This is a beautiful venue for a small wedding reception. A round bar, spacious dining, fireplace, outdoor spaces, etc. It is a beautiful, cozy venue with deer on the golf course. The scene was gorgeous. 3. The food (baked cod and stuffed chicken) was delicious. The service was very good as well. A few words of caution: 1. Everyone knows the food and beverages are marked up considerably for weddings. . . 400 to 500 percent. If you are paying premium prices, you expect quality. While the food was delicous, the drinks were terrible. Most guests commented on the terrible old fashioneds and weak pours. I personally drank about 5 drinks on NYE and left the night without a buzz. 2. Be sure to ask about pricing structure. While you are aware of the price of the venue and the food through a contract, the drinks are very pricey and pricing is a mystery. Also, the hotel room rental rate was very expensive for guests. 3. Drinks were poured very weak. We definitely could tell this ourselves, but when guests complained to us, there is concern. 4. Pricing inconsistencies. Guests noticed inconsistencies with drink pricing and up charges on many occasions. We offered guests drink tickets and often the guests were upcharged extra for their drink and even charging for ice. 5. Bar service was slow. The bar staff was 2 and is makes for a very long wait between pours for guests. The bar manager was not very friendly to guests either. This is something we also noticed immediately, but then guest mentioned as well. Be sure to request that you don't get "Jo" tending to your guest's bar service. When mentioning these things to event planners, no concessions were made to remedy the concerns.

Actual Venue. It’s beautiful. The big widows overlooking the mature tree line sold me on this venue. The option to have the ceremony right there is amazing. Also, it’s big (if you chose the Conference Center). If you have a big family, it’s difficult to find wedding venues that can accommodate, but the Wilderness has you covered. 2. Day of Coordinator. This is so valuable in planning your wedding and helping the day run smoothly. I had the pleasure of working with Morgan Harris, who was awesome. She helped make my wedding visions reality. 3. Excellent food at a fair price. I had tons of compliments on the food. I loved the food during the complimentary tasting, but I didn’t know how it would be with 300 + getting served at once. It was just as good. 4. Service. Building off the food, all servers and bar tenders were professional and provided excellent service. 5. Rooms. People loved that the rooms were just down from the reception (if at Conference Center). The rooms were big, nice, and clean. The night before the wedding, the wedding party got placed in rooms pretty far away. I called and this got switched right away. Whenever there was an issue, someone helped promptly and professionally. 6. Experience. They do a lot of weddings and they know what they’re doing. That is invaluable on your big day. 7. Overall professionalism. They were very responsive and professional during the Covid pandemic, which caused us to reschedule our wedding. This went as smooth as possible. One thing they did which was so appreciated was they did not raise food costs from 2020 to 2021 given all the rescheduled weddings. That is rare in the wedding industry. Overall, so happy we chose the Wilderness for our special day.
