correct that or offer us different options. After a month you sent them back and it looks like you just kicked up the sharpen tool on them and they still don’t look great. It’s frustrating for us because some of those people live all over the country, including my parents and brother, and we don’t get to see them often. They were really important photos for us to have. There are others photos of the wedding party where one of our ushers is halfway cut off. Many of the wedding party earlier in the day by the silo, our brows are furrowed and faces tense because of how bright it was. I would think as a professional that you would notice that immediately and move us to a better location. After the ceremony we had decided you would take our wedding portraits along with single portraits of us. You took a few shots and asked us if we wanted to stop then because it was so hot and finish these during sunset photo time. We were so happy after just getting married that we didn’t think anything of it at the time and agreed to your request. It ultimately came back to bite us as it rained and we never got those photos. You did offer for us to come back out a month later to redo the sunset photos and we were grateful. The redo of the photos didn’t have the same feel for us as those from our wedding day... I didn’t have my hair and makeup professionally done again because I couldn’t afford to pay for it twice. We wish, again as a professional, that you would have slowed down on our wedding day and also taken the time do our portraits after the ceremony. It would have saved us a lot of heartache.
Pros:
- Marie was very friendly and worked with us through various challenges that inevitably come up when planning/executing a wedding.
- The price was very reasonable, especial...
ly when compared to other photographers.
- Weather prevented us from doing sunset photos on the day, so she was gracious enough to work with us to schedule another time to take them
Cons:
- Photo's were of varying quality, but mostly of low quality. Don't be fooled by the cream of the crop of photos that are on her website. Here's a brief synopsis of some issues we ran into (though this is not an extensive list): Blurry photos (individuals were blurry but the trees behind them were crystal clear), individuals were cut out of frame , numerous photos of people with their eyes closed (we requested alternative photos, but were told that they were none available ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), there were several photos of the reception that were washed out. Honestly, I could go on, but I feel like some of the photos could have been taken with a smart phone and been of a better quality
- Instructions were not adhered to. We were told to provide the photographer with a list of requested shots of different combinations of family members. After spending a great deal of time coming up with this list maybe 10% of what we provided was actually shot. This one is a real head scratcher. We were more than happy to provide her with the list, but if she was just going to blow it off, what's the point.
- Always in a rush. This is a one person operation, so some rushing is to be expected, but considering we got almost none of the shots we requested, it would have been nice to slow things down a bit.
- Communication was insufficient. Once the wedding was over, we felt that timelines were not adhered to. When we had a question, we would receive a time frame of when we would have an answer which was never met. Generally it would take multiple followups before receiving a response. I get that it's a small operation, but it didn't fill us with confidence that we tended to get excuses for lateness and only after we followed up.
- The bride was inundated during the reception to the point that it created a lot of anxiety. We had hired a wedding day coordinator that was supposed to be the point person, but inevitably she went to the bride. Granted, part of this is the day of coordinator not fully embracing her role, but still this was one of several disappointments.
In the end, she got a 2 out of 5 because the cons really out weighed the pros. It felt like prior to signing the contract we were a priority, but what we were told didn't match the results on the day. And as things went on it felt more and more like we were a nuisance rather than a valued customer. Generally I don't like to leave reviews like this, but hopefully she will take this to heart and make some changes, or I can help someone else not have a similar experience.
Marie was so great to work with! She made photos on our special day so easy and carefree. She did an awesome job capturing the look and feel we wanted for our wedding - it is clear...
that she knows what she is doing and she does it well. We are so happy with the finished pictures and will definitely keep her in mind as a photographer for future needs!
Marie was so great! She went above and beyond as a photographer and even helped with some things that our assistants needed help with. We love our photos and she kept us smiling a...

th, very knowledgeable, her work is stunning and most importantly we felt comfortable working with her. In my opinion, your photographer, is your most important decision. We are beyond happy with our decision! We received a sneak peak and I’m in LOVE with them, we can’t wait to see the remaining album! Don’t pass her up, you’ll want her taking your engagement and wedding pictures!!!!
Marie is truly the best. When I began my journey of looking for a photographer for engagement and wedding photos I came across Marie and I knew right away, before even meeting her ...
that I wanted her to be our photographer. When we did meet that was it! Her personality is amazing and she is so easy to get along with.
When it came time for our engagement photos, they were taken in November. We knew it was going to be cold but it snowed the morning of and then later in the afternoon for our photos it was super windy. Marie being the best, she made it so quick but she still did an amazing job. Our pictures were perfect and I knew they would be.
Fast forward to our wedding day.. in Novemeber. We were all hoping it was going to be in the 50s at least. But it had snowed the night before and it was about 30 degrees. The ceremony turned out to be perfect with the sun shining and actually not being too bad so pictures were bearable. It got later in the evening and of course got COLD. Marie worked her magic and boom, boom, boom we were done. She is great with telling you how to pose and just quickly going with it. It is wonderful when you are freezing! Also, if anyone is out of line for family photos she is not afraid to tell them to stop... nicely.. haha! :) We got a sneak peek of our wedding photos right away and I can't stop looking at them!
Not only is Marie an amazing photographer but she is also AWESOME with helping with your bustle. Without her being there, my dress most likely would have not been bustled.
Marie, I seriously cannot thank you enough. You are truly an amazing photographer and an amazing person inside and out.
My now husband was very hesitant about taking pictures, but Marie was able to get him out of his shell and take some very nice pictures.
Marie is an amazing photographer who does superb work. It was a huge feeling of relief to know that no matter what else happened on our wedding day, the pictures would get taken an...
d they would be beautiful. Marie was early to our out-of-town venue and directed us through our pictures and poses in a professional and relaxed manner, making sure we enjoyed the experience.
Marie's photography and communication are both impeccable. My mom, who was paying for the pictures, wanted poses that were very traditional and formal (i.e. stand and look at the camera) while I wanted pictures that were creative, candid, and cinematic. After I sent her a melting down email about the changes to our picture plans, she was kind and reassuring and supportive. I knew that she would make it all happen, and she did.
Our wedding party and friends also loved working with Marie and our families were very impressed with how efficient she was.
Marie makes everyone around her feel comfortable and, bonus, she'll even tell you what to do with your hands when you panic and forget how to stand or sit or basically just be a human.
I recommend booking Marie for plenty of time because that's what we did and we were so happy with all of the detail shots she was able to give us of our invitations and programs, shoes, rings, special mementos, etc. We never felt rushed and we never felt that we were not the center of Marie's attention for our entire event.
