“The Road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, and I must follow, if I can, pursuing it with eager feet, until it joins some lar...ger way
where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say.”
It was by a stroke of luck—and fate, grander than what meets the eye—that we found Samittra, our fantastically equipped wedding planner, along our Road.
After interviewing several vaunted planners for the role in our “Pacific Northwest Shire” wedding, it was her warmth, authority, and authenticity that made the choice unmistakable: Samittra was meant to be the steward of our long-expected day.
As with all great adventures, there is no knowing where the Road might turn, or how one might react under pressure. Weddings, like quests, carry both high stakes and high visibility—and yet through it all, Samittra and her team remained calm, poised, and unfaltering in their response to every challenge.
The night before our wedding, I walked Samittra through our home, where the celebration was to take place, and showed her my haphazard collection of boxes and wedding paraphernalia. Without batting an eye, she took the loose threads of my vision and wove them into the living fantasy we had long dreamed of. Her artistic finesse is inimitable—an alchemy of skill and intuition that cannot be taught.
And then came fate’s trial: an underground hornet’s nest, lying directly where our altar was to stand. On the day itself, the nest swarmed, shining its fury on her staff and even the groom. Yet even in this unexpected tempest, Samittra handled it with steady pragmatism and grace, shielding the moment, diffusing panic, and ensuring the ceremony could continue in joy — better than the first, as if destiny had intended it all along.
Her artistry is matched only by her diplomacy and it will forever be my new standard.
We are eternally grateful to the powers that be for delivering the wonderful Samittra into our lives. Truly, there is no one who could have filled the role better.
